  1. That's tough! I got a watch before that came DOA and I was so [censored], I vowed never to buy another watch that I wasn't holding in my hand... eventually, it subsided and here I am with new watches! It sucks now and probably will for as long as you can remember but it'll get better.

  2. Look on ebay.

+1... if is tough to say this one or that one because the only things I have a rubber strap on is my Seiko Arnie and my Luminox Navy Seals watches, both were stock.

Wit the said, I've been looking at changing out my Navy Seals strap for a rubber Maratac strap, might be worth checking out!

  3. Gents,

Can anyone point me in the right direction to pick up a high quality replica of the above?

    Thks

Go to the main page, scroll down to the dealers section, and contact Joshua... That's the answer you'll more than likely get from anyone on here!

    And welcome!

  4. I can relate to this post in two ways... First, I was never a big Rolex guy. I had always considerednthem too classic looking. Yet, of the last four watches I have bought, three have been Rolex models (16610 Sub, DSSD, and I have a 1680 Red Sub on the way). There is something about the classic look lf a Rolex.

Second, as I just said, my latest watch is a 1680 Red Sub. I NEVER was into vintage watches, ever (did I mention never?). Then, one day, while perusing the forum, a Rolex with a dome caught my eye. After that, it was over... I had to have one! You mentioned you don't want to spend a fortune and I admire that, I wish I had the control you did! Thanks to Bill, I have probably the finest watxh I'll own on the way!

Up until this point, my DSSD is my absolute favorite watch. I have a feeling once I get this Red Sub, my DSSD will take a second-place seat. I say go for it! Buy yourself a vintage Rolex and enjoy the hell out of it! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  5. I asked the same question (and I still do!) but the answer nearly always given is the sellers can advertise it but there is no quality check when leaving the factory... Maybe they put it together perfectly, maybe they forgot a seal, you just don't know.

    Bottom line: get it checked!
