  1. Good evening my German and American friends :) Yes, it could be the job which is at fault, I work with software so not much movement there, but it also happens on non-work days when the watch gets plenty of exercise.

Without the non-work days I would have suggested to either switch the mouse to the left or the watch to the right hand as I'm from a business software company myself :fool::cc_hang::bangin:

But like this I would just +1 the 800 spins (to be on the safe side as you don't know the direction in which the rotor winds do it 800 times for each direction :partytime: ) or manual wind until fully wound and record the time then...

  2. To be sure for the crown - if looking for it at a gen with mounted crystal you know it's at 6 - you have to put a lightsource parallel to the crystal, so the laser dots pop out.

If a gen crystal with crown is mounted into a rep you can't be sure that the crown is at 6 and you have to look all over!

  3. To be on the safe side and have something for the future:

    - a watchmakers loupe

    - a watchmakers screwdriver set

    - a hands lifter tool

    - a hands setting tool

    - a RLX case opener

    To work comfortable:

    - a movement holder

    - a watchmakers pincette

  4. OK, I made my pictures and...

... had to notice that looking at the pictures my 2 domed and 1 flat were instead 3 different shapes.

So after I bought 6 T22 in total where I could instantaneous spot 3 non matchings (costy, but with overseaes shipping not worth to claim) I only got 2 originals and 4 reps sold as originals. Don't ask from which sellers I got them, but they are well known in the high cost Rolex sales... :(

Here are the pictures to compare:

    Tropic_22_flat.jpg

    Tropic_22_domed.jpg

    Tropic_22_superdomed.jpg

First one is one I got as "gen flat", so later makes, second I got as "gen domed" so the earl makes and third one I also got as "gen domed" but this is slightly more domed as the second.

So for me the second seems to be a rep T22 which from shape is exactly in between the gen flat and the gen domed one...

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

  5. I don't have a measuring tool at hand so I can't provide you height of the crystals, but as I have domed as well as flat variant I can do some pictures, may have them within some hrs...

BTW it cost me >$750 to get hold of 3 originals - 2 domed, 1 flat...

  6. What he's refering to is probably one of the previous long term member's double face who now that he has gens consider us/reps like [censored]...

And there are certainly some people who forgot about this community.

You not. You still post and educate others with your experiences.

And I must say that we certainly all agree that if we got enough money to buy all the watches we trully like as gens we would go for it.

There are also people like me going the other way round.

I came from reps to the gens.

I'm member in a handful of gen forums.

Now I start to sell my gens and replace "the addiction" by reps.

This feels less crazy than knowing you have more than one luxury brand car in value in a watch collection!

  7. No.

COMEX divers were using the 5513 when they first reported the problem with the helium, but I don't believe any of them had the logo on the dial.

As the watches during the first testings were serviced with a high frequency and got exchange for everything technically evolved, the possibility that a watch did escape this is close to zero.

Nevertheless you'll find reps which don't have the HV, just because it's cheaper to do so...
