With this in mind, it suggests to me that the only way a JF rehaut could be wokky is if it is shallower than gen. That would also suggest that the case construction is not 1:1, as it would require the movement to move further forward in the case, and would alter the crown position.

If I have this wrong, I welcome someone to correct me.

The wokkyness of the case has nothing to do with the movement location or stem height. The angle of the rehaut wall is the only thing that is affected.

    Beautiful combo BTW!

Pretty sure someone that's been around as long as DVNE knows that. ;) I think he was just looking for the maker.

:D that is correct. I have had a few phongs i.e. 94010 & 94110 but never a 7016. It gooks great! I was hoping it was from a cheaper source because I wouldn't mind having one. :)

  3. I haven't seen any rep seconds hand that tapers like the gen so I opted for gen hands. Money well spent IMO, especially when using a 3135 clone movement.

I was so undecided on whether I was going to build a 16610 or a 16613 I ended up buying gen dial, hands and datewheel for both models. I decided on sticking with a 16610 build since I couldn't afford the gold bezel or crown after. lol

Edit: I just checked OFrei and they sell aftermarket 3135 hands and the second hand looks like it tapers. Could be an illusion though. Not bad at $26

  4. I reposted a picture of a 'torn down' and stripped JF on RWI but it mysteriously got taken down. It is a bargain of a watch but it is definitely wokky. I thought it was just the crystal that was distorting it but it is not. The pic I saw was the stripped case with no crystal or bezel. It really is wokky but it is still a bargain for the price. Here is another pic I found: image.thumb.png.66c1f1df157e51adb96bab1d1b827322.png

Would be some work reshaping the lugs and drilling them. Alternative would be to source an ST case with lug holes.

Also if you build a 16800 you need to build it with a matte dial or what's the point?

As a previous owner of a ST case, it sucks. CG shape is bad and the lugs are fat. I replaced it with a TC case and had the lugs drilled. It has a much better shape profile.

@sogeha I had the same intentions as you but I am waiting for the LN as a base to start out with. I figure I could just vintage lume the jf LN hands.  My next issue is the open 6 datewheel. I regretfully sold a old franken of mines with a open 6 3135 date disk. I had no idea how rare and how hard it is to find one.

Anyone know how TC insert compares to JF?

Looks a lot more accurate based on the thickness of the font alone. The TC insert is the best aftermarket insert available.
