  1. I hate to say it, but this gentleman is the epitome of "rep noob". My first watch was a full gold DayDate, and I didn't realize how stupid I looked wearing it until recently... now imagine the same with diamonds on it... oh heavens.

I bet you in a few months he will look at those bling watches with disgust in favor of Panerai, Omega, Tag, Patek, or VC!

  2. It's experiences like this that cause me to say I will never, ever, in the history of forever, purchase another drop-shipped watch.

I ordered two watches from Narikaa not too long ago and the service is incomparable. The price was even lower if you think about it... it's really shocking. Narikaa could EASILY charge double for his services and still have waves of customers because there is NO COMPARISON for having a HONEST INDIVIDUAL actually inspect a watch prior to shipping.

  3. Since budgets for these hollywood flicks is usually in the millions, I wouldn't be surprised if they could afford to write watches into their wardrobe costs. However, I do recall several films (Charly Angel's I believe) where a very obviously fake Rolex Daytona was seen in close-up.

The majority of films/shows I've seen however, the expensive watches are real. I'm pretty sure they can afford it. Even "Tim the tool man taylor" on "Home Improvement" and several characters on "George Lopez Show" wear Rolex.

  4. That is a cheap asian replica. The whole watch shouldn't be more than $100. If the bracelet fits it would be worth buying the whole watch for the bracelet.

It would also be interesting to find out if the clasp can be switched as well.

I could not possibly agree more with you. It is not a functioning chronograph, it is a bottom line Asian 21J "fun" homage to the original.

  5. The watch arrives about 7 days later at my doorstep and its the wrong gd watch.

Y'know, why is it that whenever this happens, the watch you get is always somehow inferior to the one you ordered? They never "slip up" and accidentally send you say... a solid gold DayDate or Rose Gold HBB, but some quartz sub with supa dupa invisible lume and offset p-p-p-pearl

  6. Although I agree with you that the manufacture seems to have slowed down, just looking at the wrist-checks tells a different story. Many times, around 1/3 of posters have some PAM. Yes, new models used to be produced frequently, but after you replicate them all... what's left?

I think they are still trendy, great looking watches that have certainly not gone out of style just yet.

I don't care what anybody says.

That word is among the top ten funnest to pronounce.

(I would love to see more rep pocket watches, but I don't think there's too big a market for it these days. I doubt we will see them any time soon, and if China did make one of those things you mention, it would probably break after about 3 consecutive uses...)

  8. Nautilus is elegant, even dainty in its own way (the dial), but for ME at least, one of the quintessential guy watches out there.

You know that's true if you have only seen it in pictures, and not in person. The first thing I noticed when looking at this watch inside a well-lit room is that it's like having a hundred tiny little mirrors strapped around your wrist, reflecting everything in sight, glistening like fresh droplets of morning rain on the palm leaves... (I really need to get our of this weather... even my analogies are about Florida...) In fact, I think this watch is the perfect example of the new "so manly it makes a statement" when being worn by a lady. A lot of celebrities are starting this trend, and most are doing a great job pulling it off. It's so sleek and elegant, so precisely built, there is nothing that compares really.

Thanks for the kind words. 12 hours now and still ticking up a storm.

Fresh in the mail.... but I am quite concerned... today it stopped unexpectedly while I was in the bathroom, I am hoping *and praying* it was just because I was doing a lot of stationary desk-work today, and the charge was quite low and it just wasn't wound enough. once again my heart was racing, but since the abrupt stall it has been functioning perfectly for the past five hours. Hopefully it isn't some kind of problem where it always stops at that particular time... otherwise I will be very disappointed, but so far, so good, it's going to be tough getting through the night though.

  10. Personally, I think these watches are amongst the poorest representations of the brand. There are some really mesmerizing and jaw-dropping Breitlings out there, both highly complicated and standard, which would be ten times nicer to see repped. Moreover, there are some fantastic Breitlings already being produced that could use a few minor improvements to become real best-sellers. These new models from Breitling look like someone took a Submariner and said "let's design a watch like this" and, on that particular day, the design division was a little exhausted and wanted to go home early.
