  1. Oh my gosh... that is a beautiful watch! I remember there used to be a rep similar to this but very poor, it definitely seems like they've made a huge improvement with this redesign. However, I would be weary of buying it because of the ridiculous amount of complications. The strain all of those must put on the already flimsy Asian 7750 could be very damaging. If you read the description of the movement, it makes no mention of it being the Asian 7750 "v2" with 28,800 BPH. I certainly wouldn't be surprised if this model has the old v1 A7750... in that case, I will definitely not be getting it. All the same, since I already own the SMP Chrono which is a very similar piece really...

  2. I never ever, under any circumstance, wear any wristwatch to the gym. I can't count the number of times I have bumped my wrist against something, or someone has bumped something into me, and I always say "thank goodness for the no-watch rule or there would be a lot of little pieces on the floor right now!"

  3. I've been feeling a little sick lately so today I decided to take it easy, stay in bed and watch some movies. I decided to give this one a try after hearing all of the positive comments I read in this topic. I must say, it is a fabulously well executed biographical drama that had me soaring through a vast range of emotions and, to top it off, contained some truly remarkable music from a world-famous singer that I previously knew absolutely nothing about. A little on the long side, I was snoozing at some points but there was always something interesting going on to pull me back into the film. I had a hard time understanding the French, and definitely recommend even fluent modern-day Francophones to give English subtitles a try. All in all, it's a keeper of a movie that really causes one to reflect. A+ !

I also watched the thrilling Shoot 'Em Up and had great fun with it, especially since it was such a perfect contrast to La Vie en Rose.

  4. I respect the A. Silberstein brand... I think the watch design is clever and would look very good on the wrist of a little boy; with all of those cute smiley faces and vibrant colors I'm sure he and his elementary school teacher would get a kick out of it!

HOWEVER, I feel it is outrageous that the factories cannot squeeze the pennies together to fix the godforsaken disaster that is the converted seconds at six daytona movement but can, on the other hand, invest thousands into replicating so accurately a watch that can only be described as "extremely unpopular". It's absolutely illogical.

  5. Nice watch! I have a similar model, but different subdial layout. I like to wear it when I don't want my wrist to attract unwanted attention.

I heard that a product called "Cape Cod Cloth" is good for buffing that out as well... maybe next time you can try it yourself.

  6. So I have chosen a rep that I like..

    Most important question:

    "Can I afford this watch?"

    Follow up questions:

"What do I like about this watch?" (There should be many things)

"Is this a watch that I will want to put on in the morning, or am I just curious to see how it feels?" <Yes=keep going

"Does the watch contain a reliable and robust movement?" <No=stop.

"What do RWGers say about this timepiece?" <If other users report issues or problems with the watch, I will be cautious. But here I often make up my own mind.

"How accurate is the watch and do I care?" <Often, I don't very much. I like it to be close to the gen but I hardly care of the case size is 0.03cm off from the gen like some folks here do..

"Is this watch unique enough from the others in my collection to justify a purchase?" (I have a very small but diverse collection. I like to give each watch the time it deserves, and as such I do not want any repetitions.)

My next step is mailing Narikaa and asking him when his next departure is and giving the details and there ya go... Corgi buys a new watch!

Sometimes, albeit rarely, I buy something even when I'm still unsure.... like the MBK Nautilus, I bought it solely on the opinions of others but it ended up a tremendous success.

  7. Antiquorum do this very frequently... I really like to have a close-up look at the complicated watches because their beauty is just as visible under a microscope as it is from far away.

I was always wondering, though, if these are real photographs or just computerized drawings... they seem so "perfect" in the pictures that its hard to believe somebody actually shot that with a camera...

  8. At first I thought something was loose and flopping around in my YM because it honestly sounded like a screw someone dropped in the case moving around. I took the caseback off and it was just the rotor making noise as it spun.

Exactly... it happens in almost every single one of my reps to some extent... If there was indeed something loose in there I doubt the watch would have lasted this long anyhow!

  9. One of the most exclusive (read: only) jewelry stores in the capital of canada, and only one of two in the city to carry Rolex, has a giant mural of this horological catastrophe hanging on the wall, right outside the store, beside the front entrance, that customers just can't miss.

Nothing gets the rednecks excited in the whole shopping mall (except maybe the pickup truck accessory store) like that poster though... my goodness.. more pointing and "hootin' n' hollerin'" than a monster-truck show!
