  1. This watch was just showcased at Basel and I believe it's out in the fall. So the best thing to do now is to buy the rep BR-01-92 (46mm) with the white markers and PVD case and get it black lumed. Then you'll be first on the block to wear it!!! woo-hoo!
  2. Yep, the sticky blue stuff on the deployant clasp is a little suspect so maybe that and the rubber strap is a rep. Good to know the watch is real though. Now if only I can find S$10k. Haha.
  3. http://sg.auctions.yahoo.com/sg/i:PANERAI%...PAM186:94670514 Hmmm... the lack of AR rings the alarm. Also, I can't find the caseback pic... I might be wrong and this could be the real deal and if it is, I apologise.
  4. What I'm curious to know also is how good is the quality of the dial? I've seen the white dial Daylight and I found the print on the dial to be rather cheap-looking. The white looked too plastic! Or maybe I'm just now used to looking at white dial PAMs. Any owners care to share with us?
  5. The only problem I have with my Ultimate Edition PO is there's a slight gap on the clasp when I shut it. Maybe it's just my luck or I'm just nit-picking. Other than that I'm very happy with my PO. Definitely one of the closest 1:1 reps I own.
  6. I've heard many good things about it and I believe the Replica Podcast gave it a very good review as well save for the weak / soft-ish strap ends. I've personally seen this watch about twice at my dealer and was very close to buying it but what stopped me was the price. Also, I've seen another edition with thicker date font (the one that's supposedly for PAMs so it's actually wrong, believe it or not) that's supposed to be a genuine swiss movt but that's even costlier. And the worst thing is I noticed the dial colour was slightly too dark - it was closer to a creamy beige colour and that made the white date stick out like a sore thumb. Correct me if I'm wrong but the correct dial colour is more of a off-white and not so beige-y, right? Still, I think it's a very nice watch (I put it on and loved it) so it's on my to-buy list... as soon as the price drops! Does anyone know the actual colour of the dial? It's really hard to tell from photos but from ads I've seen in magazines, it looks very close to the date colour and shouldn't really differ too much. Also does the original have AR? Hmmm, maybe it's time to pop into an AD to check it out. Haha.
  7. I own the same watch and same version (ours have got the thinner date font and the very bright green numbers). I've seen 'newer' versions with thicker date font and lighter number which I personally think looks a tad bit closer to the real thing (save for the recess in the date window). The only thing that annoys me about the Pam196 is it does pick up scratches quite easily both on the semi-circular polished steel crown guard and the bezel. But hey, at least it makes the watch look well-worn and gives it the seasoned look, eh? Nice pictures, dude! Makes me want to put my stainless steel bracelet back on the Daylight (it's currently wearing a rubber strap).

    My 6263

Bought the same watch about 2 weeks ago after searching for a long time and rejecting the temptation to buy the modern ones with the running secs at 6'o clock (OK, I did own that for 2 days but it gave me so much trouble I took it back and exchanged it for a Panerai Daylight). Cool retro watch from the 70s. Love it.
  9. I bought an IWC Ingy Chrono two days ago and I love it to death (and not cos it's new). It's simply one of the best reps I've seen and it feels really solid on the wrist. The only letdowns - it wasn't exactly cheap and there was no AR coating. But other than that, it's one that I will wear on days I cannot decide which reps I want wear cos I think the Ingy Chrono really goes with anything. I also own a FA Jones (gold case version) but like many members here have remarked, it's a really nice rep to look at but I've only worn it twice cos it's just too dressy. Hmmm, should have thought of that before buying huh?
  10. Here's what we should all do to get the price down: just don't buy it! And in a couple of months when the stocks are collecting dust, it might just fall. Haha.
  11. Hi Pug, Judging from the title of this post, you must have bought this from Bangkok (duh!). But could I ask where? MBK shopping centre? I'll be there this week and won't mind picking one up myself. Thanks!
  12. I bought a Daytona Cosmograph rep (white dial version with running seconds at 6) yesterday and really enjoyed it until I noticed today it was actually losing time. So while looking at it today, I noticed that from 15 sec to about 25 sec, the hand dropped instead of sweeping. On the next revolution, it didn't happen again so I didn't think much of it. That is until today I realised it was losing about 15 min in about 8 hours!!! Guess I'm going to take it back for an exchange. Didn't realise it was a common problem. What a waste, it was otherwise a very nice watch. So I guess it's best to sit back and wait for a better and improved version.
