  1. Laz, i went on a hunt for the perfect rep.

So i bought a gen, and then some.. but "I STILL WANT THE PERFECT REP"

I want an RWG piece, which has been owned or worked on by the most experienced and knowledgeable RWG member. (RLX duhh.. )

Then i want their names on the inside instead of gelena shitinerand.. Would be a cool thing to crown a perfect rep.

If only I could as easily mail stuff around as most of you guys...

I want the perfect rep! That is why i keep reading.

(The IIc is very very close imho. except for the movement being a POS.)

The perfect rep is the holey grail, and it will never come..

Still chasing it is a blast..

  2. Lovely story, lovely watches. Hope the goons from Rlx are reading :D

yeah.. but could not care less..

I'd be welcome now as a member but would have been sniffed at 2 years ago. so no thx...

Rwg only, reps are more fun then gens even though.. you know.. :-))

  3. Thx guys.. and ehh mr moderator :-))

A few years ago i would not have had the balls either.. but through this site I learned they are keeping their value..

So now it i not money spent but an investment, and with the stock performance over the past year I can not complain that my dineros where in rlx steel :-))

  4. Gents,

When I arrived here a few years ago i was the proud owner of a Tissot, and a few cheap asian clones. (Tag, Omega etc)

The dream always was a GMT II, after getting a lot of spam I started digging into the rep world and ended up here.

I found out soon enough that the only reps I wanted where of Ubi, Euno, Freddy or ll..llllTribal quality.

IHS was a no go, and I set my eyes on a daytona, dreaming of Ubi's babies.

But I did the math, a few super reps (the HBB, a daytona) would break the bank the same way a very good deal on a used gen

So I kept an eye on the local internet auctions, and I managed to find a GMT II for a very very good price with papers and box etc.

That one got me hooked, and after my son was born I gave it to him.. well he will get it when he is 18.

The Exp II was a gift to my wife. For 9 months of hard work, "producing" the apple of my eye.

My wife inherited some money from her late grandfather, who used to work on a submarine.

Well, what better way to honor him then investing that money in a timeless piece, we had to wait for almost a year but then I won an aution an this week the 14060M just made the collection complete.

So I m the one with the RLX bug, but my wife has two and my son one... i'm left with none... (well 16.5 years of use left on the gmt II :-))) so that is why you see a 4th on the pictures. But that lady is as you know a tramp.. :-((

Reps bad for the watch industry? I beg to differ.. And i am not the only one who started buying gens after being bitten by the rep bug..

It's been a great ride here, thx for all your postings, patience etc!

  5. I have one of these 100% broken as well. No spare parts are available. When the hour hand gear is worn out, the movement is trashable. The Zigmeister won't touch it, and my repairman won't touch it (because it can't be fixed).

I'm going to replace my CHS with good old wrong hand stack movement. I'm over and out with this crap movement. I suggest you do the same.

Don't make me cry like a baby who lost his teddy

  6. gr8 watch, wrong hand.. :-))

Assad on it, would not wear this while traveling to the US and don't know if my friends from the promised land would think that this is very funny.. but i'd love to have it. if it is yours then it is a cool catch

  7. Great review.

It looks like they followed the design of the Seconds at 3 model and installed jewels where they could. Other than the silver transfer gear over the cannon pinion/hour wheel (which you can't add a jewel to), it looks basically the same as the seconds at 3 model.

Based on your pictures and lack of reports of failures with the seconds at 3 model, I think this new model is going to be just fine.

    Thanks for posting the pics.

    RG

Now this is really getting interesting, can this model be services in advance (graphite?) to enhance it s chances?

  8. I had not noticed until a later post that the thread creator will be picking the watch up at an AD. SO, it sounds like a pretty safe bet to me! Its ALWAYS nice to do business locally. Thats why I love (in a non-broke-back-mountain kinda way) my SoCal brothers!

    well mr brokeback.. :-))

I will not do the pick up there but the transfer, (they can do the resizing as well :-))

Already had one guy back out of a deal since I insisted on a transfer there.. No one wants to sell a fake at an AD .-))

now I will keep the fingers crossed and pick it up on Wday..

  9. There is no 14060 without lugholes... ;)

And the size is like the Sea-dweller, only thinner case and bezel. Insert also fits from SD and contrariwise.

Ask tribal, he installed a 14060 dial in a SSD without problems.

I read here on the forum that some members want to built a no date sub from a nob case with gen dial, but I think the dial is to small for the case. Othewise a gen 16610 dial can not be installed in a noob-case without grinding the dial to a smaller diameter - so maybe it fits...

The size and the lack of the date and the fact that I did not see a very good 14060M here in the past year made me go looking for one..

Omega, do zou know an answer to the rolexrolexrolex riddle?

is it on every z serial.. am afraid it is.. only yuck thing about this watch

  10. What he said X5

    gents,

thx for the feedback highly appreciated.

my online rlx hunting goes a bit different. I never buy of traders or highlz experienced semi commercial sales man.

i try to look for the not so experienced people who do one or two trades per year over several years, furthermore i want their name on the certi and or people with a very well paid job.

hence people who have something to loose, in this country legal claims are easy and on public record.

served me very well untill now

this time, i have the name on the certi, a local serial, local ad. We will do the transfer at that AD.

hopefully all goes well, what do you guys think about the price (I bailed out much earlier but my wife wanted it... I have patience...)

  11. 2007? With lugholes ?

I thought there were no lug holes in any sub since 2005 ?!

    post-3477-1215985984_thumb.jpg

z serial, from a watchuseek post, inc lugholes, afaik the only sub with lugholes left is the 14060M.

have not been able to find confirmation otherwise, thx though for the heads up

  12. Looks definitely gen, but it's always difficult to tell when camera-illiterate people take the shots.

I mean, how it is even possible to take pictures like that... must have been a serious effort.

these are crops, the original large versions are even worse :-))

could get some detail in by adjusting lighting..

when it is here I will take better pics..
