  1. The pin doesn't seem to be broke, just recessed. Can I go in through the bottom of the movement and see if I can elevate the affected wheel?
  2. Well, I really appreciate all the advice. It worked well. NOW, got it all together and working,,,BUT,,, one attempt to set the second hand and the center shaft (in the canon pinion) went down too low. Now it won't hold the second hand. WTF!!! Any suggestions???
  3. Thank you, but that's not the issue. I can even get the stem out in the first place. This particular DG3804 is as described below... "The pin on a 3804 is not part of the set lever like on other movements. The pin is a press fit into the main plate. The set lever has a drilling in it that just sets down over the pin. The pin doesn't appear to move. I have pushed on the pin with some degree of force and it does not move."
  4. Help, I'm having the same issue. Can't get the stem out of a brand new DG3804. The pin does not depress as described above. What to do???
  5. Anyone know where to get a replacement bezel pearl for a DSSD?

  8. I'm looking for a 116610 Ceramic Submariner for around the $200 - $300 range. Who sells the one with the best, "out of the box" lume??? -Matt
  9. Miagi, that's a great piece, definitely on my list. Another one is the Eterna Kontiki line. Both can be had for around $1200 on the forums. But both are very hard to come by and in high demand.
  10. I agree the Grand Seiko line is VERY nice and the spring drive is amazing. Tested more stringent than COSC standards. That being said, I agree that it would probably earn more kudos to begin with a less expensive watch ($400-$1200 range). You would be amazed at the quality. Learn about the brands and the technology. That way you can talk up all the similarities and differencesthey they have to the big boys. Know the differences in the grades of the movements, the steel, the crystals, the lume, and the waterproofing. There are very nice COSCs that you can pick up for just over a grand. There's also great watches out there with top grade ETAs for $600 - $700. This way you show that you know quality and value, and you truly know what the real difference is between a $500 and a $5000 watch (or $10K-$100K, oy vey). This will also help you make a more informed decision when you are ready to take the plunge on the real McCoy. Fortunately, the big boys do hold their value on the secondary market. I've flipped many gen pieces without any trouble. You never know if a watch is for you until it's on your wrist. Here's some nice brands to look at... MKII, Zenton, Hamilton, Seiko, Bali Ha', Bathys Hawaii, Boschet, Dievas, Halios, Helson, Korsbek, Kremke, Lüm-Tec, Magrette, Ocean7, Prometheus, etc...

  15. The watches are on there way. They were "Processed Through Sort Facility" on 9/3/12 (Shanghai Time). Maybe I'll get lucky and have them for the upcoming weekend. I can't post the QC pics because they all include the shipping slip that has my info. I will provide pics and reaction upon receipt. .

  18. I got the QC pics this morning and it looked like there were some light scratches on the GMT 2 bezel insert. Trevor just got back to me a few minutes ago and all is good. No scratches on the insert. His next e-mail will be confirmation that the watches have shipped. So far, this has been a good experience.
  19. Just got the QC pics this morning. A day in a half wait from the time I paid is not bad. All looks good except for what looked like some small scratches on the GMT II bezel insert. I e-mailed seller and we'll see... Oh yea, included in the pics was the EMS packaging showing my address. Nice confirmation that it should get to the right destination.
  20. I just placed my first rep order today from Trevor. I’m starting this thread to document the entire process. I’ll finish with a review of the watches. -ROLEX GMT SS ANNI BLACK ASIA ETA 2836 GMT -OMEGA PLANET OCEAN 45 MM ULTIMATE ASIAN ETA 2824 BLACK I've been researching for the last few days about the various dealers and decided on Trevor. His communication to this point has been pretty good. I finally decided to start with these two. He informed me they are in stock and sent me PayPal information. I just pulled the trigger. My next update will be when the QC pics arrive. -Matt
