  1. I won't changed a bit. It was hell of a joyride......learned so much! This place is a "WatchPedia" or "WatchWiki"?

Your taste would change....before I discovered REPs, I was in GEN Tags and Rollie Subs and GMT, some Guccis, Seikos, Citizens, got into Invictas and Swiss Legends to stretch the budget.....

......and then I discovered this mine field. Damn, it's a black hole if you love watches (it sucks your $$$$)......and then I discovered PAMs and APs...and the whole freaken line of Luxury brands.

And then your taste starts to dial back and you get into Vintages.....Daytonas, very early PAMs/Rolex.....and now I'm stuck with the early year purchase that I don't know what to do with them....

I'm not so active here anymore, but I'm here lurking every time I get a chance....

Hell of a ride and missing some of the old members (not in age ;) ).

  2. I can't believe 90% of the responders missed the point :fool:

All I'm sayin is, if you advertise your QC, you should do it.....end of story. And buyers.....are you guys scared of the TDs that you can't point out the mistakes they do? That's why half the time we're getting crap!

Just because we're buying reps doesn't mean we'll take any crap they send us.....especially if they banner it on their website. Please don't give me the BS "You're buying a rep, get over it!" That's absurd! I bought

a rep that you said you QC'ed, then I expect it to be at least acceptable. Jeeezzzzzz......

When you screw the crown in, the freakin movement stops after 10 minutes......after buying and owning close to a hundred of

reps and working with them sometimes, I know the cause was a "little long stem" - meaning it was not trimmed properly..........

and if you release the crown 1 turn the watch works fine.....

You could notice the gap....it's that shiny tube......Grrrrrrrr! \

Something an idiot QC person would catch! What a sham!

  4. This is a great read.  I'm sorry your expedition was cut short, but I am very glad to read you were OK in the end.  Things can definitely end very differently up there.

I was wondering, since you didn't make it past the Everest base camp, is there a partial refund that you get since you didn't require any services beyond that stage of the expedition, or is it a flat price regardless of how far your journey goes?

How do you prepare for this?  Do you climb/hike year round to prepare?

Have you done any other expeditions of this magnitude?

It's been great reading this and seeing the amazing photos.   :)

    No Refunds......

You can't train for Altitude, but acclimatize. Some people just can't do high altitude. Sir Edmund Hillary can't go up past 14500ft. after he summitted. You still need to train for stamina....on this current trip,

I did HIIT 3x /week + climbing 120 floors and walking 6 miles 3x /week. I still got sick during our overnight at advance base camp!

One of the RWG Classic posts. Fantastic pictures and a great story!

    :)

    Thanks!

  6. Thanks for all the pics guys....loving all of them, but I notice that pcardoza have the better CP IMHO. Did you modify it or is it a V2 or V3? There's a big difference on the two ZF model's CP like 436NR's model (slightly sunken)???

    I'm with ya!

  7. ^very good point^

I love the mech. aspect of watches, but for some models like this(non chrono) why is it not common to use quartz?

Some will still buy it only in mech. form, but they might , also, increase sales just because of being cheaper in price w/quartz.

O, well, I'll just dream then.

Thailand has all rep in quartz version......you could try there!
