2.5 years and still going strong - looks and runs like new! I got the Orange UPO from Andrew! The first one had the crown stripping problem but that was resolved and has been smooth sailing since.

Lani, I'll have to look for that post of yours - do you know what par is for the co-axial in terms of longevity? Omega used to claim all kinds of things - 10 years, then I used to hear 6-8 years between intervals, but nobody knew because at least the Omega iterations hadn't been proven yet. Now, it seems they've been around enough to get some decent numbers. This place has inspired enough mods and tinkering, who know what I'll do next with my PO ;-)

I have a UPO purchased in 2007 that has been a reliable and accurate time keeper and still is today. I also have a gen 42mm PO that I purchased a year earlier. The GEN has just stopped working. It no longer winds. I just got a response back from Omega and as it's just out of warranty, it'll cost me $460 total to get it back to my door, and I already spent $30 to get it there. The $500 cost to service a gen that failed long before it should have just makes these amazing reps look that much better.

Great news about the pearl. Can you tell about the triangle top - curved or straight?

Ronin, That is the coolest bond watch I've seen! I wish they were selling that exact one. Well done.

Is it just me, or is the triangle in the new insert wrong and a pretty big tell. I believe the top of the triangle angles downward toward the tip in this version while the gen does not do this. The other DSSD reps don't, that's for sure. Am I wrong?

Lani, thanks for the great find and tips. I'd like to do this with my V3 but there's a slight problem. To keep from losing my pearl and in order to position it in place, I super-glued it onto the bezel and there's quite a lot of super glue bonded beneath the pearl. The bezel turns fine but I'm wondering if you have any ideas for me in regards to removing my now bonded insert? Thanks! P

It's the design of the new blue ceramic sub (and perhaps the black ss due this year), PVD'd, glide-lock clasp, and factory waterproofed. Any thoughts on this piece?

Firstly, thank you to our dealer Josh for an amazing watch and excellent service. Thank you also to all those who have reviewed and provided guides for modding the various DSSD models. I know this watch has been reviewed and discussed many times over but not often do we get reports after a watch has seen a lot of use. So here is my report: - I purchased this DSSD V3 21J for $128 from Josh 6 months ago and have worn it nearly every day since. - Fast shipment: I received it within 5 days of placing my order. - Arrived and looked identical to V3 review pictures and dealer pictures - Secured Pearl: My first order of business was to pop off the pearl and re-seat it with loctite super glue. - I then attempted the V3 to V4 paint upgrade in the following weeks. No other mods were made. - Accurate time: approx 12-15 seconds fast per week. - Survived terrible treatment. This watch has been free-diving to 30 feet, pummeled in the sand, has endured incredible shock at the shooting range, been scraped against a brick wall, and continues to provide reliable time and stunning looks. I've attached pictures taken today to show its condition and luminosity. I'm quite impressed with the lume on this model. It glows legibly all night long in the characteristic blue fashion. What an incredible value. My one nit-pick is that a couple of the links in the band started to separate...but only after extreme use, and even then it was an easy fix. So, in conclusion, after 6 months of heavy use, this $128 watch remains one of my favorite time keepers even among my gens. P

I've definitely had experiences in the past where I've need some basic lube/overhaul/regulation work - just nothing quite this extreme in a $300+ rep - so hopefully just bad luck. Do you think the new decorative parts may actually increase the likelihood of failure in the future? Might I be better off with a Swiss ETA? I'll let you know what the dealer says and hope to do a full review with pics once I receive a working model.

Both Josh and Andrew's sites are down at the moment so I can't find the link but it's the newest GMT Master II Ceramic rep with Rolex replicated movement.

The 2nd day into wearing the new GMT IIc with the replicated movement and the watch has completely stopped working. At first the green hand was all over the place - jumping in various increments at each hour. Then, after "settling in", the green hand kept time but the auto wind began to become markedly louder. Then, at 12:29 PM PST, the beautifully replicated GMT ceased to operate at all. Either this movement is not yet perfected and is problematic or I received a dud. Aesthetically, it's beautiful - just as the dealer pictures. Lume. The lume is absolutely terrible. My DSSD V3 looks like a torch next to this. After an hour or so, the lume is no longer visible. Appears as though the lume is either the same or slightly worse than the previous version. P

I agree with Falco...if it's slow because they're getting the details right then it is worth the wait! I'm still in.

Since we're going for a James Bond sub, why not use the movie screenshot as a reference for color? I think Nanuq is correct when he says the color should be ivory.
