  1. I wouldn't worry about those factory shots too much. They often have wrong colors (oversaturated or overcontrasted). Have you seen the factory shots of the blue Link? The color of the gen is completely different when you see the watch in the flesh.

To my eye the blue color looks good. We'll be wiser when the first member review is out. The dealer/factory shots don't always tell the truth, either.

  2. Yeah, I have used Precious Time because I don't want to take the customs risk. My track record with Asian dealers is pretty sad. 2 reps and 1 genuine TAG ordered from Asia, all stopped by the customs. Not confiscated, since it's not illegal to purchase reps for your own use (in my country). But they want the proof of the purchase price and (22% vat)... and generally it's a lot of hassle. I've heard the Canada customs is similar in that regard.

However everything I've gotten from the US have arrived without any problems at all. But actually I think the customs problems were more related to the commercial shipping companies. All come through when you use just registered, standard airmail.

My all new 7750-watches have been good. I have no doubts about the movement... and we always have Ziggy if something goes wrong. ETA Valjoux would make the price so high that it wouldn't make any sense to buy the rep... I mean, this is a 1.5K watch.

  3. I was searching the old RWG (ssh, don't tell anyone)... and found this picture of Richard Lawton's solid 18K gold Day-Date. It was purchased from Paul in 2004, and I recall the price was something around $2.5K. Yes, it IS real solild gold.

Personally, I'm not a fan of DayDate/DJ line, but this is quite amazing rep if you ask me. I hope you don't mind Richard, but this watch deserves a thread here as well. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Picture by Richard Lawton of course.
