  1. Whenever I see somebody wearing a luxury watch, I definitely feel impressed. Different watches bring up different connotations of course;

Rolex: either a Federal government employee or fake, depending on the rest of appearance. (understand this is ottawa, of course)

Panerai: I have only seen one of these. The young gentleman wearing it had the "downs syndrome" I'm pretty sure. At least he looked, sounded, and smelled like it.

In fact these are the only luxury watches I've seen... so much for living in hicktown.

  2. This watch is tempting indeed.

But be advised, that gold plating will NOT last forever. Unless they have decided to improve their gold plate, these reps won't last over a year before they see tarnish on the inside.

Regardless of this and the subdial error, the watch is simply majestic. I would be proud to own such a Breguet.

  3. >YAY! My first post on RWG. Discovering the forums now...Always passionate about wristwatches and everything about its world.

Welcome! I hope to see you in the wrist-checks!

PS: I like your signature... did you make it yourself?

  4. The one I bought doesn't have a screw in crown, I am not sure if the gen has it.

Thank goodness it doesn't have a screw in crown.... that is the worst part of most of my watches. The quality is atrocious, it wobbles around, and you can't screw it back without putting the date forward by one. Be HAPPY you didn't get the screw-in-crown because it just plain stinks.

  5. NARIKAA sells this watch. Contact him privately on these forums here... I believe its about 60 lbs + 6 lbs shipping... (england money)

I do not believe a gen skeleton Panerai exists. At least, not in the current collection (its not in the catalogue). However, I do recall reading a thread on a gen forum where somebody did manually convert his genuine to a skeleton...

  6. I have heard rumors that they are beginning to work on a more reliable secs@ 6 movement, but who knows how long that will take.

If this happens I will go broke. Sometimes I want for them not to make a reliable Daytona, because if they do, I won't be able to unleash the shopping spree from hell..

and don't forget if they make that movement, what else will show up - the mind-blowing Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph.

    ...its a scary thought.

  7. For me, watches are like gambling. Quit while you're ahead. The majority of mine are still working, I have ten, so that's about enough. For me, its all about the fashion accessories. Come march, I'm planning to get some new Armanis, cufflinks, briefcase, and so on... keychain.. wallet... I can't wait.

Right now I'm looking for a nice pair of sunglasses.

This weekend I am staying at home to catch up on some work :(

So I might as well give my very first rep a re-awakening. Sure, the hours and minutes hand may have completely misaligned, and yes, the gold has more peel than a banana, and it is a total noobwatch of course, but it still kind-of sort-of tells the time and by golly, I miss the old fella.

  9. There are some really flash Breitling (chrono evolution) right now, looks amazing in full gold, white face, brown strap.... gorgeous. I first encountered it when Narikaa posted some wristies and ever since then I've been hooked. It may just be the timepiece you're looking for! Don't forget, these Breitlings are very accurate to their original counterparts. There is also a lot of variety in both dial and strap configurations, even movement availability.

    Good luck!
