  1. Price? A lot . . I think they were only making 5 of these . .
  2. I've hooked a few friends. Its not that hard if they are the kind of people that are into materials and mechanics. Have you even noticed a lot of people into watches are also into knives and pens? Oh yeah . . my wife thinks I'm a nut, but she appreciates a new watch *almost* as much as I do.
  3. WOW what an a-hole . . I hope the dealers can get together to stop selling to people like this . . Imagine NOT being able to buy watches!!!
  4. Great Post Overboosted . . . Similar situation here. I've always loved watches and mechanics so when I bought my first Mechanical watch it was all over (Or all starting, depending on how you look at it!) My first fake was a (Quite bad) Sub from a pawn shop in hollywood, then off of fakes to affordable autos (Seikos etc). I spent many days longing for fakes with the quality of Seikos, so finding RWG1 and the dealers here was a glorious occasion. It's funny to see that quite a few of us are in a buying lul just waiting for *something*. I think what I'm waiting for is a really good AP . . . P.S. I could watch that diving bum avitar for hours . . .
  5. My AP Jumbo sees a lot of writ time just because its both sporty and classy. . . Sapphire crystal and waterproof to at least the botton of a 10 foot pool . . ./RO
  6. The black paint on my newest Pannie is peelin off . . Anyone know where I can get hands? I asked Trusty but he's not sure he can get them . . ./RO
  7. Hey JosePR . . I've done some digging and all the T3's out there seem to be quartz :-( If you don't mind that, att least they are cheap, er . . inexpensive. around $100 from what I remember.
  8. On first read I could have sworn you said you went to the bathroom and peed on it . . . I'll have to say I've received some borderline stuff from some of the the hallowed dealers on this site. It's the brutal backlash that prevents people (me included) from posting the facts here and the HUGE pain in the ass that prevents people from trying to get dealers to make good for flaws that are less than catastrophic. It's a really tough call when you receive a watch that IS what you ordered but their is some stupid QC problem with it . . oh like hands that are bent up too far or wonky grinding on the crown guard . .
  9. While cruzing the net, usually when I'm looking for pictures of gens, I've noticed a hell of a lot of new-ish sites that look to be selling the same reps as our dealers. Not that the prices are the same, or that I'd ever actually send money to any of these sites, but a few years back all the rep-for-sale websites had pictures of gens, OR pictures of some of the real garbage you'd get if you ordered. Now there seems to be a lot of sites with pictures of decent quality watches, some of them I've even recognised as the same ones our dealers carry. Is this market really getting that big? That may be good for quality but you gotta think the swiss mafia is going to try and put an end to it someow . . *ramdom thoughts* ./RO
  10. Yup . . happens from time to time. Jay will get it straightened out and his account will be able to accept payment again. Remember to not cause him grief by putting anything watch/fake/rep in the paypal comments . . thats what causes these disruptions. ./RO
  11. Threads like these are a good reason to be into reps . . have you ever seen anything other than 'here's a picture of my new xxyyy' on Paneristi or the Timezone forums?? I love watches . . been into them for years. Did the nice-looking-but-quartz thing. . then discovered mechanicals in the form of Seiko 5s. The internet lead me to some AWFUL reps early on. I remember thinking if someone could just make reps that are Seiko 5 quality . . I don't even care if they are identical to the original, I just wanted them to keep time, look decent and perhaps keep the water out! After that foray a bought a gen . . Not a brutal expensive one, but a watch I really loved. . ( a Fortis) Now as far as gens go, Fortis is a lot like Sinn . .. real bang for your buck in the swiss watch market. Shortly after that I found RWG1 and I'd have to happen on to a real excess of cash to ever look back. Now don't get me wrong . . I still have and love my Fortis, but when my first knock off Sub from one of our dealers arrives for just over $200, with the same damn movement, sapphire glass, VERY GOOD assembly quality and it keeps better time than the Fortis . . even reasonably priced swiss watches are a rip off, which is really too bad. I think maybe the mild exception to this rule is the kick ass in house stuff from the likes of AP and Mille. You're just not going to get that stuff in a rep- ever. So if those places didn't play by the same inflated swiss rules and those watches were 10s of thou's instead of 100s of thous,, I might be into that. As it is now . . hmm . . ultra exotic sports car or ultra exotic watch . . same price . . OK so there is a lot of technology and R&D in the AP Concept . . I have a feeling there is a little more in the Carerra GT! ./RO
  12. Well that pretty much puts a cap on that one eh boys! ./Royal Oak
  13. I'll add my vote for good AP's and ANY Mille . . What can I say . . love the high tech materials!
