The 61 is from "C" and "D" series only. It was followed by the 118 from "E" to "F" Series and is continued with the 177 from "G" onwards. The difference is in the dial - it has to be in "tobacco brown" on the 61 and 118, while the 177 has a black dial. Since "H" series, the 177 has the Sandwich dial. Micky

Don't know, how to say it in a way that doesn't harm your enthusiasm for your new toy. but... - I can see some more flaws. To be honest, I can't see anything, but flaws.... Case, crown, CG's, clasp, dial-printing, hands, date-font - everything looks a bit like a SUB - but that's all. Sorry mate, but you asked... Hope, you didn't gave to much money for it. It was the same with me, some years ago. I bought my first SUB and was really happy with it, until the moment, when I came to compare it with other reps and genuine ones. Suddenly I knew, I was scammed No offense meant, believe me, I have a bad conscience by writing this. But I think the usual nice-watch-wear-it-in-good-health-blabla would be unfair... I don't think, you will damage a movement just by using it's functions. Due to it's construction, a modern movement is, although it's a a complicated machine, durable and sturdy - if well finished and serviced. If some functions are used in a way, that is not usual, the only thing you have to fear about is the shorter terms of servicing the watch. I, for example, collected vintage Omegas. Most of them where running for more than 40 years and I'm sure, not every owner handled them very carefully. I never had any Problems with the Movements, apart from oiling and replacing spare parts. None of them was really damaged. Hope, that helps a bit

As far as I can see, these are watches of not the highest quality available. The swan neck regulator on the Unitas movements is missing, the SEL's on the Rolexes look poor and and and... On the pictures of the watch you mentioned, the complete regulation device on that Valjoux is simply not there I'm sure, if you ask one of the trusted "collectors", you will get a better quality for less than a quarter of that prices. About 1 Year ago, I had some reps serviced by a watchsmith in Bremen. I have his adress and phone number, shouldn't be a problem to ask him, if he's still in business. Hi... The "H" in an ETA Logo under the Balance says, that this movement is an FHF (Fabrique Horloge Fontainmelon). As one of the oldest swiss Movement Manufacturers (founded in 1793), FHF was a founder of the Ebauches SA, wich was followed by ETA. In the late 1970's production with the old FHF Logo stopped, until then only Movements with ETA Logo and Parts for them were produced. Unfortunatly I did'nt find anything about that specific Movement...

Hi all... Not to show off all the details, you can see in almost every post about SUB's, but to send you warm summer greetings from the german north shore It's Pauls "so called perfect" SUB, with some small mods: I replaced the horrible big crown with a better one and gave the pearl a drop of clear paint to make it look better. I still have to find a way to fix the mag - after that it will be a very close one, as I think. Enjoy: Have a nice day Micky

I started collecting watches 16 years ago and focused on vintage Omega Seamasters, built up a nice collection with some rare ones from 1948/49, some military pieces, and also the cheaper watches, built in the 1970's plus stuff like boxes, papers and so on, wich is hard to find. The collection was almost complete (around 80 pieces), when I traded it at a fair in Munich for the watch of my dreams - a Patek Philippe Annual Calender in WG. I'm still happy with this decision Since then I started collecting other stuff, like baby clothing, toys and Bobby Cars - not for me, but for my little girl After she was born, I got another view for the worth of money, if you know wht I mean... But from time to time the old Virus caught me and I felt like "I have to buy a watch" - so I started to gather informations about replicas. Nowadays, if I get nervous and my wrist is itching, I get myself a nice rep - just for the fun in it. So, I don't think that I'm still a collector, but maybe... Regards, Micky

Time to say "hello", I think... After loosing interest in reps 3 Years ago, the virus caught me again. I was lurking long enough to see, how friendly and polite everyone behaves on this board - and to be amazed about all that knowledge. In my opinion, one can't do anything wrong with collecting replicas, if he follows the hints, given over here. So, I started my new collection with ordering a "so called perfect" SUB - just to get in touch with the new quality of reps. Regarding DHL, it's in the air somewhere between Hong Kong and Germany, maybe tomorrow I can tell you about my impressions - if anyone is interested on this more-than-enough-discussed-issue I'm looking forward to having a good time with all of you Regards, Micky
