  1. Working remote in the Australian outback. This UPO has done me well.
  2. Thought I should update this. It was recommended to me by the dealer that I return the watch and let the experts replace the crystal. I did so and it's been returned. I'm working remote in the Australian out back and won't be able to see how it is for a few weeks. The service I've had is just awesome. So pleased I found this site and a couple others like it and have been steered in the direction of the 'trusted dealers'. I can only imagine the stress of trying to deal with dodgy ones.
  3. None of these look like they were taken on the 3rd. I don't understand.
  4. O.k. been told by a new crystal will be sent out in a couple of weeks. Was given the option to send the watch back to have it installed but I opted to have a go myself. I'm a vagrant and may will be away from my P.O. Box so can't really have anything I have to sign for show up. It could get returned if I'm not here. Have just ordered some dodgy looking watch tools on ebay for this mission..........I'll document this crystal replacement attempt with photographs once I have the everything in place and I'm good to go.
  5. Hey SSTEEL thanks for that. Seems to be exactly the same issue. I can see how the problem could get missed at QC. I didn't notice for maybe 20 hours while it was on my wrist! Because of the light conditions. I don't put any blame on the dealer. I've sent an email, be interested to see how I get on. Have a bit of gear on order with the same place at the moment. Hopefully I can have another crystal sent with it.
  6. Here's another shot with the sun hitting it fully side on. It's weird, any other angle and it looks fine!
  7. Thanks, I'm fairly sure the problem is internal with this one too. Bit of a shame. Spent about $400. I'll mail the supplier and see if he'll ship out another crystal. Going to be interesting trying to change it!
  8. Thanks. I'm might have a go at cleaning it then rather than getting another crystal. The dust is invisible under normal conditions. Or even strong light as long as it's not shining in from the side.
  9. Sorry, photo is too big. Trying to fix it.
  10. Hi, I've a recently purchased dssd. Somethings up with the crystal that I noticed today for the first time. The watch to me looks great under most light conditions except.......When strong light hits it from about perpendicular to the face. It appears sort of cloudy and to have tiny bubbles in the crystal, that or dust/dirt on the under side. I can't tell! Was driving down the road, checked the time and the way the sun hit it exposed this. At night or with an over head sun it looks perfectly clear. Bubbles or dust?
  11. Thanks SSTEEL, I like the Omega. Have a rep of the orange bezel 45 at the moment.
  12. I don't know enough about it, is someone able to help me out? Cheers. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Members/Listings.aspx?member=1693677&cid=246
  13. Just got email from mail tracking, first watches are at the post office ready to pick-up! Woohoo...........
  14. Only been here a couple of weeks. In that time your wonderful forum has allowed me to order a few watches with peace of mind via your TD section. Have just paid for a membership up-grade, just the v.i.p at this stage. Hope it helps a little.
  15. I should have read the wiki.answers definition and edited it accordingly instead of just copying and pasting it. Sorry about that paneraiguy. Of course we're all kiwis bro, even silly a little Pākehā like me!
  16. Cheers for the warm welcome guys, it's appreciated. Don't know how I'd go if I try and product review anything I buy as I don't have much to compare against. I might give it a go though. p.s. for MD2020 - Copied from wiki.answers..... 'Kiwis, a nickname used by Pakeha (non-Maori) New Zealanders, are named after a unique flightless bird about the size of a large chicken. The Kiwi was named by the Maori after it's call which sounds like keeee weeee. How the nickname stuck is unknown but nothing else exists like it in the world and New Zealanders like to think that we are unique. We ARE NOT named after the small brown fruit. In New Zealand they are called Kiwifruit never ever just "Kiwi" the kiwifruit was a marketing name as New Zealand was the first place where they were grown commercialy but they never got around to trademarking the name.'
  17. Hello. I chanced apon this forum while looking to buy a watch online. Very pleased I did, I could have made a big mistake risking a purchase from some dodgy online seller. Your trusted section is here awseome! Just put in an order for two watches via a dealer listed there, can't wait to see how they are. I've picked up a few rough replicas over the years off the streets of SE asia. Really rough ones to be honest. I've only kept one as the others gave up on me. Anyways thought I should write something and say hello. Regards Jimi.
  18. Welcome to the forums JimiLewis :)
