  1. :) and once again my Singaporean Brother, you convert me ! lol i think in my world of crushing bad people in Courts on an almost weekly basis ive been tainted by things ! but thats for another chat on another platform bro :) cheers and put a shrimp on the Barbie !

    :)

    And all's good mate..

Remember this is RWG. A place where discussions of reps takes precedence over collections of gens..

Lets remember that and not put our fellow members down over our personal gen collections, wealth, cars etc.

    You'll do well mate. :)

  2. Brother I never insinuated I own a Ferrari :) can't afford one and not for me even if I could.

Fwiw my kids are my status you know that already from off here.

    Hey bro

As long as you are sincere and genuine and don't bring any of that "G-up" stuff down here, you know that you are more than welcome, being the otherwise gentlemanly guy you are.

I think that owning x number of gens, or belonging to y number of gen forums here, or driving any brand of car, or being the owner of any mythical status credit card here, has zero bearing on the respect that we would gain. I know of a very senior member of the community here, who lives among the polar bears, who has a sizeable fortune in his watch collection, but yet embodies the epitome of humility and down-to earth family values. I know of another here, who lives in Indonesia, son of a mining tycoon, bathes in money daily, and humble as a peasant in the bread line queue.

In this community, we gain respect and trust by being respectful and trustworthy, by helping others less fortunate or less abled than ourselves, and by sharing our knowledge and resources. A guy like this, driving a 20 year old beat up toyota, will be more respected than the dickhead in that spanking new Porsche, who goes around showing off his car and doing nothing very much else.

I know that you are essentially a good guy. But you need to come to understand that true respect is not built on visible material possessions. I have long ceased to be impressed by, or envious of the guy stepping out of his Ferrari. That is his life, and I have mine.

  3. Yep ill remember when im on holidays not to post pics of Red Ferrari's in a Shopping mall that was for a Raffle for the Deaf and Dumb society to raise funds :)

You can of course post anything mate.

What I'm against is posting them and insinuating ownership and then using that to clobber others with the perceived status and superiority.

    That's not cool bro.

    AJ,

Do you know if yours came with the sapphire glass or plexi one please?

  5. thanks Legend...that was what i thought. so the datewheels he is selling here appear to work with lwo283 swiss movement?

I am thinking of modding an ap roo and i am looking at swiss movement options. Just starting to do research now. The simpler method appears to just do a swiss eta 7750...whereas the lwo283 takes more work and is more complicated. is this a correct assessment?

Yes, Edge's datewheels are for the LWO283 movement primarily.

The LWO283 movement is one commonly used for the franken ROO projects. But for it to be integrated fully into a watch, a lot of work is needed, like a genuine dial, genuine hands are good but optional, and modification of the case for the new crown position.

You are right about the ETA7750 movement replacement being a simpler option. The rep dial can still be used, and the case needs no modding. The only one I know who does this mod is Domi who is based in Germany. You may wish to send him an email. PM me if you wish to know the address.

  6. A quick google of the email give a link to a site where he scammed other people too. http://www.epicnpc.com/threads/23790-Sydor-H-P-Leveling-and-Gold-Farming!!

Sorry you had to take the hit Matt, scammers are just shite. I've been done by a watchsmith over on the geek. Ssteel knows all about that one too!

Ah, so he scams not just in this hobby, but also in his gaming one.

Its just sad how some folks live their lives.

  7. Seems he was selling rep watches on ebay and claimed they were gen. Probably what happened with mine. Sold it, they returned it as fake. Opened a claim with pp. 100% scammer

Matt, how much did you lose? If there is anything I can do to mitigate your loss, I would be happy to!

This is more than a polite offer. I have helped some guys here, and I would be happy to do the same for you.

  8. Why would you make this comment, I think that this Mr. Z can speak for himself. This attitude that you have to know some cousin of a cousin and recite the secret password to make a purchase is ridiculous. You have new member who truly want to be part of a forum and you make them feel really unwelcome with this attitude.

    Beachcomber

When I first joined here I never just piped up and said I want one , I learnt my way around AP as much as I could for months before I even asked if I could by such a peice, and yes I have Gens Ap and Rolex, but i gained the trust and respect from very long established members, there is no password and no secret club but I can assure you these kind of peices are in general offered to those members first not someone who has been a member for a week and with little or no feedback.

And the same generally goes for some of the GEN forums I belong too.

Apologies if any offence was taken

    JordanF1,

Whether you own gens or not has absolutely zero bearing on what beachcomber said.

You can own 100 gens and still act like a dick to others. You can belong to 1000 gen forums and still look like an ass.

I have told you before, don't bring your "G-up game" here bro. I will not give you one ounce more respect simply because you own gens.

I will still shoot you down like a clay pigeon, a genuine $100k watch on your wrist, a condescending smirk on your face and all.

There was no need to mention about your gens. That was being extraneous, contentious and defensive.

Remember the thread you started before, where @martijn, @daytona1984 and I were also part of? So please mate, tone it down.

I do not care how many gens you own (or how many you don't own). Respect has to be maintained. And even if you REALLY want to play your G-up game and post your "gens" and "ferraris" in here, you know how quickly you would be taken apart, if the pics do not tell true stories.

Beachcomber was simply making a point about being inclusive (though yes you did bring up valid facts) as a member of the forum but it is important for the newbie to understand why it could be harder for him to buy a watch like this, rather than giving him the feeling that he was being stomped on.

So I ask you once more, REFRAIN from trying to impress or put others down with stuff you do not have mate. Even if you own $1million worth of gens, stay in a castle served by 100 butlers, and commute daily in an aircraft to the office, I will still not hesitate to bring you down to size if you show me any disrespect. So whether you own gens or not, or belong to any "GEN forums (why the CAPS?)" or not, it is irrelevant in the discussion. Keep it as your personal knowledge.

  9. No problemo Legend. Was just being sarcastic. I know where you guys were coming from. I don't spend much time on forums, but I definitely see plenty of value in this place. This project alone proves that to me.

I had no intentions to stomp on you "while you were down" mate, and if my posts were misconstrued as such, I do apologize.

I do look forward to having you stay around, and contributing meaningfully here.

Have a lovely Friday sir. :)
