I have just been robbed by the tax man!!!! I have also been waiting for my genuine IWC big pilot strap which arrived at my local depot awaiting charges to be paid so I was thrilled thinking it would cost me around £10.....when the guy said £112.82 I nearly choked. Although the guy I bought it from in Australia had put watch strap and gift to a friend on the packaging he also put the value at $500. I phoned customs and they said there is nothing they can do my options are to pay then appeal or reject and return to sender and as I have very little money left this month I dont know what to do...and to top it off my new IWC topgun chrono the top pusher sprung of this morning and only arrived yesterday so feeling a bit pi*#ed off

Hi, i received my first 3 watches yesterday from a trusted dealer and amongst them was an IWC topgun chrono 46mm doppel which I decided to proudly wear today however when got to work and pressed the top start/stop pusher to show a collegue the pusher sprung of, I still have it and was wondering if there is a quick fix or someone recommended to fix it for me to save me sending it back to china as I waited long enough to receive it. Please bear in mind I am new thank you

Hi all, after a long long spell in customs my first 3 watches I ordered from trusty arrived today and i am over the moon. I received the following; A 5002 big pilot which i have bought a genuine brown with cream stitching strap and a rep but near gen deployment clasp both of which I am still waiting for delivery so wont wear the watch until they arrive. A Portuguese chrono, white dial with blue hands, I have already put on a peter watchacc black gator strap. And a top gun 46mm doppel which i am wearing now and love it, i have an 8" wrist and the slightly larger watch sits well. So now trying to decide which IWC to get next....hmmmm decisions decisions

No problem it arrived this morning i will check when I get in and post back

Thanks mate, my second parcel has now cleared customs very quickly and is at my local depot as ive had to pay £22 charges, I hope your watches arrive very soon

Great news, after being in customs for 17 days wait for customs clearance literally over night (8 hrs) my first 3 watches I ordered were signed for this morning. As soon as they left customs and handed over for UK processing they moved like lightening. I still have 2 to pay "revised charges" but at least I'm getting there. Good luck lads I hope yours arrive soon

Update! I ordered a further 2 watches a week after my initial order of 3 watches all from trusty, the second order has now been "received and processed" in customs and are "awaiting customs charging" whilst the first order is still "waiting for custom clearance"

How long did they take to arrive after you paid the vat?

16 days now and getting really impatient

Hi, I am new to this site and collecting, in fact i am still waiting for my first 5 watches to clear customs. Amongst them is the updated 5002 Big pilot (black) relumed and no recess date, I have also bought elsewhere a genuine dark brown strap and a rep but near perfect deployment. What should i consider as my next mod bringing the watch nearer the gen? Can you also recommend where to go to get the work done. Thanks for reading

Gutted!! i didnt realise they can charge import and vat afterwards, its now 15 days and on tracking still shows "in progress" "awaiting custom clearance" i have a further 2 watches that are now also at customs which makes 5 in total and a lot of money. i cant wait though just hope they dont go missing. Also can anyone verify if customs is 24 hrs so i can keep tracking whatever the time or are there opening hours??

That's really good to hear thank you, I think its only made me worry as this is my first time of bringing reps over but you have put my mind at rest

I am in a similar situation myself, my package consisting of 3 watches has been in customs for 12 days now, I also contacted parcel force who could only tell me it was still with customs and they could not Chase it however he did say that due to the time of year, the Olympics and a crackdown on counterfeit goods there is a backlog and can take anything from 2 to 3 WEEKS!! So I suppose its just a case of fingers crossed and hang in there

I have just got of the phone to a guy at parcel force worldwide customer services and after I told him my parcel had been In customs for 2 10 days now he said " there is a major backlog, due to the time of year, the Olympics and a crack down on counterfeit goods and sometimes it is now taking between 2 to 3 weeks for parcels to clear" so looks like I will be sitting tight and praying I receive my 3 watches, if not I would consider myself unlucky as this is my first experience collecting

This has been a helpful post, as it is my first time at importing I was only reading horror stories inc ones suggesting the staff at customs are thieves themselves, its reassuring that some of you guys have similar experiences

Thank you for the last post it has reassured me, parcel force rang me back and left a message saying my parcel is in customs and to keep checking online

Update...I called parcelforce customer services who confirmed that 9 days in customs is a long time and took my details to arrange a call back. She asked what was in the package and i said "fashion watches" which i was advised to say by Andrew at trusty

Thanks for the replies and supporr, I ordered a IWC big pilot, Iwc top gun and panerai 212 flyback. I think I will phone customs this morning. I just hope I am not going to lose them and be taught a valuable lesson

To be honest this is the first time I have ever done this and I thought the more the better and was not advised otherwise. Could this be why they are not being released??
