  1. I do agree w/ JKay, since it was you who shipped it. Sadly the responsibility is on the shipper to take the risk of shipping uninsured and/or without tracking.
  2. This gives me hope that I may get the $300 vintage watch I sold on eBay back. Sent it overseas without insurance since I left it up to the buyer to choose if he wanted it or not, but in the end responsibility was put on me and I had to refund him. Been 5 months now .
  3. Imagine dragons, my favorite new band Sent from my LG-LS855 using Forum Runner
  4. Ditto the hairspring suggestion. Having suffered a hard shock and running fast sounds like it could be tangled.
  5. Thanks I will look into those.
  6. I don't think you (or we) have to wait much longer . I was searching through RG and saw a post by puretime about a new MC Alarm Navy SEALs rep. Prototype is coming out sometime this month, and maybe release next month? I think it is from noob factory (?), I am still not familiar with all these terms.
  7. Are there any reps of compressor watches? Just a simple one with an internal bezel . So far I saw: Watcheden has some quartz JLC master compressors but I'd rather have an auto. Joshua has two a mechanical and an auto - the mechanical is a JLC master compressor with an alarm and that one looks nice. I'd have to wonder about the quality of it though, and how robust the movement is with the added alarm complication. Silix has a few autos (again JLC) but they all have added complications like date/world time/subdials, and look a little cluttered. Seems like no one does a simple compressor and most are JLC ones with extra complications.
  8. That is curious . I saw some other Tangomat gens online that just said Germany; maybe it varies like the caseback text?
  9. I am jealous ! Mine is/was delayed cause of Qingming festival. Thanks for the review. Do you happen to know why these newer ones have different caseback and movement than the one offered by Watcheden? I would imagine since this is more of a niche watch, not many factory would produce the parts so it seems strange that there are two version of those parts. Of course I am a noob to these things so it may not be strange at all or there is another reason.
  10. My 1st rep is the 'newly released' Nomos. But I may be here for a different reason than others - buying reps as a final resort when I cannot find any sterile/homage versions of the gen. The VC Overseas is probably next on my want list.
  11. Interesting. Looks like watcheden had a Nomos rep from a few months ago, with a decorated movement (ofc not on the same level as the gen): I wonder why the ones from joshua don't come with the same movement.
  12. So my first time here was a couple months ago when I was searching for sub homages and naturally ended up on some rep forums. I decided to go with homages/sterile subs instead because I wanted to avoid the branding on reps. This led to me exploring modding watches, and somehow back here! Sadly, it looks like I still want to avoid the reps of well-known brands. Mainly because I'm still a student and don't want to come off as being 'rich' or possibly 'elitist' from owning a watch that could pay for tuition; especially when I'd consider myself closer to a starving college student. Anyhow, I still look forward to just looking at and discussing reps in general, and of course purchasing some (already looking at the Nomos one). actually scratch that, i ordered one. HA, no self control .
  13. Looks like I came to RWG at the right time :3. Love Nomos (and bauhaus watches in generaly) and despite the movement being a underdecorated, I am strongly thinking of purchasing it as my first rep.
