  1. good lord ive been gone awhile, I just dug my two tone ETA sub out of the safe and remembered my old passion..I cant remember from whom I purchased this watch (second hand and modded) ive been wearing my sweet and dependable, and oh so believable!! 005 panny from King regularly and a cheapo power reserve panny from TTK (runs great!)....rotated regularly with my orange monster and nice quartz (soul-less quartz) seiko dive chrono, for dressing up I have a nice 1950 on some sort of expensive strap that also came second hand from a collector in (I think) England? and of course my Abay chinese 7753 clone daytona that still freakin' works!!! oh yeah in the safe I also saw a pretty decent rolly GMT that came from a fellow in Texas that had legal trouble (maybe?) anyone remember that? ...wow I miss perusing this board and the old TRC but ive been busy with a new family.... so am I re-activated?
  2. you can find discussions on that watch and other (big)homages here, http://www.network54.com/Forum/246576/ like many other watch forums they dont want to talk much about fakes but in typical hippocrite fashion a nice homage like the hummer is "OK".... the hummer is a cool watch even if its a "soul-less quartz" and I know ive seen discussions of the RXW line over there. Chili
  3. heres mine!! Seadweller, ETA, back sez "GAS ESOAPE VALVE" and has "100" on the CGs for what? reason..... $275, circa 2002.... Wade, remember him? i wear it sometimes to work, very accurate (timewise), i added (badly) a aftermarket insert, the watch looks a bit rough but a blue collar guy with a beat up toolwatch is the look im goin for.
  4. Hi all, i just got a new and interesting ebay spoof "phishing scam" in my email, to summarize it looks like a nice elderly person has sent me a PM in error, but it is actually a scam to try to harvest my ebay user ID and p'word, be aware if you get one like this...here is an excerpt (below), the clue is that the "respond to" button is a redirect to a offshore IP, dont fall for this!!! if you do, or did, change your ebay info promptly. HTH Chili ===================== Activity with gret (last 90 days): - I have bid on 0 items from gret gret( 2) Positive Feedback: 100% Member Since: Oct-30-03 Location: CA, United States Registered On: www.ebay.com Hello, I recently placed a bid on item#5669378843 being a wheelchair for me that i really need do to my age(87 years old) and it seems that i can not find the auction anymore...May i please know if you are the seller of the item above? 5. to make it more interesting, remember there are hundreds of variations on the genuine sub, so if your aim is to call out or at least know what your buds are wearing be careful cuz you can end up looking silly...imagine the surprise a guy could get when he thinks he knows how to spot a fake because all fakes "tick", then he gets edumacated about the "oysterquartz" and the "quartz seamaster" which is very common and well regarded, i know ive tried to check out bezel pearls, rehaut, and crown guards "on the wrist" and not had much luck, but once a guy at work showed me his new, used sub "bought cheap" and when in the hand it was obviously an Eta based rep, of course being a blue "all steel" sub was a give away!!!! also another guy at work showed me his rep yachty and he had paid over $200 for a mediocre Asian movmt model, they feel different from the nicely finised higher $$$$ ones we have here, but even that one on the wrist was OK including the date mag and that used to be a big deal.... no offense intended but the black sub, even in genuine is so played out and boring if i had one i would sell it and take the $$$$ and buy a NEW genuine XL PO (orange of course) and use the extra $$$$ to buy my wife something nice..... chil
  6. if you have a friend in the US (or whatever other countries) you could have a regular MO posted to them, i would certainly send a MO if it was to arrive in decent time,... can you cash US MOs in T'land? because we have a international "flat rate" envelope from USPS that costs $5, it takes 1-2 weeks from US to Phils, so T'land should be same? hope you get it straightened out...chil
  7. i do hope it "pops up" and i do still have the journal... should i send it to trunk? if somebody has an idea send me a pm and i will send it on.... it got lost in my pile of a desk ...CHILI
  8. how about a pinned "top ten reasons i like internet graveyards",,,, there arent very many dumb or repetitive questions over at http://replica-handbags-guide.com/ course its now dead cuz nobody went there.... nice quiet board for a while... chil
  9. ok, my wife wants this one... http://www.six-star-replica.com/pro/25169_pink.htm , does 6 star charge a lot for shipping? is it in that price ? about the pink LV, the pic i posted is/was swiped from a ebay ad for a fake, but i cant see what "flaws" are evident, ive handled the genuine and seen online pics of fake/real, i do want to learn to get my wife the goods.... i cant see $200 for tha Chanel, im thinking about $100 for good quality, its a simple piece, where the LV has zippers, buckles and so forth, the blue denim LV we got from Andy is very nice, the weak pointe is the leather tab with LV stamped that is thin and has torn...but again we have handled the genuine and those (in denim) are all "different" by design...the hardware on our fake is very good. i think it was $140 Chili also, i havent gotten a response from "Ruby" does anyone have another mail for her? does she usually reply in a few days?
  10. YES!! you can, the problem is most people DO like the bracet and then the strap looks so different its hard to get used to, try a nice leather and also a nice NATO, i just ordered a couple from here http://www.countycomm.com/zulu.htm you will find plenty of choice in 20mm, also try a nice deployant to make it easy to on/off.... try here for straps and deployant http://watchprince.com/ HTH!! chili
  11. you can find inexpensive ETAs and seikos on ebay, and some forums, try this one http://www.network54.com/Forum/170229/ for used, sometimes trashed asian watches.... ive seen em' under $20, and for that matter you can buy a new gray market citizen for about \$30..... also post a WTB on a forum like this... http://www.pmwf.com/cgi-bin/Forum/webbbs_config.cgi HTH... chili
  12. has anybody seen a good rep of this yet? my wife has one in blue from "trustybagguy" and its very nice....the pink is very cool in genuine, would like to find one!!! chili d
  13. hi guys, ive bought two nice bags from Andy, good communication and nice pieces, i recently mailed him about an item and he got back to me pronto....i think selling branded stuff on the 'bay is risky but i hope he does ok!! chili
  14. i was pretty drunk when i posted that, sorry for any confusion....we're on our way out for tequila now..... chil
  15. zHi, ive got a black faced GMT that i got from Aspire, i chose the all silver bezel as the "ying-yang" he had was incorrwect, mine is lacking a white outline on the date but the ETA 2836 is running fine and the 24hr hand IS independantly adjustable, if you set the date then turn the crown they other way it manipulates the 24hr hand....this watch is one of my favorites despute the flaws s it is a good tmekkeper and well made.....HTH...Chii////
