  1. Just realized what a huge price difference there is in this model, if we're talking good condition GTS, GT or S4, the prices I laughed at in above post are not valid. :pardon:

But there is a nice black '92 GTS with 144k km for about 19 900€ (full documentation and much equipment) for sale in Sweden, thought you'd like some price data for comparison. And I know that the owner of the dealership 'drives' not only one but two 959's :Jumpy:

You can't compare the old model prices (1978-1986) to the newer ones. The most pristine GTS versions can cost 40K € in Germany and all sources say that the prices are going up. That would probably be a good buy right now.

If you find a good car of the old model (that Wheeler Dealers example), it could be a bargain. You get 100hp more than 911 Carrera of the same age... for half the price.

  2. There are manual S4's but not that many. 928 GT (1990-1992) came only with manual and it was more popular choice for the GTS (1992-1995), too. I've done my research. :)

Personally, I love the automatic. 928 is a grand tourer like Merc 500SL and BMW 850i, not a pure sports car... although it was always outperforming the 911 during its production run. Automatic wouldn't suit well for a 911, but it's cool on a 928. Just imho.

  3. The dial is SO much nicer than the MBW version. I think it's very nice red 1680 for the money.

The outer guards can be shaven very easily with a sandpaper. Then just polish them with Unipol or something...

Check Alligoat's gen... the gen guards should be both thinner & spikier. They look like "chops". There's less curvature at the end (on the guard tops... just shave them).

  4. To all: If you see this kind of behavior in the sales forum, you can always point it out publicly.

That's why our sales forums are open.

Do not let bad sellers to take advantage of our membership. Same thing when you see a misrepresented watch... do not PM the mods and complain it in pm, but reply it in that very sales thread. Even when you're not 100% sure, you have every right to ask questions publicly.

  5. FIFA 11 (PC) is actually pretty good game. It plays just like the next-gen FIFA World Cup. Highly recommended.

Not better than the legendary PES5, but perhaps the best modern soccer game for PC. Take it from someone who has played them all.

Game should be easy to find from the torrent sites / megaupload / rapidshare, etc.

PS: Don't bother if you don't have a modern PC & modern video card. The system requirements are very high.

  6. It's not just the gen forums, it's the same problem all over the Internet.

Too many places are ran by junior moderators who have no idea how a forum should be led. Overmoderation is usually the biggest problem, not undermoderation. You're not above anyone just because you're a moderator, you're working for the members.

All people have occasional bad days and people actually do disagree with eachother sometimes. You can't treat adults like children and force a nice, good atmosphere. Especially longtime members are entitled to have occasional bad days, or even act stupid sometimes. It's called life.

  7. Hey Hike, the new 7'er is a great looking car. So many people say it's ugly... I don't understand that at all. It's one of the FEW good looking modern cars produced. Very macho and muscular looking.

The new 6-klasse ain't bad, either. But not as nice as the original.

I've actually driven the original M635 CSi model. One of my friends (who's now in jail, lol) owned one in the early 90's. It had 286 HP which was a lot for a 80's car.

  8. I totally agree. The classic SEC is a fantastic looker. Much nicer than the gigantic CL that replaced it. However SEC has much more vintage look than the 8'er (imho). You could actually drive a 8'er out of the production line today.

Yeah these great cars are often owned by rednecks and monkeys. They install idiotic accessories, cheap ass spoilers and repaint them with tasteless colors. Here's a good example of totally ruined and fucked up 560 SEC.

But as with the Porsche 928, I'm sure the prices will eventually go up. Nobody wants to drive a Porsche Boxter... it has no character at all. That's why they're cheap already. 8'er and SEC both have classic potential. 90's SL ain't bad, either... but it's not as nice looker as the 8'er (imho).

  9. ive only seen two 8 series Beamers in my life, rare round north america

They're very rare everywhere. That series was introduced just when the big 90's recession started. V12-powered very expensive coupe wasn't a popular choice back then.

It's a cheapish car in the second hand market now because the maintenance costs can be astronomical. The whole exhaust is over 4K for example.

But it's very few cars that has timeless design. Understated and elegant for a supercar. I have always loved the lines of it.
