  1. That big pilot is a stunner.
  2. Time for a ketchup spa. Just in time for the Easter long weekend. And ten minutes later. Factory patina gone and everything back to zero. Time to let nature take its course. Happy Easter in advance everyone.
  3. Got mine this afternoon. Here's the out of box shot. Slight factory patina on CG and bezel. Yucks. Here's a close-up after setting time and date. Sorry, quick and dirty iPhone pic.
  4. A very interesting way to start this thread. Great job. Will be following this closely. This is why I love RWG and the enthusiasm of its members.
  5. Awesome, denisegold. What colour option is the strap btw?
  6. Pics look great! Really need this now.
  7. Time to place an order as well. Looks like it will be Josh / Andrew's version then.
  8. Can't wait to see some pics, wristies and general impression of this rep. I guess for the extra $20 for Andrew's or Josh's sounds like a good option. Which strap option is closest to the gen btw? Cos I see it's offered in 4 colours. They all look fantastic so the decision making on this bad boy never ends!
  9. I was leaning towards Andrew's cos I am quite bugged by those blue screws. Didn't realised there was also a CP issue. Aaargh. Really want to pull the the trigger on this cos I love the 47mm case!
  10. Wow, gets more and more tempting with each pic I see. It's now down to which version to get - Andrew's or Angus'!!!
  11. Amazing watch! The date font looks pretty big. Is the date wheel a different one from the others used in the AP ROOs sold by the dealers? Amazing watch! The date font looks pretty big. Is the date wheel a different one from the others used in the AP ROOs sold by the dealers?
  12. U can buy items 1 & 2 from Panatime. Google it for website address and look under parts. They should cost around $15. Alternatively, try Jackson Tse from Military Time. Again google should throw out the URL. Good luck.
  13. Been looking at one too. One of the obvious tell is the movement you see thru the case back doesn't come with the gen engraving of "caliber whatever". Also the case back is supposed to be smoked so not sure if the rep does it to. But this is definitely on my radar too. Perhaps will wait for an "ultimate" edition? Haha.
  14. hi anton, is this a 43.7mm? i saw one that my dealer over here was carrying (i live in malaysia) and it looks quite tiny to me (i've got a thick wrist). and then i checked on andrew's site and he listed it as being 42mm if i'm not wrong. i'm really tempted to get this because of the big date...
  15. Same problem, mate, mine doesn't match either. But I think the bigger issue is I find the rubber strap extremely stiff and uncomfortable. Unlike the Panerai rubber straps which wrap nicely round your wrist. Even slightly bigger issue, my B&R is known to stop on its own even when I'm wearing it. Aaargh! I think the movement's slightly screwed. Let me know if yours have the same issue.
  16. Cheers, Unokuul! Maybe next time I'll pay Raymond a visit! I love KL, you guys have got everything, dude!
  17. Cheers, Vantri. I couldn't get an internet connection in KL but ventured there anyway and picked up a vintage Rolex Air King Precision (this is what it looks like except it didn't cost as much, haha, http://www.eora.it/catalog/product_info.ph...oducts_id=1267) for about US$25. I didn't have much time to shop so I went to the one shop and like you said, loads of fantasy models and most of the shops guys tend to be very pushy judging from the conversations they were having with other customers. Well, if time permits, I'd definitely like to go back again. Thanks so much for telling me all these though! Appreciate it!
  18. Cheers, my friend. I'll be in KL in about 12 hours so I can't wait to see what they've got. I'm actually putting the brakes on the Rolexes for awhile so I'm hoping they carry some decent IWCs with 7750s on it. Or a Hublot would be nice too! And a couple of nice PAMs... BTW, did you manage to buy anything there at all? If so, how much did you spend?
  19. Hi, I've sniffed around the forum and found nothing much on the rep scene in Kuala Lumpur. I'm going to be there next week for 2 days and would like to check out some nice reps if there are any dealers there. I hear those at Petaling Street (Chinatown) have now been chased out so I'm not keeping my hopes high on that. Anyone else been there recently and came across some nice pieces? Give me a shout (or a PM would also do nicely). Thanks, fellas!
  20. Personally, I feel any sort of AR is a bonus when it comes to buying reps these days. For me, I always make sure the rep looks as accurate as possible to the original and that always remains top priority for me. AR is a bonus and even then, there are lots of reps which just add a blue tint and try to pass that off as AR. So, in short, no the lack of AR didn't matter that much to me but if you'd rather go for the complete look, you might want to consider the Swiss version of the Steelfish which I believe comes with decent AR on it. If not, the lite Asian version does a pretty decent job for what you're paying. But trust me, you'll love the watch no less! Rxus is spot on with his comments and observations! I totally agree about the weight and the lume and the slightly 'crooked' date but it doesn't bother me one bit! I just wear another watch whenever it comes to those 'crooked' days! BTW Pix, nice picture of the VC Overseas in your avatar. I own the exact same one with white dial and it's also the Asian Lite version. Very nicely built and almost flawless (even the bracelet is well made and lacks the sharpness found on most Swiss Rolexes) and not to mention, great price as well. So much so I'm thinking of getting the one with the Black dial just to add to my collection!
  21. ahhh... the steelfish lite... i've got one and it works like a charm. no problem whatsoever as long as the lack of AR doesn't bother you, this is a steal! but check that the date clicks on the dot at 12am though. when choosing dial colour, i originally wanted white but the date on that one didn't click at midnight so i settled for a blue dial instead which worked perfectly. you know what some of these reps are like, lack of QC so we've got to do our own. good luck!
