  1. very nice,

i could live with the bracelet and the dial, the positioning of the crown and the bezel would be more my problem.

but this remains on my list.

no clue why none of our collectors never started a group buy for this. must be enough members here who would shell out some nice cash to get a very good rep.

  2. No, of course not all gen parts! The case and bracelet are from a full-gold Yachtmaster, bought from Italy for 5000,-DM maybe 10 years ago.

Only tube and crown are new and gen. The movement is a 2824-2 with taller cannon pinion and modified spacer ring between dial and movement. The date disc is from a 16613 Noobmariner and has a very good font. I mean, there would be no problem to install all gen parts, because the case and bezel takes gen parts - but if the owner wants me to stay short with the costs... :D

Unfortuanelly I have no movement shot, because I gave yesterday the watch back to the owner. But if the movement is not running accurate, I will get the watch back to adjust it. Then you can have your movement shots. ;)

    respect!

i hate gold watches but respect for the work

  3. The problem with this watch is that it is a POS. It is basically a very nice looking, overpriced paper weight. The modification used to convert the ETA 2836 to a "GMT" movement do not work properly. Do a search on the forum for this watch and you will see you are not alone in this problem.

    the CHS is a POS.

I do not know why the IHS, unmodified ETA would be a POS

  4. To me Franken means that some major components (dial plus hands, movement, case) are genuine.

Simply replacing a crown or hands qualifies as modded.

    do agree..

Franken = major components, either a case, a dial, a movement.

a bezel, crystal, crown, hands or bracelet falls imho in the modded category

  5. Well thought, but it's not true. :)

It's rarer variation but definitely no logic there (between old and new). HERE is a Ebay auction of a 2004 model with flat S. I've seen a 2007 model with flat S.

    I love the flat S, that's why I wanted the WM9.

you realize that you r nuts in the eyes of 99.9% of the peeps. flat or no flat s... :-))))))))))))))

that is why i love this forum. enough people more nuts then i am...

  6. gen rolex watches are mass producted from robots(except the movement which is mass producted but hand assembled) and reps are mass producted also with mass producted movement and hand assembled.

    whats the difference?

only the price and some minor differences...its just a watch!!!

and something about the invenstment issue...rolex watches are losing their value after a couple of months or years from the first transaction as you can easily notice that on ebay.

what you have to lose from buying a rep? nothing!!!

Dude it is the other way around.

Buy a steel rolex, 2nd hand or with a good deal, keep it and you will not.. read my george w lips.. loose money..

reps that is a hobby, you will loose money.. bigtime but you will have fun
