  1. I have only made one mod so far - I realigned the bezel. This is one sweet watch. Very close to the gen. I think the biggest flaw is the date window being a bit too small.
  2. I used a microfiber towel across the bracelet when I was prying the bezel off. I guess it slipped because I don't recall seeing the scratch before. Ah well, not a big deal. The watch looks great. I use something called Zaino (zainobros.com) on my RX-8. It is a polymer protect that keeps the paint beading for about 8 months after application. It also acts like sunblock.. I used that over my SMP then used the zaino gloss spray. The watch feels silky to the touch, and smells good enough to eat
  3. hehe. Not for me. For the guys who like to quote a 300 line post.
  4. Or better yet, get a GP2X. The GP2X is a linux based system that runs homebrew. Basically it's an emulator system. You can run sega, nintendo, arcade games and more. So your library can contain thousands of games for free (Just download off the net). It also plays movies, music, photos, can function as a text reader... you can even get a linux console window. If you update the kernel with one that has networking compiled in, you can even get online with it. Here's more info about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GP2X I have one that I haven't been using (Too busy with new job). I've tossed the idea around about selling it, but the machine is pretty damn slick that I haven't had the will to do it. I even have the TV out cable so I can play games on my 32" LCD HDTV.
  5. I thought about it, but the price I found for OEM bezel was $149 range, so I decided my $200 SMP didn't need one that badly
  6. sweet - thanks I still get no match on pam or even pan (which I mentioned in this thread). If they're using mysql's fulltext search the my.cnf will have to be changed to allow for shorter min word lengths and the index rebuilt. I only use phpbb, so I don't know much more than that.
  7. An ETA movement can cost as low as $50. But it can also cost over $400 too. It depends on the model. I've bought three asian movement watches in the $300 range, so that's not too far fetched. I don't know what you're getting for the money though. Sapphire glass? Real SS casing? Will the dials fall out in a week? That's one of the reasons why most stick with the known dealers - we know what we're going to be getting. Anything else is much more risky.
  8. I have a feeling you didn't bother reading what I said. The problem isn't the lack of hits in the database, it's the inability to search on words under 4 characters in length, which rules out most acronyms (For both watches and dealers) as well as model numbers. "pan" was merely an example of the problem.
  9. Sometimes I wish the automatic quote was disabled by default.
  10. The search filters out keywords under 4 characters. That's usually the default setting in mysql, the problem is that prevents me from searching for topics like "pam 063" on this forum. In your my.cnf you can lower the default with this setting: set-variable = ft_min_word_len=2 But it might just be a forum setting if innovision board has it's own key tables.
  11. hmmm, I decided to do it myself. Used a watch knife (came with a watch kit I bought) and popped the bezel out. Once off, I could pry the bezel off slowly using my fingers. It was stuck on with tape. I realigned it and put 4 drops of superglue down so it would stay in place. Then I snapped it back on and it looks perfect. I managed to make a small scratch on the top band, it's close to the bezel and hard to see. I am not going to even bother buffing it out.
  12. I have TWO replica john deer tractors available. The tires are the wrong size, and the green is a bit off, also you have to peddle it, as the motor is faux. $250 each, including shipping.
  13. Okay, here's the video clip: http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZbKaoOYBMIQ
  14. This pam is hard to photograph. I've seen one of the cheaper pams and the sapphire glass on the face of the watch makes a world of difference. Unfortunately a photo cannot show this, so a cheap pam looks similar to a higher end pam when judging based on photos alone. In my next post, I will show you the pam in a video clip - hopefully this will better show off it's true colors.
  15. a lot of real watches have T swiss made T on them. That's one of the reasons why you would buy a newer pam rep. The old ones lacked the T's. Anyway, Dominos! now that's classy.
  16. I messaged The Zigmeister a few days ago and never got a reply. Ticket tracker said he read it.
  17. It's brand new. I'd rather not do it myself
  18. I have a smp eta 2824 version from PT. The bezel has the standard "innie" instead of an "outie" position. I can't pry it off with my finger and don't want to scratch it up with a knife tool. Also the crown seems to have stripped as I can't screw it down when not adjusting time. It pops back out. How much would it cost to get these two things taken care of?
  19. The source ip isn't private. I run several web servers myself
  20. You have to check off the 'save in my sent box' option or else you will not save it. Keep in mind every saved message uses up available space for your messages.
  21. Here's an example: http://www.silix-prime.com/cat.asp?catid=117 Pam 196 w/ Valjoux 7753 movement for $650 Pam 58 w/ Swiss 6497 movement for $300 The rest are under $150. I think I've answered my own question, I found the 7753 movement priced at $479.00: http://www.ofrei.com/page240.html
  22. This one gets my vote, but the case seems kinda large. I'd rather the ferrari face in a more traditional pam case.
