  1. King confirmed me that it's a 3135. 3035 is all sold out! No 2892 available. Price quoted is between 2000 and 2500 USD so seems she's quoting a different price every time.

    I've seen old datejusts on ebay go for as low as $1000-2000 with 3035

    I've seen them also, so I would go for one of this before paying 2500 for a rep.

  2. So thats the replacement DJ datwheel modded to be an overlay? isn't it too thick?

    Is quite thick, so you have to file the original DW and lift up the dial. Also, you might have to change the the hour pinion to a higher one to avoid touching the dial... you may want to lift up also the movement, but then get ready to solve a stem misalignment.

  3. Thanks my friends for your kind words... I always wanted to have a SS DJ... I missed a good opportunity from my mate Manuel and now I have a pretty good one... I will replace the dial for a roman numerals one as soon as I have cash again ;) Now waiting for a good SS oyster bracelet and in search for a genuine clasp...

  4. fun project!

    My only question is, What is a 16214? I've never seen that model? Is it marked between the lugs with that? Usually, the smooth bezel 'modern' DJ is 16200. but that sounds intriguing.

    According to Rolex case designation,

    162 = Datejust

    1 = Finely Engine Turned

    4 = Stainless with 18K WG

    So with that number, it should be a SS Datejust case with Finely Engine Turned Bezel in 18K WG.

    That looks like a polished SS bezel.

    Best of luck and I look forward to seeing the results.

    Proably my mistake the numbering... surly it's a 16200... so bezel is polished SS...

  5. Um Victoria we have had many such raffles, where members pay real money for tickets to win watches that have been donated by the collectors, however there are other problems at the moment that make this less feasible right now.

    Ken

    Ken... it seems from your words that there are some other problems than financials only... please let us know if we can help in another way...

  6. EMS in Spain works with the state mail .... so guarantee customs problems .... so avoid it

    Can't agree on it @amk... I've got many watches through EMS and no problem at all. State mail is not so restrictive or it may be because they don't have much control... but I had to pay customs (not sizing) only with UPS and MRW... so I would use USPS (that has correspondence with State mail once in Spain) and certainly there's no need for tracking when sending to Spain.

  7. Vmena, FxrAndy, HE JUST REPLIED!

    So if you guys don't get a reply soon, please let me know, since I have his "ear", as it were. Just about to pay now, so it's all systems go here.

    Good luck! I did direct him to this post, so if you guys have any questions, post them -- Jay might see them. :)

    @u31st: I wish I could give you the payment info he gave me, but I think that's streng verboten on the forum. However, I just emailed him my payment details, and said to please answer the past emails with pending orders. We'll see!

    Hope he is hearing you! no news from him yet...

  8. It means that for 16200 the correct movement it's a 2824... and that 2836 is for 160xx movements (3035 movement)... any expert around ;)

    Stilty,

    you are in right! B)

    To solve the misalignment I leave the O-ring on the tube.

    And just one bit, I get oval the hole.

    Now it works fine and the crown can be fitted in position.

    Sure the best is to get another mouthement ............Mido foe Exemple! ;)

    But this, is for the future update.

    Se picture please
