  1. I just bought a full gold DJ from Andrew after my order for a pre-Daytona could not be filled. Ive looked at this watch since I first came here but have been apprehensive as I figured the gold would be totally off and the datejust does not come with a presidential bracelet. I will never wear this watch in public. Its just so Beautiful and by Andrew not having the pre-Daytona that was all the excuse i needed. Ill post some pics when i get it.

  2. My 16520 Daytona posted above consists of the following:

    -Genuine S serial case

    -Genuine crystal

    -Genuine bezel

    -Genuine crown/tube

    -Genuine dial (MKIV Tritium)

    -Genuine hands (Luminova)

-Zenith El Primero 400 31j (which is what the Rolex 4030 is based off of)

    -Genuine 503b end links

    -Genuine 78390 bracelet

How much for all that? Its my understanding that all you need is a GEN movement and you'll have a GEN Rolex?

Is it actually cheaper to buy these watches piece by piece?

  3. Sorry to make negative comment. The pepsi GMT has bad insert printing, especially at the "8" with part of the bottom missing. I have a GMT II with the same bezel insert defect. .:yuk: Bought it before I found RWG and the dealers here.

You are correct. What Ive found with these watches it that every watch will have something that sucks. The coke and Pepsi has a very nice crown while the black GMT has a nice one. Could you please post a pic of your correct bezel. Im on the rolex chat room and im seeing several different kinds. Here is a pic of the newest GEN GMT bezel.

  4. Well mixed feelings here, these watches have ETA 2836 2 and truly AWESOME dials and I mean Ive looked at them with my 4x magnifying glass no flaws at all extremely sharp. I guess I have to take back the previous rant about how all rolex dials suck. Now the part that sucks they have case holes  totally incorrect for a 2005 model. Normally I wouldn't care but they've change the II on the dial to ll. So I guess you win some and loose some more :bicycle:

  5. Are you sure about that? I was under the impression that Miyota cranks out some top notch stuff on some of it's movements.

BTW I believe it has been said here that all the ETAs you see in reps have their parts made in China, however some are sent to switzerland to be assembled and finished and those are labled swiss.

I dont question your superior knowledge here. I just cant stand the ticking and jumping second hand on these movements. It is totally inconsistent with how a rolex operates.

  6. as i understand it , ETA movements are assembled in asia then shipped back to switzerland for inspection same as GEN ROLEX watches , iv read somewhere that they are also assembled in asian :whistling:

& our in house master watch maker The Zigmeister also said that miyota is much better that most eta movements ..

WOW, if this is true than then maybe its better to buy a nice fake and keep the extra 4500 in your wallet.

  7. This is my biggest gripe. I guess im eagle eyed . I have a simple magnifying glass and you can see how truly awful some of the dials get especially the date wheels. Almost every date wheel I have ever seen on a replica watch sucks. On a gen you can take the date wheel up to 4x with a magnifying glass and never see a flaw. The dials on my reps suck thats from my $165 to $500. That said my $165 rep has the sharpest dial. I see members critiquing watches on things like lugs and CGs but lets face it the dial is the biggest give away and all these reps fail miserably in this respect. There are some exceptions like vintage Rolex witch had awful dial printing anyway and Andrews TueTone Sub. It has truly awesome dial print quality.
