  1. Best source for reps: Veteran trusted members / member trades.

I have never, ever received a bad watch from the forum friends. 3 months old rep is often better than brand new because the members have already done the QC in practice (when they have worn the watch).

The possible problems usually occur very quickly after the purchase.

I've bought 2 out of my 3 recent gens from the veteran RWG members too. There is no better source for ANY watches than our sales section.

  2. Hehe... I used to have 2 reps of the 16710 (Pepsi and Coke). I was always going back and forth with them... I really like the Coke but at the end of the day Pepsi is the classic... and the "Rolex purists' choice". :)

  3. That model is Aquaracer chronotimer. I'm not sure if it has ever been produced with those old style pushers, but the standard quartz/automatic Aquaracer chronos certainly have them (the older models).

There have been some Aquaracer quartz reps before and all of them have been crap. Sometimes the pictures don't tell the whole story... you gotta see it in the flesh. But you're absolutely right, there is no reason that a quartz rep couldn't be good quality... but unfortunately stuff like bracelet, SELs and overall finish were really poor on the previous attempts. Add light weight of the quartz movement there and you often have a disappointing rep.

It'd be cool to see some better pictures of the rep.

    Here's the gen.

  4. Yep... great advice guys... but how the hell do I run it in "expert mode"? :D

I only have an option to start it from either the Start -> Program Files -> etc... or then from here:

Maybe none of these features are in the free version? The configuration/option screens don't contain any of these features.

When I click "configure" I get this:

  5. @RedWatch: It's not Spyware, there is a big gaming community that has used that particular file for over 5 years. I'm talking about thousands of users... it's 100% safe file, it's just that the newest AntiVir update keeps giving this idiotic alert every time without any reason. There is probably something in the EXE file structure that it doesn't like.

@nikki: Thanks man. Where can you put it to learning mode? Is that option available with the free version?

  6. I've played a certain game for 5 years straight, using an additional mod by a user. The file that launches the mod is a EXE file and it has been on use since 2004.

The file is perfectly ok and my system is 100% clean of viruses. But yesterday with the new AntiVIR update it gives this alert:

    73145685.jpg

I know this alert is 100% bogus and the file is perfectly safe. Other users who play this game get this same alert with the newest AntiVIR update as well.

Is there any way to get rid of this crap without disabling the AntiVIR guard... i.e is there a way to mark this certain file as "Trusted"? I haven't found that option from AntiVIR.

    Thanks.

  7. Wow, just amazing! :tu:

I've always said that this model is a perfect base for any HC modifications! Black ExpII is seriously under appeciated rep.

Make sure you read this and check the dimension requirements before you buy a gen dial.

Nothing beats the gen dial of course but the black Noob dial is actually very good... at least I'm happy with mine.

  8. @KB: Gen PO will cost only about $2K. :)

Quality is impossible to measure without some kind of advanced machinery / equipment. "Build" is just one thing. Some of the reps seem to have superb "builds" and details (for the naked eye) that rival almost any gen out there (save watches like Breguet and Patek of course).

But when you take zoomed pictures the differences become apparent. Rep dial prints and stuff like bracelet SEL fitting can rarely compare. The reps can last just as long as gens but as someone mentioned there might be QC issues. But if your watch arrives ok and works for the 1st month without problems it can last just as long as a gen (without service). Reps generally can't take as much abuse as gens... like people hand winding their automatics (without any reason), or tighten their screw down crowns like there was no tomorrow, etc.

Seikos are excellent watches for the money but then again so is the rep of Swiss Steelfish SuperOcean. But if both of those watches were taken to very rigorous conditions and someone performed a "hardcore endurance test" I bet Seiko Orange Monster would win (I have owned one too... nice watch).

But is that really so important? If you don't beat up your watches the quality of most rep is more than sufficient.

I think the best reps are much better watches than some people are willing to admit... because "they come from China and they simply can't be good" analogy. People also exaggerate the quality of their gens because they have spent so much money on them. It's human nature... you want to justify your expensive purchase somehow.

I have both reps and expensive gens and I really don't see that much difference on them. But then again I'm a WIS and I paid for that "remaining 10%". Of course I'm talking about the visual part and forget about the superior movements in the gens. But as long as they look good and keep good time I'm happy... for me a nice watch is a nice watch (rep or gen). Sorry to say but very few Seikos and Orients do it for me.

    Just my 2c.
