but is is me or are the endlinks a bit ill fitting?

imho it is a bit to red-ish, the bigger problem is the color of the nrs, the gen nrs are much much lighter..

bloody nice shot!
want one
-
very nice,
i could live with the bracelet and the dial, the positioning of the crown and the bezel would be more my problem.
but this remains on my list.
no clue why none of our collectors never started a group buy for this. must be enough members here who would shell out some nice cash to get a very good rep.

No, of course not all gen parts! The case and bracelet are from a full-gold Yachtmaster, bought from Italy for 5000,-DM maybe 10 years ago.
Only tube and crown are new and gen. The movement is a 2824-2 with taller cannon pinion and modified spacer ring between dial and movement. The date disc is from a 16613 Noobmariner and has a very good font. I mean, there would be no problem to install all gen parts, because the case and bezel takes gen parts - but if the owner wants me to stay short with the costs...
Unfortuanelly I have no movement shot, because I gave yesterday the watch back to the owner. But if the movement is not running accurate, I will get the watch back to adjust it. Then you can have your movement shots.
respect!
i hate gold watches but respect for the work

wow gen bezel!
i want one!!!!
how dd you manage to find that?
-
Yes!
Gold is not my thing. But plz show some pics
-
is it me, or is the hour hand fatter on the gen?
-
Help!
I am a blue blooded Rolex
Could someone plz get me out of my misery, clean me, polish me, oil me and rub me with a nice soft cloth and put me on the arm of a beautiful girl.
I will even try to vibrate..
-
I would by the rep if it would not be a fantasy.
love the IIc, the Subc would be the same watch without the problematic movement.
super super rep potential, AR cyclops is easy, position the rolexrolexrolex right, individual serial numbers and you have a winner,,,
-
level the glass
oil the bracelet
ar the cyclops
loctite the clasp screw
swap the pos movement for a gen and you are good to go :-)

The problem with this watch is that it is a POS. It is basically a very nice looking, overpriced paper weight. The modification used to convert the ETA 2836 to a "GMT" movement do not work properly. Do a search on the forum for this watch and you will see you are not alone in this problem.
the CHS is a POS.
I do not know why the IHS, unmodified ETA would be a POS

i have a problem with this post.
the holy grail, three in one picture, same owner..
can not mumble more then wow.. pfff.. jeezz .. wow..
i wish you good health, and a lifetime of enjoying these works of art

looks very good imho. but what so i know about sd ds..

To me Franken means that some major components (dial plus hands, movement, case) are genuine.
Simply replacing a crown or hands qualifies as modded.
do agree..
Franken = major components, either a case, a dial, a movement.
a bezel, crystal, crown, hands or bracelet falls imho in the modded category

you realize that you r nuts in the eyes of 99.9% of the peeps. flat or no flat s... :-))))))))))))))
that is why i love this forum. enough people more nuts then i am...

I collect gens as well, luckily peeps here have been cool and very very supportive.
(i love the only rep I have.....)
Stay, collect and have fun.. gen forums are ... booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooring
-
gen rolex watches are mass producted from robots(except the movement which is mass producted but hand assembled) and reps are mass producted also with mass producted movement and hand assembled.
whats the difference?
only the price and some minor differences...its just a watch!!!
and something about the invenstment issue...rolex watches are losing their value after a couple of months or years from the first transaction as you can easily notice that on ebay.
what you have to lose from buying a rep? nothing!!!
Dude it is the other way around.
Buy a steel rolex, 2nd hand or with a good deal, keep it and you will not.. read my george w lips.. loose money..
reps that is a hobby, you will loose money.. bigtime but you will have fun
-
whoopdawowie...
very very very nice.
congrats.
by-tor, where is the YM review :-)))))))))

Stephane,
Yet another generous and beautiful pictorial offering by a true gentleman. I enjoyed reading the story line and learning a little more about Rolex subs.

By-Tor this is not fair mate.

POS? Only the 2 versions are POS.
Once again: WHS gen ETA works perfectly.
hmpf... WHS/IHS..
That hurts my eyes.
Did not see it on the pic though
-
the best POS ever, I love it.
Trailing gmt hand and i can never trust the time.. who cares. It looks great
