  1. Hey guys, Saabin (from the old RWG1) gave me this print. You can use it to create fake papers. He created papers just for fun (for his franken DRSD). I never saw a problem with it.

    Whether it's unethical or not... I don't know. When someone does it with good intents... I guess not. I guess it's like having a gun and the same arguments that Americans always use: "Guns don't kill people, people do." :D Well anyway, I just have these and I wanted to share.

  2. I could add the GMT IIc on my list.

    What's wrong with this watch then? Absolutely nothing... it's just plain BORING. It does nothing for me, although I'm a huge Rolex fan (as you know). I tried the gen on and besides the MUCH nicer (browner and shinier) bezel it was nothing special, either.

    The replication is nice, the watch isn't. Just imho. Traded this to Ebel BTR. Best deal I ever made.

  3. How are you liking the blue Rob? I love my blue Skyland, but I know that gen dial has a much nicer tone to it!

    I have the same dilemma with the Fish. The black rep is hands down the most accurate but nothing strikes me like the blue dials... especially the Breitling blue dials.

    This is a shot I found from WUS (I think). I've learned my lesson... when you buy a rep, stay away from the blue dials. Sadly they can never look like this

    or this

    The shine and deep color effect simply isn't there. :(

    I guess blue Skyland rep has the same problem.

    That doesn't mean that you can't enjoy the watch... you absolutely can. It's just that we're obsessed with our watches.

  4. Our reps are amazingly close. But we all have true favorites and then gens are the only option. Everything is simply... well... perfect. I have noticed that gens don't make very interesting subjects for reviews... I haven't managed to get myself inspired at all (to write much about them). Rep vs. gen comparisons are great of course.

    I really like your Link Chrono as well. And Bond Seamaster... is there a WIS who doesn't like it? Great gen triplets man.

  5. I ordered a supposed "best version" from Pure Time and was very disappointed. The bracelet was wrong (polished center links)and the crown guard is flat on the ends instead of pointed a bit. I could let that go but the bracelet? No way. In their defense, after going back and looking at the photos posted on the site, I should have known before I ordered.

    PT = Precious Time

    PT = Puretime

    That's sometimes confusing. I meant Precious Time, not Puretime. Sorry for the confusion. I thought it came clear as the review of v1 was linked in the first post.

  6. Thanks for looking. Observations about my photo skills are welcome. I'd like to improve here. -_-

    Not much to improve. Excellent photos. White balance is off like Pug said. You can fix it with Photoshop easily. Click adjustments -> "auto levels" and/or set it from adjustments -> "color balance" accordingly. Easy. Another option is to set it from your camera... I use fluorescent light setting when I take lightbox shots.

    The dials also need more light... especially the black dials. You can capture the printing even better and crispier if you have a bit stronger exposure. You can see the problem from your Dweller photo. I suggest one extra lamp in front of the lightbox. The exposure doesn't have to be direct but make sure there is enough light in the box... it's that simple.

    Keep up the good work!

    PS: I'd like to see my friend Dluddy's non-PAM top-5.

  7. Tribal considers v2 better than v3. Dunno about that but I guess they're both excellent. Actually the v1 (PT Super Sub) is quite amazing too... very underrated rep and it had the best SELs ever.

    Funny, after getting v2 with superlume and everything I kinda miss my v1 with Flat S. I loved that rep. I think you can still get it for less than $300. Great value!

  8. I'll keep my eyes peeled By-tor! 2,000usd sounds like a lot! I'm here in spain.. aren't you in france.. or england?

    Thanks, all.

    I'm in Scandinavia (EU).

    Official reseller prices are one thing but between the private watch collectors, preowned blue X-Plus XXL should be $1500 - $1550 max (in great condition). I've seen very good ones go for as low as $1.1K in TZ and WUS. Actually I saw the 42mm version for $990 last week. $2000 is just ridiculous. But I'm not El Cheapo... I don't care about a few bucks if the watch & seller are good.

  9. I have a nice company car, a 2007 Mercedes E200 Kompressor. But I'm actually considering another car just for fun. I need another obsession now that I have collected all my favorite watches. :D

    I've been thinking of a BMW 8-series (something like Euno's), Porsche 928 or Jaguar.

    PS: Talking about handling, my brother bought an old Peugeot 605 automatic (I think it's 1999 or 2000 model) for 1000 Euros. Perfect condition and it's better to drive than my Merc. Amazing seats too. I'm a big guy and the strings of my Mercedes seat are literally DEAD. There is no support for the lower back when the seat gets bad. Say what you want about French cars but damn they're comfortable... at least 605 is a damn good car.

  10. I really like that Ebel rep. What vendor has the best one?

    There is no variation among the 7750 versions. All dealers sell the exact same rep. More here.

    I agree... the Discovery is the most accurate rep ever made. At least it's the most accurate of the ones that I have seen. If it was Rolex, Breitling or Omega, or even TAG Heuer it would have sold truckloads. Ebel is more obscure brand.
