If you're looking for optimal lume quality, stick with C3. Have a look at the following comparison chart, from Kent Parks' Everestwatchworks.com site:
(C7 is Top Right, C3 is Top Middle)
c7 is actually top left...

I just received my 183 the other day, and I can tell the crown threads are hanging on by a.....thread blink.gif...
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to post a pictorial tutorial on replacing the crown and crown tube, oorrrr if anyone has any idea if one already exists and I could be pointed to it. Thanks!!

Typical Monday..hard to decide what to wear.
Had the choice between these beauties.

this watch was all over the back cover of my girlfriends latest AVON (ladies makeup) catalog: they even call it XL!
How big is it?

To be honest I don't feel comfortable to ask this favour to someone that I don't know very well.. I think it is too much to ask.. and after all those years in RWG I made a few friend in US that can help me and feel more close to them..
But of course if no one else is close to the Store and willing to do it, I will be very happy if you could check it.
I really appreciate it
No problem V, I understand. Let me know!

V.. I am located in Atlanta, and would be willing to go by there and check it out if you can confirm they have what you need. Let me know

Nice watch. No offense, but those are some fugly shoes.

your stem is loose. easy to fix. unscrew the caseback and tighten the small screw nearest the crown. not super tight, just snug.
Thanks Flav! I'll give this a try tomorrow

Is this normal? I just received a 183 from another member and it seems to be acting a little weird. When I pull the crown out, I wind it by turning it counter-clockwise (which I initially thought was weird, because I read it was clockwise).
Then, after adjusting the tiime, I push the crown back in and the time can still be adjusted, but the seconds hand is running. So I then have to fully start screwing in the crown before it will disengage from the time adjusting rotor.
Is all this weird? Am I not doing it right? Can anyone give me a brief noob tutorial for the 183? Thanks!

The lume was excellent... definately SuperLume.
Don't remember about AR.. I think it had.
So the biggest issue you had with it was the color of the lettering? Is it really noticeable? I am not a really picky guy about my watches, but something that would be an EASY tell would potentially bother me...
I guess I'll just do a comparison with some gen pics when I get it.

If I am not mistaken I think that this model has white RADIOMIR PANERAI BLACK SEAL on thedial while it should have been salmon coloured..
But maybe he offers now a different watch..
Generally I was not impressed by the watch.. and sold it the week after I got it.
Really? That's not good to hear I believe the watch I purchased was about 8 or 9 months old, so Im guessing thats when his "special editions" were available. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. Lume looked good though, couldnt tell AR from photos, but definitely needs cannon pin fix. Hmm....

it's a very good 183! parts are easily interchanged but i've had no problems with the crown stripping on mine.
Great! I did end up getting it. Flav - do you have the EL Sp. Edition as well? If so, could you tell me more about it? Is it just SL and shorter dagger? Or is there something else..

Hey all, I just wanted to post a few pics I took here the other day. Greetings from Laguna Beach, California!!
Not sure if this should be in "introductions" but if it should, admin please move!

My dad got it as a company gift from GTE (now Verizon) for 20 years with the company. The markings on the case back are a big "GTE" in the middle, and "Stainless steel case and back 955.132 water resistant 10 ATM" around the circumference (what does the ATM stand for, anyway?). It's clearly a knock-off of a Rolex DayDate, but does anyone know what the manufacturer is and what it might be worth? I'm not considering selling it or anything, just sort of curious.
I'd be [censored] of my company gave that to me as a gift......

OK, so I am in the process of possibly purchasing one of EL's special edition 183's from a while back. I am not really sure what is so "special" about it, but apparently it is super-lumed, and has shorter daggar neck?? (Please someone chime in if they know...)
Anyway, I am probably going to send it off immediately to have the Cannon pin fix, but was also curious about having the crown and tube replaced. Does anyone know if Davidsen's crown will fit in EL's case (or any other cases for that matter)??
Any knowledge on EL's special edition, or the interchangability of parts would be EXTREMELY helpful. Thanks!!

I had no problem with the humor.. my response to johtheboy was (an apparently poor) attempt at humor as well... as if to reinforce the notion of the US centric american by suggesting the map looked fine to me. Sorry if it did not come accross that well. I have already pm'ed an apology to him
The comment from By-tor was not humorous.. in fact he said words to that effect that he would find it funny if it were not true... i do not think it was intended to be offensive, but those statements were not said in jest, and using lables like "Bubba" in a non-joking fashion are no more appropriate than making similar comments about folks who live in eurpean, or asian countries.
I will get off my soapbox now. This will be my last response to this post regardless of what is said.
Agree. Well said Edd...

OK, so I have looked at the specs, pics, etc between josh's 2 black ceramic J12's. Specifically, CHA10013 and CHA10001.
The only thing I can find that maybe the issue is the date font and I thought at first it was an update, but actually the cheaper one (10013) was actually added at a later date, and is newer.
Anyway, if anyone has a clue as to what the difference is, I would love to know, links follow:
CHA10013: http://watchwindersworld.com/cha10013-blac...rtz-p-2347.html
CHA10001: http://watchwindersworld.com/cha10001-blac...rtz-p-1775.html
Thanks!

You mean that tiny cylindrical piece that is stepped even smaller on both ends and an itty bitty spring that both sit in a hole? I have a spare. PM me your details and I'll send it to you. Use a bit of silicone grease to 'stick' them together and in the hole so they don't come out when you try to put it all back together. The spring goes into the hole first, then the pin. Then snap the bezel back on flat.
WOW!! Just checking through the forums today and saw that Krusty is helping out a fellow member.. AGAIN!!!! This morning he sent me a spare link for my Omega PO bracelet, Now helping out with a spring? Couldn't ask for a more stand up guy. Thanks Krusty!!
