  1. Boy, do I ever have a treat here (mainly for myself, I suspect): one of Massive (Attack's) very first vids - banned on MTV - a totally unknown and very rare item. Absolutely sublime vocals and an incredible juxtaposition between everything and everything else. For me, a masterpiece, a visual poem, a perfect work of art....
  2. I really liked the complimentary call-girls...hoping you get it all fixed for tonight!
  3. I don't know if the problem has been fixed, but the three vids I posted last night in Off Topic have reverted back to code today*.... strange, since several others posted by TT still work. Please let us know when it's ok to continue posting from YouTube? *Most likely because I wanted to add a few comments and opened the editing function - when I re-posted the edited comment it probably updated into Admins. no-run modification. Clear? No? Well, upgrade your membership or make a donation and I'll send you a personal explanation along with some dirty pictures from France!
  4. You clearly have your own take and your own approach: unfortunately, most people contribute nothing when the admin say they have a shortfall. This is not your case, but you are an exception to the rule. No one really wants to 'pillory' anyone here: have you seen many real examples of that directed at any one person? But some of us are getting irritated at a situation which ceaselessly repeats itself: there are never nearly enough 'volunteers' for the voluntary contribution. The Administration has gone out of its way to act in an extremely conciliatory and gentlemanly manner concerning this problem - to the point of sometimes not - or barely - having enough money to keep the forum up and running! If there is any harrassment concerning contributions, it's not coming from the Administration, which apparently prefers quietly suffering to noisily insisting, but from a handful of the more vocal members who see what's happening and are sick of seeing it happen time and again. And if anyone is to blame, it might be more rational to direct your criticism towards the huge majority of forum members who go missing every time - as you put it - the admin has a shortfall and has need of member participation to offset it. Blaming the people who are trying to resolve this recurring problem by bringing it to the forefront is really unjust, given the basic injustice of who pays for what at RWG. If you have any further doubts as to the absurdity of the situation, just look at the current one: we've been debating, discussing and writing reams of opinion about it for the last two days. And with what result: a ridiculously small handful of members have generously responded, while everyone else is simply going about their business as if none of this concerned them. Is pointing this out putting people in the pillory? This situation should have resolved itself within the first day it was presented by the Administration, yet here we still are, debating the fine points of who's feelings might get hurt when the forum members are confronted by their own flagrant lack of support of the forum. I've heard of certain people are possessed by an extreme sense of entitlement, but personally I have another word for this kind of selfish behavoir: abusively taking advantage of the generosity and good will of others.
  5. Talk about having a bad day....
  6. I wonder what it's like when elwopo gets annoyed....?

  8. I can't resist dedicating this little bijou by the Prodigy to our very own and oh-so-very-proper, Miss Barrett...could this be the life she secretly dreams about? Only her id knows for sure....
  9. Very nice....didn't know Milosh...lovely music and an excellent video. If I can figure out how to embed, I'll be back with some of my favs - which are practically endless... Let me try with this: Nope. I'll have to try it 'manually'. Back in a minute.... Ok! The Avalanches, 'Since I Left You':
  10. Yes, of course: I think most of us (especially the majority who've never contributed anything whatsoever to the forum) agree that money per se should not be a determinate factor. But the bottom line is that it takes a fair amount of money to keep this forum up and running. And thus we're confronted by the problem - which we see every time that Admin. is obliged to pass the hat - of huge numbers of members who contribute neither the wherewithall to keep the forum going financially, nor any useful input. These people are generally querying for information as to the best sources for purchases, complaining about deals that have soured or inflating their egos by posting about their latest acquisitions - which tend to be many. Why should the same core group of members subsidize the forum for the same (larger) core group of free-loaders who use RWG to satisfy their own objectives without ever thinking of giving back? I think that after a year on the forum for free, the choice of either becoming a supporting member or clearing out for good should be offered - with an automated system of simply blocking the ISP of those who don't respond. I also feel that all the understanding in the world should be given by the Administration to the members who regularly "contribute in kind" through informative posts, as well as those infrequent cases where a member is just not in a postion to contribute financially: poo happens, and there are moments in some people's lives where every cent really does count - or so I'd like to believe. Personally, I'd like to see an end to this problem once and for all - we've been through it too many times now, and it always resolves itself in the same way: a few decent guys step forward and upgrade, while the majority hang back and wait for the turbulence to pass. Just take a look at the membership roster at the bottom of the main page after reading this to see what I mean....the ratio of supporting to non-supporting members really speaks for itself.
  11. We even have a logo ready to go!
  12. I think we've got a live one here! The forum's money problems are over - yippee! MR.GEORGE NYERERE 345 LUISE BOTHA ROAD JHB2001. SOUTH AFRICA. TEL: 27-833-676-420 My dear friend I do foresee the surprise this letter will bring to you as it comes from a stranger. But rest assured as it comes with best of intentions. However, your address was courtesy of the Internet. But after due consideration from your profile, I became aware and assured of your credibility of handling this trust and my future. Thus, after my humble decision to solicit for your understanding and co-operation in this transaction, as it will be beneficial to all of us involved. My name is Mr. George Nyerere, from Tanzania . I am the son of the Late President of Tanzania JULIUS KAMBARAGE NYERERE, who died on the 14 October 1999 about seven years ago. My father used his position then to make for him self and us some fortune. My father died after a protracted illness. I was studying overseas when my father died and I was forced to return for the funeral. His attorney notified me and my family about my father's will with his chambers. When I was going through the will, I discovered that my late father had used his position then to make some money, which he brilliantly transferred and deposited it with a private Security Company here in Johannesburg, Republic of South Africa. He deposited this consignment as valuables. The Security Company does not know that this consignment contains cash money, except the attorney and me. The amount is Eight million United States Dollars (USD 8MILLION). However, my aim of contacting you is to help me and take this sum into your nominated account in your country or any other part of the world. Secondly, you will also help me look for a profitable investment overseas because I don't have knowledge of international investments. As a result of my present situation, I won't be able to conclude this transaction alone. If you are interested in helping me out, try and contact me with the above phone number, or-mail address indicating your interest to help me, not forgetting to include your private phone and fax numbers for easier communication. I will then furnish you with more details. I have mutually agreed to compensate you with 25% of the total sum for your assistance, 5% for expenses in the course of the transaction. Then the remaining 70% will remain for my family and me, which you will help us invest. Be informed that this transaction needs utmost trust and confidentiality. Note also that the transaction attracts no risk on your side hence all the modalities for safe, smooth and successful transaction have been arranged by me. Looking forward to receiving your urgent reply. God bless you, GEORGE NYERERE (JNR)(FOR THE FAMILY)
  13. That's entirely to his credit, but among other purposes, all those yellow rectangles we see around people's names are an indication of the forum's financial health at any given moment. Otherwise, why even feature them? I would imagine that Febus' actions are rather atypical. Can you give us an idea of how many others are quietly donating in the background without any visible indication of their contributions? Are there any others?
  14. This is starting to get much too subtle for my limited intellectual capacities. Nevertheless, I'm tempted to answer, in that case, why not just upgrade to VIP rather than remaining an 'invisible benefactor'?
  15. ...that ryyannon will hound you to the ends of the earth and make your life a total hell until you do But as Ken says, your decision to cough up the dough is entirely voluntary, of course...
  16. My sincere thanks to all those who've either contributed to this thread or good-naturedly laughed at their profiles... but I think it's time to (at least temporarily) call it a wrap: One would have to be either hopelessly dense or totally indifferent to the current problems facing the forum not to have got it by now. The rest is up to the members (and not just those who were 'profiled') who have read the thread and recognized that they are both part of the problem and its solution. It's never a pleasure hurting people's feelings, and such was never the objective of this little exercise: I trust that most can understand that. If any of this has amused, interested or otherwise engaged you, the best way of responding would be by a membership upgrade or a modest donation... This is of course entirely up to individual choice: if some of you think I'm trying to decide for you or otherwise trying to force you into it, you might want to take a closer look at how you...um... think. Depending on the response we recieve over the next few days (or the lack of it) I may be back, distilling more of my venom on these pages - the only way not choke on it myself, given the lamentable situation of the financial burden of keeping this forum up, constrantly falling upon the same people - including the selfless Boss, who has more than once payed for its upkeep out of his own pocket - which unlike the apparent indifference by many of the members to the situation here, is far from being bottomless.
  17. It's still all about you, isn't it, dude.
  18. I presume that the "least you can do" means upgrading your membership and not shooting me in the head? Ok, let's go for the first: Thank you, Defacto, and welcome to the select group of suckers who pay for everyone else! May The Watch Angels (TTK, JetMid, and Slay) watch over and protect you in all your future illegal endeavors!
  19. Well, they do seem smart enough to order a watch.... But who knows, really?
  20. Really Pug, how could you ever imagine that? Visible only to VIP members: By the way, you forgot to include just a frigging contribution if they're too cheap (or broke, like the poor souls reduced to having to buy gens to satisfy their needs) to go VIP - just a little something to show that they appreciate everything that's being done on this forum for its members. No, but really, Pug....you've sooo hurt my feelings!
  21. Well guys, I can't say how happy I am that these little write-ups please you. After all, it's the whole point.... The proof, if any more was needed, that no good deed goes unpunished.
  22. Can anyone point me to an Emoticon of a guy (me) shooting himself in the head?

Marc283 Joined: 19-March 06 Profile Views: 3* Last Seen: Today, 04:08 PM Local Time: Aug 31 2007, 04:56 PM 38 posts (0 per day) Another dude who's been around since the year 1 at RWG, Marc283 may be thriftly in his posts, but he sure lets out all the stops when it comes to spending his swag on genuine watches! After nearly springing for a rather pricey Planet Ocean, Marc283 realized that "I really liked the Breitling Superocean Steelfish also"and the rest is history: "It was fun to shop for a gen watch. Will do it again I guess sometime in the future." I don't mean to dampen your enthusiasm for gens and all, but have you ever seriously thought about the future of RWG, Marc? Who knows. But what's for sure is that in the meantime, 'Life Is Good' for Marc283: no stranger to the rep world either, our man was recently waxing poetic about his new and "beautifull Chopard Gran Tursimo XL, white dial" in the columns of RWG. With so many watches - both gens and reps in the hands of so many members - why is it that so many of them don't seem to know what time it is around here? Could it be that outside of fluffing their own egos, they really don't care? Nah, couldn't be that.... Could it, Marc?

  25. Now, that's an example of Cartesianism in action, FasTT! "I think, therefore I work in bu$ine$$..." Sadly enough, RWG is also having a bad time these days: it can't find enogh people to upgrade their membership - or even make a donation of deux fois trois sous. Et c'est la galere for ze guy who runs it all! But since you're a marketing ace, maybe you could suggest a way to sell the idea of supporting RWG to the members who still haven't contributed...before we have to turn into a watch pr0n site just to make ends meet? A votre bon coeur, mon ami!
