  1. @ esteban, a very nice 111 you have indeed, but like you said, yours is an exception from the norm. Most 111h models do suffer from some easy to identify dial flaws. I'll still say the g series is your best bet....
  2. I forgot to mention the infamous cannon pin problem will need to be fixed as well if youre going for absolute accuracy. However, I know that some of the newer asian movement pams already come with a correct cannon pin, so you might want to ask around and buy a watch that doesn't have this problem...
  3. Actually you've made a very nice first choice. I'm glad to see you've steered clear of the "h" series dials, as I've always found them to be hopelessly inaccurate. The most obvious flaws with this watch is probably the crown (didn't get really good look at it here, but I'm just assuming its bad cuz its a standard rep crown) and the yellow lume. The crown guard pin could be sanded flat as well. Dont let this discourage you though, the 111g is a great watch with huge potential to be extraordinarily accurate. Good luck!
  4. I admire and appreciate Davidsen's dedication to working with the rep buyers through the development process to create the most accurate rep possible. This is what we've always hoped for! @ davidsen, I assure you that you will have many buyers for this watch if its as good as it appears it may be....
  5. Yea, I guess you guys are all correct. Man, now I feel like noob Still though, this must be an early series of the watch, because the crown and crown guard are very different from most gens I've seen.
  6. It probably is (they'd have a lot of balls to post this on risti) but the crown guard looks a little like davidsen's. Thoughts? http://www.network54.com/Forum/353391/mess...irk%92s+Post....
  7. Yea the main difference between the rep and the gen in those comparison shots is the crownguard. The whole crowngaurd on the gen seems fatter and a bit rounder, and of course the lever pin is too small. Other than this, the dial is pretty much spot on. I'd venture to say that its the most (or one of the most) accurate davidsen dials available....
  8. I made a similar post over on RWI, but since then I've taken some new pics so I thought I'd share them over here. It's my prized 082 from davidsen. Any thoughts? And the gen for comparison... And finally one last shot with my 114g
  9. Holy crap, some actually posted a pic ! Are you sure you wanan leave that up there? With all the advanced facial recognition technology law enforcement around the world has these days, and the fact that most agencies have nothing better to do than track down rep collectors on an obscure internet message board, are you sure you wanna leave that pic up there??
  10. I can think of no way that, based on a photograph posted on a web forum, authorities would be able to track someone down. Come on people, we'renot posting our finger prints or or social security numbers here...
  11. Sorry if there has recently been one of these threads, but I think its nice to put a face to the names of the people we talk with over here on RWG. SO....post a pic of yourself. I'll start. Here's a pic of myself this past weekend wearing my DSN 082.
  12. Certainly we are all here, to some extent, because the cost of gen watches prohibits us from having an expansive gen collections. But still, collecting reps has an appeal I think I prefer. It may be a bit cliche to say this, but perfection is often boring. Gen watches are amazingly well crafted... their quality is rarely rivaled and most definitely never surpassed by their rep counterparts...but once you own the watch, there it sits...with nothing else to be done. My interest in rep watches stems from my pursuit of rep-perfection. Modding watches, researching the most accurate models, and eventually the satisfaction of knowing I have a watch that in all practical respects is 99% of the gen at a fraction of the cost. I find none of this intrigue with gens. What is there to talk about? "Yep, that watch is gorgeous." "That gen's crown shines just like the gen's crown should." Eh. While there is something to be said for owning the authentic timepieces, especially if ownership is of a brand with particularly interesting or rich history (patek, panerai, ect.) rep collecting, as a hobby, is something I much prefer. Thoughts?
  13. Hey everyone, I'm gonna be replacing a virtually unused asian 7750 28k movement with swiss and was wondering if there is any point in trying to sell the old movement. If so, what price might it fetch? Thanks!
  14. my school and work have been shut down for the remainder of the week (I'm in san diego). Luckily the fires are still several miles from my home, and nobody whom I am close with personally has been harmed either.
  15. The crown guard lever pin has been sanded flat by flav to give a more gen-like appearance. The watch was assembled from parts from various dealers. Dial is Davidsens I believe. I can't tell you too much more about the watch's origin because I bought the modded piece straight from Flav.
  16. I agree with Pamman. If the crowns were reps, any half-smart seller would be advertising them here or on RWI, where the real market for "replica" crowns would be.
  17. If you order any ti model watch from davidsen he sends it with a very nice, true ti panerai engraved buckle.... You may be able to buy these separately as well...
  18. RWG is telling me I can't add dynamic pages in the image tags. I dont know what that means, but I had a few more pics to load and can't seem to figure ot how to do it. Here is one that I reduced a bunch and updloaded directly....
  19. Hi everyone. Just thought I'd post some pics of the watch the came in the mail for me today - a gorgeous 114g with mods done by flava flav. This may be my favorite pam...
  20. I was wondering if anyone had some info on how to modify my crown to get it to sit closer to the case. Most gens have the crown just a couple mm away from the side of the case and I'd like to mimic this. If I remove the crown and stem and sand down the stem will this work? How much can I bring in the crown before I have problems with the lever no longer functioning properly? sorry fi these are stupid questions. Thanks!
  21. thank for the link...great thread
  22. it looks like you got a very nice ti crown from davidsen. very nice watch! the numerals appear a bit large but no one in the "regular" world will ever notice the difference. congreats on a great purchase, ad nice strap by the way!
  23. This straight from the panerai website as well...
  24. that site goes down more often than a cheap date.
