  1. LOL guys... I'd definitely get the Sub but WM9 is just too good. Same "problem" with the SFSO, SMP Chrono and Ebel Discovery. All too good reps. If I ever get a gen Sub, I'll get the no-date modern version (my old man owns one). It's my favorite.

I've pretty much just bought gen versions of my reps. Thanks to this forum, I have all my favorite watches that I ever dreamed of, except for that full gold Breguet Type X Chronograph... maybe I get the gen next (ah well maybe not). :D

  2. The first thing that sticks out are the bulky crown guards, which used to be a notorious flaw on all Rolex reps. They are WAY too thick on your rep.

There's some little variation but they're always pretty tiny little "chops" on the vintage Subs and Dwellers.

  3. bytor, are you overclocking that card you bought or leaving it stock?

I once overclocked my old Celeron... back in the 90's I think. Or early 2000's. Never again. It caused all kinds of occasional weirdness.

And due to my editorial work I have to keep my machine on for very long periods of time. So I don't want to do it.

And this machine is now fast as a lightning (compared to my intergrated POS). No extra speed is needed. :)

  4. You know... I was just thinking... it's posts like this (and sometimes pm's like this) from the members that really make my day. I don't care if those reviews of mine get read 300 or 30.000 times... but when I receive feedback like this it my "passion gets renewed" too.

Especially when I hear it from serious, hardcore longtime collectors like Robert and RT. Thanks again guys!

  5. @RT: Great to see you back onboard mate... and I'm really happy that you liked the watch. I love it too.

It's my favorite white dial chrono. Just as understated as all white dials, but when the light hits it... well it "sparkles". Too bad a motionless photo can't quite capture it. :)

I'm sure this is something that Ubi would probably like too... it's not a big watch.

PS RT: Isn't it weird how the double AR is sometimes red, sometimes blue? Or are my eyes deceiving me?

  6. 50 is pretty young to die these days... was it drugs?

He was a weirdo and potentially a pedophile too... but he was also very sick man (mentally).

But then again celebrities' lives aren't any more worthwile than others... they shit between two legs like the rest of us.

RIP anyway. I feel sorry for his kid and family. But people die... life goes on.

  7. ...since this beauty has been on my wrist.

One of my good forum frieds had it for a while... long story... but now my baby is back.

I have always loved my SFSO. The gen isn't expensive... about 1/3 what a Sub costs... but SFSO is still the King of diver watches (imho)!

If the rep wasn't so damn nice I'd already have bought the gen.

  8. Unscrew it. It behaves like a normal screw... counterclockwise is the key.

When it's totally unscrewed just pull it gently out.

1st position = hand wind position, but don't hand wind your automatic watches. It only creates wear in the movement and gears.

2nd position = date (dont' set when the time is between 10 - 2)

3rd position = hack signal and time set

when you're done, push the crown back in and screw it in.

    Good luck!
