My Casio had four different alarm songs. At '12 it played "Big Ben". And I definitely had that yellow "water resistant" Walkman. I think I wore Adidas because here in Europe we had different brands.

Looks definitely fake to me. Look at '10 and '2 hour markers (way too far from the '9 and '3 subdials) and the cg's. This watch is probably a cheap A21J.

29 years later I'm still wearing a chronograph, but it's a bit different. This today.

I only bothered to look at Precisionreplicas, and they use both genuine & replica photos to create confusion. Some Rolex pictures come straight from the factory, some pics are of cheap shitty street junk replicas.

That site is like 99,999999% of other replica sites: pure scam.

Stainless steel sports models are the most collectible. Watch enthusiasts don't generally care about gold/two-tone versions, especially when it's about Rolex.

Just compare the vintage GMT Masters... the 1675's go fast and command much higher price than say, the TT "Root Beer" GMT.

I think this would make an interesting discussion. Maybe gold versions aren't considered as durable, or perhaps WIS think that gold versions are only for posers?

But yeah, two-tone Daytona has never been very desirable among the watch community. Everyone wants the SS version. That's why there is the infamous "waiting list" for them while it's possible to source a TT model straight from the dealer. Rolex has a limited supply for the SS Daytona, so the dealers have a good reason to "blackmail" their customers this way: sell it way over the list price.

I certainly agree Lani. Joshua was going to send one for me to review but it got snagged by the customs. That was a shame, it would have been nice to see in the flesh. Great looker and really underrated rep... one of the best for sure.

Miami Vice was awesome. Yeah the clothes look ridiculous now but some of the episodes were amazing.

Can't say anything about the A-Team because it was never aired in my country.

I think it doesn't make much sense to buy reps of the Aquaracer quartz models. Gens can be found for reasonable prices. That particular model should go for $600 - $700 on Ebay. I love the whole Aquaracer line.

USA hockey team looked pretty strong yesterday (against Switzerland). Switzerland has very good team but USA was different class. I think they might have a good chance this time. Fast young team and many great offensive players like Parise and Kane.

The crystal didn't have any distortion. I seriously doubt there was any AR. But it's been 5 years since I owned that one so I can't say for sure.

It had nice weight and feel, and well done details on the dial, no sloppiness anywhere (markers, hands). That's all I remember.

This is the TT version I'm talking about (gen of course). It'd be nice to have repped, it's beautiful.

That's the exact same rep, good find!!! I've been looking for a two-tone version of that rep. It's the same watch as this guy wore in Miami Vice. My favorite TV show when I was a kid.

I don't care what other people think of me and my watches. Thus, I wouldn't have a problem wearing quartz.

High end rep of the quartz Aquaracer Chrono would be nice too.

PS: I will make a gen vs. rep review as soon as I receive the gen. But after that, I'd be interested to trade my rep (EU-only) to a pristine Skyland v2 black dial. Best versions of the graphite BCE can be considered too (the ones with that good datewheel).

If no good trade offers pop up, I will sell it to Maximillian (who already reserved it). It's an awesome example. Most evenly applied lume dots I've seen on the SFSO reps.

Indeed. For modern post-ElP Daytona I would never even consider the black dial.

Gen or not, it's a nice dial. This might actually be an older Serti dial version from a non-SEL watch who knows...

The silver serti Sub is the only good looking diamond watch that I know. I think this dial would go better with the two-tone version though (just like the original).

This was one of my first reps. From Richard Lawton. Quartz 1911 chrono. Fairly "accurate" for a quartz cheapie and a nice quality feel. In many ways I wish I still had this... it's called nostalgia.

I guess the best quartz reps are TAG Heuer F1 and Indy. Check the TAG Guide from TAG section.
