  1. I have often wondered if Rolexes worn in movies, etc., are gens or reps. Many of the characters played require a Rolex to make the role more believable. For instance, Tony from the Sopranos. He always has a 18kt Presidential. Modern Famaly's Ed O'Neal gfoes from a Submariner to Daytona to Panerai. I cannot imagine any star would want to wear their personal watch on set. Wouldn't it be an ethical concern (or legal) if these were in fact reps?
  2. Well stated PCARDOZA! What is wrong with those who seem to get so offended with a newbie asking questions? I know when I first began my rep hobby I had no idea what "DSSD," "gen," noob," etc. meant. Most of the Threads I read to educate myself had these acronyms in them and I had no idea what they meant. My point is reading these posts do not always educate. Again, great comments PC!
  3. The hand stacks are different. Can you please tell me what order they should be on the gen and rep? The only way to change the date on one of them is by spinning the arms and minute hand like old Timex watches. It takes a l oot of winding on one of them so I assume this is the gen? The bracelets do feel a bit different. On one of them, the link closest to the watch head on both sides has an engraved number: 78790A. The other watch has no numbers engraved on the links closest to the watch head.
  4. Outstanding...this is the info I need. The hand stacks are different. Can you please tell me what order they should be on the gen and rep? 5. Boy do I feel stupid having to ask this question...... I have both a gen and rep GMT II Pepsi. They are identical in style. Okay......here goes......please don't make me feel bad asking......I cannot tell the two apart. The rep is just that close. I mean this....I cannot tell which is which. Can someone please give me a few pointers to look for so I can tell which is the gen? I am being sincere here as silly as it sounds! Embarrassingly, I say "thanks" to anyone who helps me.
  6. Ple That would be great if you could post a link! Thanks!
  7. I am thinking of buying this same watch from Andrew. How did things work out? My understanding is that the only differenmce between the $128 waych and $248 watch is the movement. Are you happy with the cheaper priced movement? Is it worth an extra $120 to upgrade?
  8. Looked at the BK and didn't see a Red/Black GMTII.
  9. I really appreciate everyone's help!!! Here are the links again: http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_5&products_id=10351 http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_5&products_id=10349 Are the bezel inserts metal on the gens of these reps? I will look at it now!
  10. I am about to pull the trigger on a GMT II from Trusty. (Really been impressed by his e-mail communication!) Looking at this Ultimate for $128 http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_5&product s_id=10349 And this Ultimate for $248. http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_5&product s_id=10351 Can any of you experts chime in and let me know what you think about these two watches. It appears as if they are the same watch, just different movements. Are there any obvious differences between these and the gen that the average person could see. These both come with a metal bezel insert. Do the gens have metal bezel inserts? Thanks everyone for taking the time to help me make my choice!
  11. I likey! Great job!
