  1. For unlucky few that got their watches sized (me included) did the dealer offer to replace the watch?
  2. I also had a letter yesterday. I guess the question now is how long this will last and will other brands do the same.
  3. Hey mate, are there any evidence supporting that only watches under the Richmond umbrella are sized? If custom policy towards counterfeit goods have change, it would be natural to assume that all known brands are to be sized. Otherwise customs are effectively saying we don't care if you import a counterfeit Rolex, but if it’s an IWC or any other of the Richmond watchs you have a problem. From my very limited legal knowledge such a policy would expose the custom department for gigantic lawsuits from the other brands.
  4. PeteM, do you have any idea how long the package sat with custom before the decision was made to free one and release one? Also in respect to the OP; no change on the tracing status, nor any communication from custom. Will keep you posted.
  5. Thanks iyare, please let me know if and when you received the package. My main concern now is future purchase
  6. My package included one JLC Diver, One Hublot screw and a Panerai buckle. If the above information is correct, the buckle turned out to be more expensive than expected
  7. Hi Again, To the best of my knowledge we both used the same TD and both package included one watch only. Post date: 31/7/12 and 02/08/12 Sized same time and date I have the QP, but the senders details can't be seen. Previous shipments from this dealer have been the standard polystyrene box with yellow tape I've been in touch with the dealer, his response was that this was the first UK seizure he knew about. I believe "Pete and Old" has some additional information from the dealer he might want to share? Has any of the UK members received any watches lately? Again I would like to thank all of you for taking part of this conversation
  8. Dear All, Thanks for the advice. I believe PeteM's "free gift" idea is brilliant and to be followed, if/when the custom agents are to contact me. "Pete and Old" sorry to say , but your package got sized 1 minute before mine, if you click for the "redelivery" button you are likely to see that your address has been changed to "Customer Seizure “. Please let me know if anything changes on your side. Will keep you posted on the development
  9. Thanks for all advice thus far. One watch only and shipped with EMS. I guess the question now is, should I call custom? The strange thing is that the package contains a JLC Diver, I always assume (ignorantly) that more known brands would be more likely to be seized. Not a plastic JLC
  10. Yes and no, on the EMS site that’s usually the status before it gets released. However in this case the its says "Handed over to custom", more so the address have changed from my address to: CUSTOMS SEIZURE. Also the status is now “Deliver”, but as stated I might be wrong I certainly hope I am wrong..
  11. Dear All, First of thank you all for readying and all advice would be greatly appreciated. My questions are, have anyone of you ever had a UK shipment seized by custom? If so did you contact Parcel Force? Or would the best cause of action be not acknowledge the packed and recognize the loss? Over the last few year i have had numerous packages sent without any problems, hence I was somewhat surprised when the following message was shown: Deliver address: XXXXXXXX Court, XX XXXXX Road, CUSTOMS SEIZURE CV3 4PF Followed by: Status: Delivered : Parcel tracks: Date Time Location Tracking Event -xx-2012 16:59 International Hub Handed to Customs xx-xx-2012 16:59 International Hub Forwarded for UK processing xx-xx-2012 16:02 International Hub Awaiting Customs clearance xx-xx-2012 16:01 International Hub Received in destination country xx-xx-2012 23:44 Delivery Agent - GUANGZHOU - PTT Forwarded for export xx-xx-2012 20:15 Delivery Agent - CHINA Collected from customer Maybe to more relavant questions should be, is this the start of a new area? or just bad luck. Note: This is only based on the information from the online tracker, so it might be subject to changes and/or error. Thank you in advance for all help. Best regards, Andy
  12. I know some dealers will ask for the serial number if your watch before selling a Gen strap, I guess you can get around that by picking a serial number from an online resource. Saying that I don’t know if a gen strap will fit or the cost of such a strap. In respect to AP Bands; my strap (Dark Brown) is as the name says slightly darker than the original, maybe (stressing the maybe) closer to what the original will look like after some wrist time. In respect to the stitching I don’t see any difference, over all I the watch looks amazing. I would recommend it..
  13. Hi and Welcome, Recently bought a Safari from a TD – although it has some minor faults such as; the colour of the dial is slightly off, pusher are not 100% as per Gen and a movement that some fellow members will characterise as troublesome e.g. the likely to require some attention within 1-3 years pending on wear and luck. (I have 5 AP ROO all less that 2 years old; of witch 2 have required a service) The give away on this particular model is that strap, as the strap provided by the rep factories are horrible. This can easy be corrected with a replacement from AP Bands or a similar strap provider, however somewhat costly pending on your point of view. I opted personally for this solution and am very happy with the outcome. Note: this is only my personal opinion and pls read other threads by ppl much more experienced than myself Good luck
  14. MM..MM I've had one of these for 1 year++ now. Not an expert in anyway, but still no sign of wear on the platting
