A loupe! Brilliant idea! I'm trying that for sure.Almost all my pics are with my iPhone 6+. For macros, I may use my olloclio, but usually too lazy to take the phone out of its case, so I simply hold a 10x loupe and press it firmly against the case and zoom in just enuff to crop out the visible area of the loupe. But you are right, good lighting is key in any photography.

My Galaxy S4 can take great pics but I haven't figured out all of the settings or modes for it, so I'm not taking advantage of any of the capabilities. Before I know it, the time will come to upgrade to the S6 and I'll have to learn it all over again.

Thanks for the salutations, guys! It is good to be back here! My new handmade strap arrived for it yesterday. I'm going to put her new shoes on today and give it a whirl.

That is indeed perfection right there. That is an heirloom piece.
How do you take your pics? Do you use a DSLR and any special lighting? How do you get such amazing shots? Even your wristies look like DSLR shots.

Beautiful piece! Enjoy it.

Very nice piece. I'm quickly falling in love with this one.

Finally works for me, and I've been trying every hour since Sunday on all of my devices. Thanks for all of the hard work. This stuff can't be easy.

It was my birthday yesterday and I couldn't get on here to post this, so here is what I was wearing yesterday. It paired nicely with this wine, which paired even better with rib eyes on the grill.

Stan is awesome. I know him from RG. Have you bought any of his Burberry scarves at Christmas? They are damned spot on to the genuine. They are soft as hell, he has every color option, and the price is killer. They make the best gifts or just stock up for yourself. $20!Thanks
Got this from Stan "wbk" over on RWI. Great guy located in U.S. So easy and quick shipping.

Very nice! Who was the dealer?Just received this one. Needed a white dialed dress watch to wear with suits and I like the 39mm size. Strap needs to be changed but deployment buckle is nice. Nice piece on the cheap. First OTB I have bought in a long time. I don't see these around either which is cool.
Very nice piece for the money.

I also love your vintage Daytona!

Awesome! Good luck. Would love to see pics when you get it. I was emailing him recently about a rivet. He is great with communication.Just ordered 2 from Riyi, will check his out. Will also ask StoneP and mymanmatt

Also, riyi02 (or 002) on ebay is a great seller. Lots of members on the forums have purchased from him. Great quality bracelets. Ask him in email for the Rolex markings. He shows pics of sterile but can email you pics of the branded version. People have said his jubilee is excellent quality.

Great point. Now that I think about it, the pics I have are indeed of 5510s.It's mostly based on the dial variations that he has full scans of, once the dial is chosen the shade of lume is discussed.. So yes if I wanted to I could have the 6pm marker done a few shades lighter then the rest. I found that some gens do have this feature and some don't, I have no idea why this was done on some and not others and so for that reason I've never bothered to do have it done. It was very prevalent on 5510 dials, I suppose if I were to make one of those I'd be inclined to do that.
That might be a fun thing to try on a budget build, where the stakes are so low.

Sort of a new thought here - have you seen any of the radium dials with the white 6 o'clock marker? I have a couple of articles bookmarked on Hodinkee and another vintage site where they discuss some of these early sub dials and how Rolex made the 6 o'clock marker white to denote that it was a radium dial. Seeing these incredible builds got me thinking about the Voldemort dials. As a buyer, can you ask him to craft a dial in a particular fashion, or does he just recreate/refinish it based on how that particular one would have been?

Wow. It's really distinctive and in fantastic condition. Is that the original pearl?
-
How did you score that insert?
-
Can't wait to see it!
-
Yeah, as others have stated that seems to be the going rate for these but with an oyster bracelet. I think they are one of the best values, hands down, considering you are getting a 3185 under the hood!
That said, these are here in the States. Is it a US based seller or over in your neck of the woods?

@cc33 - here's my feeble attempt to keep up with your glorious new acquisition!

^ It doesn't get any more genuine than that.
New hands/bracelet/bevels for the big crown.
