Thanks for the advice on the movement guys! I'll read up on those links you posted Cougar. I trust Andrew to provide what he's advertising, and I noted that my movement looked identical to the one he's got on his website. Someone asked the question, and I had no idea myself.
@Lovecraft, I've heard some people talk about the springs that hold the release buttons in place and how they get bent or something. Mine seem fine, so I hope it stays that way. I love the clasp on this watch.
I've been trying to figuring out if my AT has a real ETA or not. The model is old enough to have it, but I really have no idea. It's supposedly an ETA 2846.
As for the PO - I haven't gotten it yet but I think it will show up tomorrow. It left customs in Oslo, Norway this Friday. Not too bad considering I ordered it last Monday. Anyway, I don't expect it to be a real ETA. I'm happy with a Seagull or something along those lines. It will most probably be the same movement you have in yours.
A new gen clasp is £100. Feels like overkill if it's just the springs. That said, compared to the dial or bezel it's a bargain

Just for reference and worth a read:

Thank you very much, a great read!
Vandal, your watch looks amazing. You make me wonder if I should have gone with the orange bezel anyway. Great bezel and great pictures!
I read that some people change the clasp. How come? I'm by NO means knowledgeable about these things, but the clasp looks perfectly fine to me.

Antar att det är Möllan i Malmö som gäller då
I actually thought the blue had something going there, but I'm not sure... The watch looks pretty "aggressive" imo. I hope you get some cool feedback from Omega

Maybe I'll just order it and see when it turns up. Couldn't manage to change the shipping address while keeping my billing address though, so I might have to call them. Also, I still havn't made up my mind about the dial.
Another to think about: odds are I'll want one of the newer reps with ceramic bezel when they come along. Maybe it will be better to invest in some spare parts there instead?
Also, I'd really want to get my hands on a decent new Aqua Terra rep, but I'm guessing the POs will come along much earlier since the ATs aren't nearly as popular.

I used a retailer as reference and it turns out they messed it up.
Thanks for clearing it for me - again
Edit:
Seems the 42" hands are out of stock. I guess I won't be doing any work on my PO until April at the earliest.
-
So, I was looking around on cousins for what parts I'd want to order. I was looking at the 42" with white numerals and the 42" with red numerals trying to make my mind up about the dial. I noticed they had different hands
Minute/Hour hands:
42" with red numerals: 2201.51.00 168.1650 cousins ref: X21168, £24.90 (Omega ref 065WZ4314)
42" with b/w numerals: 2201.50.00 168.1651 cousins ref: X23008, £18.40 (Omega ref 065WZ4312)
Same for second hand...
Are they different? Which one should I choose? I'm a bit confused here. I thought the watches were identical except for the dial.

after 5 days with Trevor i say to him to give me money back in my pay-pal account.and yes he give me!
in first time he say to me that watch has problem in movement and he will fix it. after 3 days and many emails to him and no answer i deside to take my money back if he not fix it.no answer!just he give me money back.....
after this i will go with the best dealer in replica around--trusty time!!!!he has 80$ more this watch that i want but i hear is proffesional!
Not sure I understand you correctly. Did you get your money back on your Pay-Pal account or are you still waiting?
Andrew is incredibly helpful and patient. I can't imagine you will have any problems with him.

My PO was sent from Trusty by EMS 2 hours before yours. It should have been here already

Thanks
Check with Narikaa for the rubber strap. I got mine from him.
Thanks for the tip!
-
Has anyone seen 20mm black rubber straps for the PO? I've looked all over but only found the 22mm versions for the 45mm PO. Buying gen was way too expensive for it to be an option.
-
Looks fine as far as I can tell. I would have liked a straight on picture though, just to be sure everything is straight/aligned/centered.
-
Very nice! I've always preferred the black one as well - almost bought the gen back in the day when the model was new.
-
I kinda think the same thing about the PO Wetwork. I kinda wish I would have gotten the 45mm as well. I was just going off what I've heard a lot of people say about the size. The 42mm looks good on my wrist, but I think the 45mm would have a had little more substantial presence.
As far as the DSSD, the reason it doesn't draw attention on me is when people see me, they'd be surprised if I wasn't wearing a $10,000 Rolex. That's just how I roll..
Great answer!
I'm sure you can sell your 42mm if you want to. It looked really great and it shouldn't be too hard to find a buyer.

Well, it turned up today, had to race home and pick it up from the post office... thing looks really nice, has a good weight to it, band and clasp feel good, just need to get a few links taken out of it. Shouldn't cost that much, should it?
Get one of these for $1. I have a very similar tool and it was super easy.
-
Question: Is there any point in replacing the He valve? It's not expensive, but is the rep valve really distinguishable from the gen?
-
Yea, I'm not sure why he asks not to put up QC pics. He puts QC pics up right on the website listing and aside from the order number, which I blurred out, they're almost the exact same.
I'll take the photos down tonight just to respect his wishes, but I wanted to get opinions from people who've been doing this longer than me.
@Seeaye, yes it's the 42mm.
I asked him before putting up my QC pics. He seemed okay with it. I think it depends on the forum. Either way, he certainly have nothing to be ashamed of looking at our QC pics. Both watches looked quite nice imo. I know I might sound like a broken records, but Andrew is incredibly willing to help and dealing with him is a pleasure.

I'd much rather have that watch than a daytona. The Speedmaster is probably my favourite watch of all time. Your watch looks great!
-
Even better pearl placement than mine Looks very nice to me!
-
Thanks all - watch should be on it's way soon Also, thanks to Andrew who found the bezel and let me post the QC images.
Galimanas: It's the $318 "swiss" ETA. Guess it doesn't matter - especially since it's a solid caseback, but I intend to open it up and I don't like the "gold" color I guess it doesn't really justify the $50 but still...

Thanks a lot both of you!
I still haven't decided. I like doing stuff like that, but at the same time I'm not at home now and I won't be for another three months so I have to borrow equipment like vices and such. Also, I read that some people had problem with installing their crowns. Unscrewing themselves and whatnot.
No, no problem with my AT - and it looks awesome with the new brown leather strap! The only thing about it is that I need to be careful when tightening it. It feels like it would be easy to screw it on wrong and ruin it. It's pretty far from the "like butter" feeling people describe when tightening a gen crown. With the crowns at $20 or something like that I figured I could give it a go if I was going to put a new crown on the PO as well.
No new QC pics as of yet... They are probably turning Shenzhen upside down trying to find a perfect bezel for me

Just me thinking of "Where does babby come from"?
I think you basically pay for professionalism: fast, safe delivery and outstanding support. Someone correct me if I'm wrong
-
As long as you not do this kind of sh!t, you should be fine:
I'd like to see him change crystal
For me I guess it's up to how costly it is to get it done and weather or not I'll get a new bezel (I'm thinking no right now).
My new clock arrived today!

I see why you ask. It's pretty close, but no sadly it's a rep. Some very minor details such as the "quartz" when it's a hidden tourbillon on the gen. They also missed a hole on the back of the clock, but I doubt anyone except an AD would spot it. Besides, who looks at the back?
