Andrew or Josh seems to be the typical answer...

I am beginning like like these a lot! Can't wait to see more!
-
I have one for sale...
And she's a beaut!
-
Want to sell this?

90 seconds is high... especially for a regulated/serviced watch. If I'm not mistaken, around +/-15 seconds or less is "accurate"
-
Congrats!
Side note: I PMed you yesterday...
-
I'll have to be more careful! Thanks for the info

Ouch...
Still a good looking watch! And it seems it was a win-moderate win situation: you got a quality beater watch and you'll get a new one to do your build!

With the exception of the Yacht Master (which is hideous), I disagree with just about all of this. It's just modernising the design.
IMO Rolex were way behind the times. They still are really, as they only really took a baby step with these increased sizes. Which isn't surprising given that the originals are considered design classics.
For example I'd rather wear my seiko monster than my gen moonwatch nowadays, Sure it's only 1mm difference but because of the design it wears much larger. Same goes for the new submariner. I know many will disagree based on the design icon thing. But, that the new sub wears bigger than than the old one is the only reason I would consider wearing one. I know this will be unpopular with traditional Rolex fans, but i bet many others my age (GenX) think the same.
I also think that the old bracelet and clasp suck because it feels flimsy and clunky regardless of how reliable it was. The new one feels silky, tough, modern and looks much better. I also think the ceramic insert is huge improvement in terms of looks and durability - finally rolex makes a 'tool' watch that wont ding or scratch with minor use.
For my mind, on average, the new designs are way better, but I'm just a guy who likes non-vintage watches and not a traditional rolex fan.
Once they start ARing the crystals they will be on the right path.
I couldn't agree with you more... when I think Rolex, I think the same, typical design that has been around. Does that change how I feel about them: no. If I want a classic, timeless piece, it's Rolex. If I want something "newer", it's not Rolex.
I'm still interested in where these pictures are for these watches! I've only seen the YMII

Believe me, my friend, I have a huge appreciation for fine time pieces, especially Omega, however do not have the pockets to support that appreciation in the genuine market.
I'm just saying, I don't understand it... the boxes are out there, though, to help support your appreciation.

This is a sweet picture!!!!!

Very nice!

Why so hot to buy a box set? Don't you wear the watch? I had a box for a Sub I bought a while ago... just threw it out, it was only collecting dust!
Personally, I've never understood the fascination with having a box for a rep unless you are going to try and sell a rep as a gen... in that case, you're just a shitty person.

Nice watch BMW. I owned that one and some other versions of it,up there with the best rep ever made imo.
Just dont post it on a gen forum....
Why is that? Accuracy in time keeping? Accuracy in aesthetics? Both?
-
There pictures of these other than the Yacht Master II? I tried to find this Super Sea Dweller but couldn't...
YM II is awful. Beyond awful, even.

Go into My Settings and click on the Profile tab. On the left, you'll see a column of options and one is the Change Avatar option... You'll need a web link so either a picture from a website or one you've uploaded some where.

Very cool watch! Definitely a conversation starter!

Looks amazing!

Great watch, did that fancy protector come with it?

I would never dive with a rep. Get a Seiko Monster for $150 and dive with that, clank it on your tanks and the boat without worry and use your rep for the restaurant and bar after the dive. Waterproof is NOT pressure proof, you will learn that in dive class.
Mister raises an excellent point... You want to jump into a pool, that's one thing. That's the extent that I'd want a rep to be waterproofed, personally. But if you want to dive 100+ feet, that's a whole different ball game.
Search in the sales threads, I think there was a Seiko dive watch for sale that never sold... Good route to go.

Pictures would help with distinguishing between the versions... It wouldn't help me, I can't tell () but there are subtle differences.
Congrats on the DSSD purchase, I just got mine recently and I love it! Let us know how the water test goes, I'd be interested to know what you find!

I've heard the 005 is very close looking to gen but I can't speak from experience...
Personally, the next Panerai I get will probably be the 177 unless something pops up on the sale threads
