  1. I have one of those Aquatimers pictured I have one of these Aquatimers that's five years old and been in my safe for 4.5 o fthose years, it's gorgeous with a SWISS movement, anyone interested? It gets no wrist time.
  2. Coolness....What do you call a dog with no legs or paws??? NOTHING, because no matter what you call him, he's not going to come to you anyways.... OK, I win the VIP, lol
  3. Unless you do vintage, first time your watch friend sets the time he will know.
  4. Believe me, I would rather have an awesome rep for the lesser cost of fixing, etc. I'll tell you though, the build I was planning was the ultimate with a Sean Case set,and SA3135 Puretime with gen parts or ETA with Yuki, gen band, etc but cost was almost $3k by the time you add it up, not to mention time. The gen was $4k with papers and from a well known friend who let me have it in 3 payments
  5. I had Titanic collectables and Robotech Toys from the 80's, Street Fighter arcade stand up game, Afterburner jet fighter simulator game etc....
  6. Thanks, had to eBay a few collectables, but I pulled it off.
  7. His was the very one I used as a reference to build mine. I will post pictures of the 2 together
  8. Trying on a friends Gen Sub got my head spinning and no matter how nice a rep I got couldn't get that gen feel again. It drove me absolutely mad, yes I'm the guy always complaining about setting the time and the hands go the wrong way...lol Sooo, I pulled the trigger and bought it from him. A beautiful no holes "F" serial 16610 Submariner Don't get me wrong, there are some awesome builds out there. This was something I could not pass up. I am happier than a tornado in a trailer park!!! That leaves 3 beautiful Gen Swiss ETA 28,800 hand built subs I will be selling soon. One is the 11610 Ceramic with box, booklets, card, etc
  9. That sucks, better know who you're buying the Gen from....
  10. Thanks for the tips, I got the 2836-2 and with a lot of mods, patience, internet research, and miniature tools, I built one hell of a 16610 Submariner. Had to get ETA hands and mod the date wheel by removing the center hub area and smoothing out the edges and wow, I did it! Sorry guys, my first attack at this, lol. It beats at 28,800. It even sings when you hold it to your ear like a gen Put all new gaskets and submerged, water tested for a week the sealed case without the movement and she is dry. How do you post pics? Anyone need a nice 21J movement? It's got Rolex style rotor with the blue screws, and lumed hands too. Extra date wheel also for 2836-2
  11. The current movement is the 21j with the nice blue screws that hold the rotor and no plastic ring. It's held in the watch with metal tangs of some sort. Very well done. Even the cover has all the Rolex engravings and numbers on it nice and deep.
  12. Any way you could set it down and get a 1 min second hand video? I'm close to ordering one, just need more convincing
  13. How is the second hand sweep? Is there any studder at all or rotor noise when you shake it?
  14. I'm new at this and I would like some advice from the experts here. I have chance to pick up a one of either one of these two Swiss movements and was wondering what the differences are? Which is better? I have an original Noobmariner and was thinking of swapping out the Asian movement any advise as to if the hands fit, etc would be great.
  15. Nice collection, l have a question, whats the diff between a 2836-2 movement and the 2892-2? Do the hands adjust correctly on that like the gen?
  16. Just to chime in, the the decorated Asian 3135 doesn't adjust like the gen either. Clockwise crown turning moving the hands forward, etc. There is a true Asian 3135 clone movement out there by, can I say the name of the vendor? That is the closest to the gen your gonna find, I want one, lol. The crown adjusts hand direction like the gen, no rotor noise, no 2nd hand stutter smooth and solid. The rest is ok but not a one to one. Pricey at $400. I just want the movement
  17. Anyone get one of these yet? The hands adjust in the correct directions, which as you all read in my previous post, is for no reason or another, important to me, lol... Where is PureTime from?
  18. I like this forum, picked up 2 beautiful watches from members already
  19. I was just curious as I thought it was just a gear that can be reversed. If it's the whole movement then I would take you guys advise and get a 2836 Swill powered one. Who has good ones? I'm sure I can look but a quick link would be nice.
  20. Guys, I'm no expert here on this but does anyone know a trusted vendor who makes a true Sub rep that adjusts the hands in the correct direction like the gen ? I have a gen 16610 from 2005 that my dad left me and when I turn the crown to set the time clock-wise the hands advance, turning crown counter-clock wise the hands go backwards. Every rep I've seen operates opposite of the gen. Why can't they get that right? Just curious because I want a good rep to wear when I travel out of town as I have been noticing more scratches lately on my dad's so I want to preserve it. I've even been shown the 3135 clone movement and it is also not correct when adjusting the time. I guess it's not a big deal but if I pay big bucks for a good rep I want it to adjust the same as the gen. Thanks for your help.
  21. Would anyone like to see the pics of my cousin's watch he got from him? It's awesome
  22. Am I allowed to recommend a dealer that has this watch and guarantees it to be Swiss ETA?
  23. My cousin purchased a Ceramic ETA Swiss modified to 3135 Sub from him, he sent him the link to his actual watch being inspected and packed with tracking numbers. Even gave him all the green correct boxes with tags and paperwork, unbelievable. He also said when he got it, open it and if it's not SWISS ETA he can kill him, lol. He was correct, it was a genuine SWISS beautiful time piece, He absolutely loves this watch. It even sings like one when pressed to your ear. Even runs at 28,800 as he shows you in your video. 8 ticks a second baby, just like a Rollie. He even took it to an AD to re-size and they did it for free!
