  1. Happy Birthday Lovecraft!

  2. It's a 111N - H-Factory. I'm going to see if the vendor is willing to fix it and how much it would cost.
  3. The dial is fine, or at least I think so. I can't see where the paint chips are coming from. The movement is just "stuck". Dunno if something got slightly ajar or if it got bent - I couldn't see anything. The pin holding the bracelet to the watch is definitely broken, but I'm thinking I might ebay it. Maybe it would be the easiest to just ebay a new movement? No idea if it's hard work to fit the dial on a new movement considering the seconds being in a separate spot.
  4. The other day the pin holding the bracelet to the watch broke, and the watch fell to the floor. Apparently it must have been a pretty hard hit, even though it didn't seem that way. Now the watch will wind up, but not tick. On top of that some paint got loose and got stuck on the dial - but I guess that's an easy fix. I've only worn it 20-25 times or so, so it feels pretty rotten to just throw it away. It's still $300 or close to it. I do have tools to open it up, but I'm pretty clueless when it comes to PAMs. What would be the best route to fix this? ANY tips gratefully accepted.
  5. Very nice! It looks awesome! If I had seen that before doing my franken, I would have tried doing it without epoxy as well though - although I think mine sits firmly. The "hole" left when removing the rep tube had threads, so I got some extra grip there I guess. Still - it would have been much nicer to fit it like you did. I see you decided to go the Seagull route as well. Happy so far? I still have the rep crystal on mine. Definitely more of a blue reflection. Did you feel it made much of a difference apart from the color?
  6. Agreed - I'm more of a dressy guy than anything else and I feel that the AT fits me quite well. I've always loved swimming laps, and scuba diving for that matter, but since it's a Seamaster it's not a problem - but it's still dressy/elegant. I know I'm in a minority here, but I like the ATs better than any other Omegas out there, including the POs. While I'm not looking forward to an AT explosion among young men, like after some of the other Bond movies, I do hope it will get the factories going. They can't all be doing Panerais, right?
  7. Looking forward to the pictures as well. I'm getting the cartel asso with my 390 any day now, and it would be interesting to know if it's worth it to replace it with Kuvarsit's asso. Also, what leather conditioner did you use? Anything special? The result is remarkable.
  8. Thank you for posting it! I still don't know which I like the best though
  9. It's really good that you are happy with your new watch and that you are more than satisfied with your dealer. But as for recommending him when the watch you received is "not the same watch at all" that you saw in the QC pics... I dunno.
  10. There's a real difference when I wind my ST2130 and my 2824.1(don't ask me why I got a .1 and not a .2) in my PO compared to my 2846 that's in my AT. The latter has almost no resistance and no sound but the other two are/were pretty hard to wind - with both the sound and resistance of one of those little wind up toys I had as a kid. I much prefer the feel of the 2846 when winding it. As for the Seagull, I got it on an Ebay auction but I'm sure it's possible to get them cheaper. I have a friend in Macao and I thought I'd ask him and see if he could get a hold of a few, but he's out of the country for a month more or so.
  11. A while back I asked the girl I'm seeing at the moment which watch she liked best; my blue hands Aqua Terra, my Planet Ocean or my 111. She replied with "I don't know really - they are very similar"... At least I won't have to worry if I stay with her. As for the watches - it bothers me a bit if they stop and I've considered getting a winder. At the same time, it feels odd having a winder go 24/7. The Panerai hasn't stopped since I got it, even though I've rarely used it.
  12. It very much sounds like how my movement acted and sounded like. My movement ended up dying, but maybe you can fix yours somehow. I also did a lot of manual winding since I took it off during work and sleep, and the hours in between weren't enough to keep it going. When I searched for tips the only advice I got was to get the movement serviced. I ended up ordering a Seagull for $70 from Ebay instead - new and serviced. Figured that was probably a better bet than sending my movement (that might be pre-used and in poor condition) to get a service for about the same cost.
  13. I like the DLC look generally speaking, but hadn't seen any particular watch that with it that I liked enough, so when I read about the custom made watches from H-factory I thought I might actually get one. I had my eyes set on a 390 since before - there's been so much talk about it and I've seen so many pics it was hard not to So get a DLC - or get the classic? A classic is always a classic right? I was going back and forth on this one but I finally decided to get a regular 390 - and I'll get it any day now (fingers crossed). I'm still very curious how it would have looked though. Am I the only one with odd (?) enough taste to think of getting one? If any of you got one, would you care to share a picture or two?
