Just my two euro cents but I have at least one rep/franken which is over the 1.000$.
May sound insane but it's even a little bit over 1.500$.
To go to these prices you do not need solid gold at all.
Think about a 600$ Super dome and a 500$ 93150
So setting the limit at 1.500 doesn't sound a bad idea to me.
Nice move gents, fully agree.
and 1500 in USD is about the limit i'd ever pay for a franken, good limit good move

I guess we are both giving the guy the right info which is what is important though.
:-)) Yep
do agree with you on the other brands, that is why i will never, read my lips ( :-) ), buy another brand then RLX.
Though the APROO on a hornback looks sweet, as does the 3717.
but I wont be an AD's best friend..
if it comes to cars and watches i do it like warren buffet, i buy used, timeless quality at a reasonable price with low maintenance costs (Audi diesel and RLX) :-))

A beauty to behold & a marvel to wear. It even provides 90% of the tactile feel (fit & finish) of the real thing, a rare feat for an out-of-the-box rep watch. But it also contains 1 of the most unreliable rep movements ever made. The GMTIIC is legendary for its beauty, accuracy & mechanical failures.
Now, go search & read.
in short it is the most beautiful POS ever..

I'm confused. In your original thread you seemed to like the brand and now it sucks. Not that I care what a man buys or doesn't buy, but neither the price nor brand sucks in any way, that is for certain. Regarding resale, ALL watches are marginal with the minor exception of Rolex, but that too is changing now unless the model is inherently collectable.
Yes, our old friend supply and demand again from the drama threads. LOL. Gens too I'm afraid. The huge watch boom of the last 5 years has created a glut of watches on the secondary market - the bulk of which are due, but have never been serviced which makes matters worse. Quite simply the supply of used Swiss watches (including Rolex) far outstrips demand at this point. You will continue to see lower and lower resale values on all fine timepieces unless special in some way.
Always buy a watch because you like it and have some emotional connection to it. Forget trying to make a smart purchase in terms of resale value. Those days are over. There is no smart watch purchase. They are all overpriced and a stupid way to waste money. Man do I LOVE being stupid though...
Do not agree..
Buying a used steel rolex tool watch, 1 to 4 years old, 25 to 33% of original price, nad you will be fine.
simply due to the limited supply of rolex and their yearly price increases.
the price increases alone are pulling the resale value up.
I do not intend to loose on cent on selling one of my gens, and i do not see that happening.

The JLC I am really in love with and hope to own within the next two years is the Dualmatic Master Compressor.
I start drooling when I see it, specifically on a brown strap:
double drool.. love it

General prices??! I might be interested in some GEN 16610 (submariner SS black) or 16613 dials (blue) dials and how about an EXP II white dial?
Glass crystal for GEN 16610 ?
Please let me know and thanks for sharing this info.

I'll bring the beer... cant we do a local gtg :-))

I know that this has been really exciting for everyone with these cermaic bezels... I am curious though as to what makes them better? The color on them seems much worse so it must be an upgrade to the utility of the watch?
all..
have 3 gens, a sub, gmt II, exp II.. the rep ceramic bezel looks better then all 3 together

Thanks for the wishes! I'm positive I'll manage to regulate it just fine.
I've been thinking hard (maybe not my speciality?) but I'm not sure why you mean it's funny.
Because I live in the Land of Watchdom? Sure, there's many watchmakers here (actually there's a real shortage here, Zig could land a well payed job immediately!) but will they touch a rep? I think not.
Maybe I should get in training...
Or was it something else you found funny? Maybe I'm a bit slow here.
Valerian
If you ever manage to find one...

I am more of a zero guy (all black) but this watch started my affair with watches.. brilliant!
wear it in good health!
-
Once again thanks for all your kind words!
For sure I have many black and white and promise I'll try to buy a yellow dialed watch with a pink strap and red hands
And I must admit that "I accepted" indeed...but seriously, how could I have refuse such an honour in such a great team for a fantastic place
Cheers
Stephane
you need a red devil watch...:-)

I personally would not waste my money on a Rolex. Spend it on something special, unique - a connoisseur mark such as Maurice Lacroix, IWC, AP, Jaeger Lecoultre, or PF.
I learned fast that even if you wear a gen Rolex, most people assume its fake simply because of the name. So spare yourself and just get the rep rollie...
lacroix is a waste of money, depreciate like crazy. And are nothing special.
the rest I can agree with especially JL. (but what is PF?)

Royal Mail says thet Airsure, first class priority shipments from UK to another EU county takes 2-3 working days. Well, now my item has been sent last Friday, and the guy just called Royal Mail and he said that it's been sent to Heathrow 2/8 and it's still there... after 5 full working days.
Tracking gives the same information
We have received your item, posted on 01/08/08 and it is being processed for delivery abroad.
It's a valuable, fully insured packet so I'm not worried. I just wonder how f*cking difficult it is to put the damn package into the plane... to a destination country where there's probably 20 flights every day... from UK.
Royal Mail can suck my ****, I will never again use it for anything valuable. I'm not surprised they're losing their customers in a rapid rate. God save the Queen and Royal Mail!
Sorry guys, had to rant.
where r u in the UK?, am a lot on business in London. might be great to set up a GTG and show some rlx :-)))

Lani you are the man!

wow nice!
but ehh what time is it :-))

Mine is still running like a champ, as is my Explorer II with the CHS movement.
with the gmt hand not in sync :-)
-
Just for the record Freddy:
My CHS GMT is dead. Well... it keeps running in COSC standards too, but the hour hand gear is worn out and the hour hand doesn't move.
Other than that, great rep... I love the correct hand stack. Too bad it can't perform the simplest of task... showing time.
Mine is showing time, just do not know on which planet..
