Yeah... Regs PAM collection was pretty ugly but have no place to be in the same ring with the Champ.

I wonder how the bezel is attached to the case on the Discovery. I'm not sure if it's possible to detach at all... unless the actual tachymeter ring has been glued to the bezel. Looks like it's made of some sort of aluminum material.

Other than this problem, how do you like the black version so far? It's very sporty with those red chrono hands and has (imho) quite a different "spirit" than the white. That being said, I like the black a lot as well.

Yeah, it's a good looking watch. Just like the GMTIIc.

However, I'm not too fond of the new bulkier lugs and crown guards. Somehow the GMTIIc leaves me cold as well... I can't explain it... somehow it lacks the "classic Rolex spirit".

But then again maybe I'm just getting old, boring and conservative.

@Doc: Looks definitely genuine to me.

The pearl isn't perfect. Especially in the macro shoots. I think BK has plenty of closeup shots of the pearl in his section.

In real life... well... for me it's good enough.

Nothing wrong with those pictures, either. Natural light works well.

do you have the Replay DVD? A Show Of Hands performance from Birmingham, NEC (1989) is spectacular! The picture quality isn't as good as it could be (the video is from VHS era) but that setlist and performance... well what can I say. From rock musicians only King Crimson in their prime (ok maybe Zappa's band too) have performed at the same level (imho).

They're still an amazing live band... one of the best, but not at the same level as they were back in HYF tour. Just imho.

Marathon is perfection.

Prime Mover has to be one of the best prog/synth/power pop-songs ever recorded.

Also if you have a copy of Neil Peart's "Road Show". The cover photo-- That was taken at Red Rocks Amphitheater. I was there, and am one of the dots about 23 rows back.

That looks like a great place. U2 has a live DVD from the Red Rocks. I wish Rush had recorded the S&A tour DVD there as well. But for some reason all their live videos are from Europe.

Hey 2005, you're a Eddie fan... check this out. You'd probably like it... Alex plays very "Eddiesque" guitar solo in this. It's some kind of bootleg recording (Palace of Auburn Hills, Michigan 1994) but pretty good quality (someone apparently had a video camera in the front row). Analog Kid is a genius of a song.

Turn the Page is another song that has amazing guitar work and overall playing. A Show of Hands live (Replay DVD) is Rush in their prime, imho. They were still in their early 30's and the band was playing sharp as a razor.

My first Rush show was 1994 in my NY trip. Saw Pink Floyd back in 1989 too (Momentary Lapse of Reason tour, first tour without Waters). Those are still the 2 best rock shows I've ever seen.

I was there at MSG. They had a double date but I only saw the first show.

I'd love to see Dave Matthews Band (I'm a huge fan). Amazing live band but they're completely unknown in Europe.

I got the watch today and today date and day wheels are perfectly aligned.

Anyway fonts are clearly wrong compared to ETA's font, it's an easy tell for watch geeks.

The thing is.. in my other 7750 watches i replaced wheels and i can't stand this flaw anymore.

And here I thought the white version was the first ever rep that has correct datewheel. This is what Takashi said:

Anyhow, it's interesting to see on gen "catalogue" picture black dial watch, it comes with standard ETA datewheel, however, in the white version (I have seen the gen), it uses Arial font (just like what the rep and gen is using).

Here's the gen. Not sure about the numbers but "MON" is 100% similar on my rep.

I don't mind the subdial spacing at all. It was obvious that they can't do it right (as the gen sports a expensive inhouse movement). But it's a shame they didn't replicate the BTR rotor. I don't care about it being a "flaw" but that rotor is one of the main draws on this watch.

I didn't even know Rush was a part of that (i live in Toronto),everyone went to see AC/DC but the Stones was the headliner,after AC/DC rocked the place and the Stones came out,people were already heading home...

I have that Toronto show on DVD. That was the show they did to promote Canadian tourism in the aftermath of the SARS scare.

And poor Justin Timberlake opening. According to reports he was booed and got bottles, eggs (among other things) thrown at him.

He had a lot of guts to show up there though.
