  1. I know I've been MIA lately (lost my formal job a while ago, working overtime from home and taking on lots of clients) so I haven't been online... especially when I come here and read MORE economic speculation and quasi-intellectual investment BS... but Andy your posts have always been so helpful - congratulations to you my friend and thanks for making this forum such a great place!!

  2. Patek is THE brand. ;) In the watch world, it is the undesputed King. We have just become too complacent with PAM this - PAM that. Throw in an ugly Concord C1 and everyone seems happy. Also, we seem to have lost creative rep energy to RepGeek.

For fun - I am going to try generate some Patek spin with some interesting stuff (maybe throw in something for the granddaddy VC). Anyone want to help.

    Regards.

    :good:

Want to be my new best friend?

  3. Patek Philippe is my favorite brand by far. MBK have given us two great reps so far: the Nautilus and the exquisite Aquanaut which is extremely accurate. I will buy a gen some day.

Until then I can only hope the rep manufacturers will try and broaden their horizon, perhaps releasing more accurate and more reliable models like the Calatrava, Gondolo, or Ellipse.

PS; the watch you showed is of a genuine vintage Patek.

  4. I love my bling version BCE with big extra accurate date font I wear it to many business trips for some reason. Good travel watch!

I bought the Breitling on impulse and at first was disappointed with some minor quibbles. I have since come to love the watch because of the compliments it gets me.

The diamond bezel, encrusted with 40 simulated stones, gives off a nice and realistic sparkle. I think it really makes the watch.

My Chronomat Evolution came with excellent lume. The picture above is digitally enhanced to give you the full Breitling experience.

This is a big "new money" watch with powerful in-your-face style. I recommend it for someone who wants to stick out of the crowd and look like a real big city player.

  5. An annual calendar will make the monthly adjustments as well I believe, but won't adjust for the correct year. A perpetual calendar will adjust for the correct year.

A regular watch like we get here in our reps will always max out to 31 and then back to 1, no matter what month it is. It's up to the wearer to catch up the difference.

  6. I have seen only three Blancpain reps ever produced in very limited run.

    1. Classic Leman with date.

    2. Classic Leman calendar.

    3. Leman Retrograde.

No blancpain chrono... sorry, I wish there was one though!

  7. I think the date setup on his Daytona originally came from a Glashutte!! I really like it though, actually today I asked myself what a Daytona would look like with a date window... surprisingly, not bad - if not a little too busy. The GMT master "III" looks very sharp, though.
