  1. Hey fellas,

I am getting down the the final stages of my 5514 COMEX build and one of the last things i have to do is the Dial .. I have a whoopy comex dial that i need a vintage look lume job (no lume) but correct color for the apparent age of the watch. I am looking for someone in Canada or the US for this unless someone can direct me to someone overseas that can do better and in a timely manor.

    Thanks in advance !

    Cheers

  2. lol fraggle I saw that guys stuff on the conspiracy as well, some people are truly far too bored and paranoid for their own good. its disheartening to hear of the numbers of people too stupid to realize this sort of thing is just pure horse [censored] :p

On the other point that seems to be the consensus of most "pro western" media outlets of the blame being on the Russians, sure it may have been the "russian backed rebels" but I don't think it was something that the Russians would condone. what advantage would they have in doing so ? absolutely nothing.

Ive actually stopped watching the news in recent weeks because its just so foolish the abundance of bull that gets regurgitated on a daily basis... I really do not know how someone can sit and watch CNN or some other propaganda fed news...

  3. The chuck on a drill press being used for milling is a no no, but seriously for the amount of metal in contact with the bit i highly doubt there will be a huge risk of damage. as for the coolant feed.. again if there were more metal in contact with the bit then i can see it as 100% necessary, but for this type of work and if there is limited equipment avail then no coolant is fine...  the work would be better on a proper milling setup, but [censored] lol give the guy a break he did pretty damn good for a drill press and chuck.

Beautiful watch !!! enjoy it !!

That machining wasn't done very well !! Im very well experienced and it looks like he didn't even use coolant ! I'm also surprised it didn't come out of the vice you really want a mini rotary table with a internal expanding collet. Not to mention using a milling bit in a bloody Jacobs drill chuck !! You are meant to have that tool 600-700 rpm and drown in coolant otherwise it kills the tool and leaves that awful 2Micron surface finish. Done correctly with the correct feed and speed feeds it will leave at least 0.4micron surface finish( equal to a precision CNC turned or ground finish). That way you could blast it straight away rather than wet flatting it or brushing it. You want a precision square and flat face to ensure a perfect fit on the case back. I did notice a mark on the back where a machining mark was after it was blasted. Not good in my opinion but if your happy I'm happy for you.

  4. How long were you in Goose Bay ? My ex fiancees father was a luftwaffe pilot there until the base closed. He few a tornado in his last several years in the Luft. He used to record the training missions he was allowed to record in the last 5 years or so back in Germany with a GoPro lol they were amazing to watch!!!

An oldie, but still fun. Low level flying Goose Bay Canada: http://youtu.be/ETfgLlfeFVo?t=10m25s

Its always been my dream to be an airforce pilot.. and Fly an F16 ..  almost inlisted back in my early days of university in the ROTC program here in Canada, still kick myself in the ass for not doing it.   The only downside is the Cdn forces do not use the F16

  5. hmm it could be the gift thing for sure.. I never really thought of that as i've never had that problem but Ive heard a lot of others that have, ill try again.

fraggle42 Im a Mac fella :p I dont have the same problems as the windows based OS, but i sometimes regret switching everything to mac lol its a pain in the ass for just about everything i use a computer for.

    Thanks fellas!
