  1. It's the same old Noobfactory YM.

    1. The engraving doesn't look correct

    2. It's offcenter, just like on GMTIIc

This Noob YM is still a decent rep but go for the non-engraved version. Added engraving is simply a downgrade (accuracy wise).

  2. All Zenith El Primero watches are possible to do properly now too:

of course the whole Zenith El Primero classic lineup

    Ebel 1911 Chronograph

    TAG Heuer Calibre 36

Not that fond of the PO Chrono and the Moon Watch isn't too expensive to buy as a gen... but I'd love to see the Omega Broad Arrow replicated properly. These are much more expensive.

  3. Has the lady checked out the collectors wares or did she break a nail on the Search button?

    :D

I think DD/DJ/Exp I is a perfect size for women.

Here's my lady wearing the DD. Maybe not the most accurate rep in the world but still looks cool (although I'm not very objective in this particular case).

  4. Yeah, it's possible... and a logical explanation. But there's pm for that kind of questions.

I use the nick "Apocalypse" in 2 gen forums I have registered into. However, I'm now considering to change it to "BY-TOR FROM ILLEGAL COUNTERFEIT WATCH FORUMS" to avoid any future confusion. :tu:

Seriously: Thanks for the support guys. No big deal. Case closed (from my part). But I think this is generally a good topic about gen vs. rep forum etiquette.

  5. I just got it and I'm loving it! Everything is good except a little nick on the bezel but its barebly visible! My question is, can I replace the bezel on the beginmariner? And also do you guys suggest soaking the bracelet in wd40 for 15 minutes?

    My

I wouldn't mind a little nick on the bezel too much, personally. It's supposed to be a hardcore sports watch. And hardcore sports watches should have nicks and scratches.

Oiling the bracelet is essential. Leave the bracelet to any kind of oil overnight, and then rinse and wash in the morning. Then polish it with car wax. The difference after this treatment is quite dramatic.

  6. Yeah it certainly looks like the old version.

That's an ancient rep. I have a review of it though... it dates way back to 2005 and RWG1. It was reposted here later. By the standards of that era it was pretty good rep. Among the very few remotely accurate chrono reps.

By today's standards: Not so much. Check here for the article. If nothing else it's a nice trip back to the memory lane.

  7. I so want to reply to this person, but I figure it would draw more attention to the post, you and this/other boards...

Yeah good thinking, better to leave it at that. It was a mistake to post anything over there in the first place. I have an account in another (small) gen forum too... let's see how long it lasts before this same thing happens again.

    Thanks.

  8. @ammandel: It wasn't about me, really. As I said: I don't care as I don't frequent those forums... and I'm not really planning to. Sometimes it's just fun to chat with the gen guys and share some photos though... I don't see anything wrong with that. Many of them are here with their different nicknames + different "moral standards" too. I don't change my moral standards... to me watch is just a watch. Swiss or Chinese, doesn't make any difference. But I understand that some people don't see it that way.

The behavior of this guy (who commented my photo) is just something that pisses me off (generally). One day this same guy might "out" someone who has a long gen forum history, maybe even long sales history... and completely embarrasses him in front of his friends. References to counterfeit forums won't shine anyone's armor as a trader and will immediately raise questions. What if I want to sell my gen on TZ one day and someone (who performs a simple forum search) finds out that I'm involved with reps?

General watch people don't see places like RWG as we do. They don't know about the knowledge, friendships and the devotion to all kinds of watches... gens and reps. They only know they're "fakes" and "illegal".

Why did this guy do it? Because he wants to be a little forum smartass who "knows" things? Like I said... no big deal and I'm sure he meant no harm... but it was still a classless move.

  9. Hi Lazy Hazy,

first you have to clear your mind from bs, and all those useless versions of the Sub (from all dealers).

It's very simple. There are only 2-3 modern Sub reps that make any sense now.

    1. Noobmariner in the $100 - $200 range / Euromariner in $200 - $300 range

    2. WM9 Sub (the best Sub)

bklm1234 can source both the correct Noobmariner and WM9. Eurotimez can supply the "Euromariner". I wouldn't buy Rolexes from the dropshipping dealers simply because there's no guarantee what they actually ship. King especially.

You only search for those and decide what you want to buy. Don't make a simple matter more complicated than it is.

    Good luck.

  10. Sounds really good.

There is a huge demand for a EU-based watchsmith. It's a small miracle that nobody ever came forward to fill that big gap. It has good potential, financially as well.

Let's hope he's as good, reliable and consistent as you guys say. The communication sounds a bit problematic though (if he doesn't speak English). When you perform mods, repairs, anything... it's very important that both parties completely understand eachother.

  11. Hmm, I suppose this is quite bad, although this may not have been done as maliciously as you thought it may have been intended..

Oh, I didn't think it as "malicious" at all. Just extremely stupid and classless.

And like I said, I don't really give two sh*ts. But someone else might.

But I think this topic could be worth discussing... it's kinda another of those rep vs. gen forums "etiquette" things, isn't it?
