There is another seller on RF that has been dumping ALOT of dials, hands and bracelets...
Hmm I need a 93250 for my sub, the rep bracelet is shait.
Might be a good time to keep an eye out. Anyone who want to sell one just let me know :-))

Same on the vintage market, the crazy price increases of 2007 and 2008 are gone (except some really hot models - 40

Anyone else been keeping up with the thread over on RF about the guy who was making a deal for three Rolex's at his AD? He was offered a Deep Sea, Daytona and a Migauss.
After almost a week of waiting for the dealer to come up with a price for all three, he picked them up for just under $22k.
Here is a link to a little photo essay he made...
http://picasaweb.google.com/nylawbiz...eat=directlink
Look at what he paid for the DSSD... $7150
He got the Daytona for $7750
and the Milgauss for $5100
for a total of $21,600 for three of the hottest watches in the Rolex line-up.
I wonder if the AD (Adams Jewelers in New York) is going to get their hands slapped for selling these watches at this price???
link seems dead.
he overpaid for the dssd ;-)
The rest seems OK to me, since November last year watch sales have imploded.

And with all due respect Freddy, I did point out that this was my first attempt and I did put a lot of work, perhaps misguided, into this. We all start somewhere and the only way we can progress is through research and the assistance of more knowledgeable people. If you felt it was beyond redemption, it would have been better had you said so or refrained from saying anything at all. All the sarcastic comment told me was that you were trying to be clever at my expense and I will not be patronised particularly as I was not trying to suggest I'd done a wonderful job. I was genuinely disappointed with your response.
However, apologies all round seem to be the order of the day. I would still like to know where the major inaccuracies lie. The case I am led to believe is an MBW which from what I've read seemed a good basis, but you may know better. The dial is an ETA fit one, I will need to work out why it is out of alignment as the movement is spot on, the stem straight in and the crown a pleasure to use.
Have not seen many members able to get into a fight with freddy.
Take it easy, rwg is a good place to hang out.
For instance I know that Stephane is a great guy, but the idea of him butchering a great snowflake makes me want to bang my head against the wall..
(we have a big deposit on the apartment so I will not...)
To each, his own.. (i think the DSSD is a monster, fugly.. half of the members will not agree with me... )

I expect I will be among the minority on this one but I don't like Blue Subs at all...even the TT
To me the Submariner should = Black Dial
hear hear...
brrr.. Blue, Blue is imho not a nice combi

You can't rep the look of real MOP.
Yep, one of the reasons why I wanted a MOP dial.
Have not seen decent reps of a 29MM tt, esp with MOP.
But it is so strange to have such a tiny watch..

A real beauty (for a woman) & worth the wait. Well done & I am sure she will love it.
coming from you that really is compliment.
there are not many of this floating around.
prices are good at the moment, managed to get this for 1/3 of the list price.
Apparently no one wants the give their wife / girlfriend etc a used watch.
luckily my mom is really cool with that.

These vintage domes are for my darling dachshund Shundi. Has anyone seen the bhoy this evening? A gentleman must never keep a lady waiting.
Ow me so... like domes..
-
This project took 6 months of search and negotiating all over the globe.
It is a 169623, TT, MOP. Mom turned 60 and has never owned a nice watch.
All of the family put money in and dad the biggest chunk. After a lengthy proces this finally ended on my doorstep
Sorry for the dark pics, it was early this morning.

there is something about this watch.
i kinda like it. with a black dial.
brilliant
-
Ah, ah, well for sure it would be a great "happening".
But I won't let that happen.
I mean I have a genuine Bergeon dice here, but I'm missing the 400 to 500

At the end of the day, rep or gen, they're just watches, not religious ikons
Huh?
i obey to the crown..

funny observation.
note: james may is a massive IWC fan, like me.
Yeah..... taste really is not his strong suit :-)))

I drive a diesel, audi and own rolexes.. hmmm
James is cooler then Jeremy by miles...
did anyone see the north pole expedition thing?
-
Thanks again guys.
@Pete:
The mvt has been modified indeed.
The Orange hand turns in 24 hours. It is not fixed.
Now, my knowledge about mvts is very limited so I couldn't tell you precisely what mod has been done to it
i love the crown position :-)
looks really good..
opening her up would really be the highlight of the GTG, I'd guess someone with some fine tools will e around?

Hello, I am here, is the language really important, to work? I have my son her english is perfect. so no problem :-))))))
herzlich willkommen!
And guys there are enough people here to do the translation work :-)
-
ok, not. so sorry to get your hopes up but this guy from TZ photoshopped these pics and if they were genuine, I'd be saving up because all of them are stunning and to be honest, models that Rolex ought to make!!!!
enjoy...
Give this one daytona hands, in a YM2 case, SS, normal dot hour markers or daytona hour markers
And I would buy it, especially if this explorer/daytona would come with a white dial..

I think that rep certificates are a step too far and in my opinion only required to mug some unsuspecting uniformed individual off. This is a part of this hobby that should not be encouraged in my opinion.
i do agree..
There is no function for fake papers except to fool unsuspecting buyers

Ah, that's why they were rude.
I'd not sell to you. You don't sound like an easy customer.
They where not rude, reading is difficult I know am impatient myself .
I had the impression that they perceived my question was rude.
Have dealt with multiple members here, all deals where smooth and easy.
I am buying a gen rolex, through a professional watch dealer which seems to sell hundreds of watches per year.
If asking for specs and test results for an above 6k watch is being difficult then so be it.
I'd see nothing wrong with asking for clarity, again I did not ask them to provide guarantees for the future.
As it turned out I was right to ask since after testing they established the fact that it needed service and could not be sold.
Imho it is better to clear all issues before the deal then complain and whine later.
