  1. I would hardly call myself an Internet tough guy. But I'm not shrinking violet. Integrity is knowing when you're wrong and admitting it, even on something as simple and frivolous as this. I was wrong; it's not a fantasy watch. That does not stop it from being unattractive, gauche and completely out-of-touch with style. But since I am not married to him, not his boss and do not pay his bills, I guess what someone says on an Internet discussion forum is immaterial.

But I am the Fashion Police and this watch is a violation. You are welcome to take this up with the judge if you feel you've been given this ticket in error. Mickey, you can defend him. But how on earth can you defend the indefensible? :p

Everyone has their own unique taste, and while I agree this watch is not something everyone can agree is a work of beauty, I find it has a pretty unique look and you know what - its not half bad in my opinion, definitely not something I would wear, but not something I hate, either. I think the Hublot big bang is a real ugly work of watch and guess what... everyone disagrees with me, but I don't get emotional about it.... relax my friend....

  2. There's only so many watches in this world... you will inevitably always have one other person who wears the same watch you do, unless you design and build your own or buy a limited edition model. I think its just a question of dealing with it and knowing that, more than likely, you have the same look for thousands less.

  3. I think a clock would be such a great idea! I would like it to be customizable so you could have your favorite brand telling you the time...

Pugwash: Of course you don't need to have that kind of stuff, but its fun! Nobody needs to see a picture of some disgruntled sea creature with the text "somebody be stolen my bucket" but its fun and clever... this forum has many things it doesn't really need..... a little fully-functioning clock would be an excellent addition, I'm in!

  4. Cool! Those tourist destinations always have great ADs with the high-end brands, Miami must be no exception - lots of wealthy residents.

Since I always wear reps, I try usually to hide it in a pocket when I go inside... but that watch is so good you need'nt worry, only an expert in that particular brand from Switzerland could tell it was a fake...

  5. If it was me I would scour the vintage market because for $900-$1000 you can get some sharp old Rolexes, Omegas, and so on....

The Breitling ColtOcean is, in my opinion, a real work of s--t, hideous bargain basement design, atrocious value for money, definitely upgrade to a superocean if you want this style.

Seiko is too low a brand to spend more than $500...

The FORTIS chronograph suggested by Nanuq would definitely be my #1 out of all of the suggestions here, I like that it has a day-date complication and the swiss movement means reliable chronograph... but still it doesn't have the "look factor" of a high-end brand.

    But why not save up a little longer and get something with real value? This item is selling on ebay for $6,500. It is 44mm and made by perhaps the finest manufacturer in the world;

And the value of that watch will only go up!

  6. By all means be thankful that your wives take an interest (and even your watches). It will surely make it easier for you to grow your collections. My wife could care less and insists on wearing her tiny ladies Timex in lieu of several nice gens that I have bought her over the years.

Imagine having a wife whose an environmentalist and thinks the counterfeit market is ethically and morally wrong.

The Rolex 16613BL "TT Sub" would definitely have to be the watch I get noticed in most.

In my neck of the woods, people don't have a clue about watches... they only know "Rolex" and assume its the most expensive brand. I have had many people just gaze into this watch... it's blingy without a single diamond. On a nice, warm sunny day with short sleeves its the perfect timepiece, for the light gracefully beams in every direction and the blue face just perfectly sparkles and twinkles.... I love this watch... it's one of my favorites.

Gosh, in second place it would have to be my Sky-Moon, not because it's an expensive patek, but just because its so unusual and people often find the layout and design quite neat and fresh.

  8. Silix, Joshua, all dropship...

Only a select few of them inspect. Narikaa is my most trusted dealer for this right now. But, I assume his access to the "14K as opposed to 18K reps" is limited, though I'm unsure. I dunno how he gets his... I assume he just browses the markets... and would you really trust a counterfeit goods shopkeeper working in some guangzhou streestcorner?
