  1. it is a marketing ploy... I predict that they will stop selling the correct handstack some point soon, release a lesser movement for the same price, then re release the correct handstack movement at a higherprice in the future... with additional flaws of course...

just bought it..could not wait anymore.

have asked The Zigmeister for service and a movement review

  2. if it's not too much trouble could you message me the pics or to my email.. so I can do side by side.. kudos to you.. otherwise I have genuine pics to use.. but the more the merrier.. :D

    Lani....

am counting minutes here.. pics! :-)))))))))))))))))

    SUSPENSE IS ABSOLUTELY KILLING ME

  3. Some ideas, as a base for discussion:

    1. Split the forum load, all pics etc from a cheap non off shore server (Host in the Netherlands, cheap and secure), only the sensitive data (site access etc on a secure off shore)
    2. Block all irrelevant traffic, avatars, signatures etc..
    3. Automatically delete / block all quoted pictures
    4. Restrict image size
    5. Charge the collectors traffic fees on their posts
    6. Close all discussions after page one for non paying members
    7. block all pictures for non paying members

    hope this helps

  4. Could not agree more, waiting for lani's review.

@"Collectors" Send By-thor one for reviewing asap plz :-))

I'll start with your second post BT:

"Too bad I'm not too crazy about this ceramic version, gen or rep. I doubt I'm going to drop $400 for it". :)

So far, I agree with you 100%.

The rehaut engraving does not correspond to what I like design wise. :yuk:

I might go for it one day, but not today, nor tomorrow.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to use your skills to create the side by side comparision photo, which should make us point the obvious differences, if any.

Here are mine and I think that to correct these ones will had a serious budget to the initial 400$ :Jumpy:

    1) The crown: can't see anything else to say but it has to be changed.

    2) The crown guards: must be seriously shaved or attend Weight Watchers meetings.

    3) Insert: Font is way to fat, dots are not correctly placed. Simple example: 18-20 and 20-22

    4) Dial: already pointed, too fat WG circles around the hour markers.

    5) Dial: good point, the printing seems to be almost spot on. We need to have macros though.

    6) Bezel teeth: too rounded and too fat.

    7) Case: hard to tell from the photo, but it seems to "large". The shoulders are wider.

    8) Rehaut: It' hard to say again but it seem that the rep is too woky again.

    9) Rehaut engraving: at the 9 o'clock it's a R on the gen and almost an O on the rep.

That means that the entire rehaut engraving is not correct.

    10) Swiss made: slightly to far away from the 6 o'clock marker.

Ok, please do not misunderstand my post.

This is probably a great rep again.

We love to get new reps and most of them are very good, including this one.

    :yeah:

I am only trying to say that it is not a SUPER rep and thus the price should not be that high as if you're looking for 0.99:1 you will have to work and pay.

    :wounded1:

I am also saying that before each of us literally jumps on a new release we should think it over and let our Kamikaze test them

  5. The Zigmeister I have a frankendream to be build. will finance all up front.

I have time, no rush, but would love to be on your whitelist.

hence asked a well respected member, who really deserves that respect, to introduce me :-))

  6. I don't buy my gens new but try to buy watches that are less than 6 months old and I set 60% of current retail as my upper limit. I bought a Speedy pro, 9 weeks old at 57%, black SMP 7 or 8 months old at just under 55%, Tudor chrono 11 months old 63%, B&R 03-94 9 months at exactly 50% when compared with the recent price rise that occurred while the watch was in transit to me. I bought all of these on-line, Speedy & Tudor on ebay and the rest from watch forums. The Speedy and SMP both had the original caseback and clasp protectors in place and were totally mint. The others were almost mint but had been properly described eg mark on caseback where it rubbed on the clasp when set down after wearing.

The people who bought my watches new took a serious hit and a few had 2 owners in the space of 6 months - some guys flip watches like I change shirts. There are real bargains out there and I have had no trouble at all. The only watch that didn't arrive was a rep from a forum member. Don't be afraid to buy on-line - after all you can buy twice as many and if you buy carefully you will always be able to get back at least as much as you have paid.

I buy rollies this way, a bit older since the discount not so fast but this works out great.

I buy from top managers, people with something to loose, and rlx with papers from local AD's

low risk, big discount.. well around 35% is a lot for rollies.

Never bought something from an AD.

someone has to pay for the shiny windows, and arrogant personal, but not me
