Millionsmart will produce cases or whole watches to you specification in runs as small as 100 units I believe. Obivously the per unit price will be higher than if buying larger volume. -

Because these are legal Chinese watches you'll note the good quality control.Rep manafacturers want massive returns because their trade is illegal, and as the nly brand that can be damaged is that if the company they are copying quality control is very much an afterthought. -

Visited Bozeman Watch Company while on vacation

Difference being that FM et al used ETA's as base calibers and then did a lot of work on them. These things are more like cartier watches only more expensive and with zero name recognition. These things at best have basic ETA movements in them. This guy... http://www.christopherward.co.uk/ ...does much the same only his prices are more in tune with reality. -

LOL, this company is a joke. Thousands of dollars for basic steel watches with quartz movements. These things are worth a few hundred dollars tops. Total rip off outfit IMO no better than Montres Allison. You'd have to be a moron to buy anything from these jokers. -
basic ETA submariner + superlume, bezel pearl and inspection = $300. PLenty of room for profit there
-
Looking for a dealer that sells submariners with superlume and other minor mods. I'm surprised some of the guys that do this work have not started selling watches with these mods in place
-
I've always fancied a tungsten watch, the shine, heft and extreme scratch resistance makes them very appealing. Sadly for some reason all the tungsten watchs you find on the Internet are horrid in terms of design. Anyone know of any such watches with more appealing design
-
Am I right in assuming that the casework, bracelet and dial on the much cheaper asian version are the same as on the ETA? In essence a sapphire crystal with AR coating and ETA movement add $200 to the price. If that is the case the asian version seems like a much better deal.
-
I simply pointed out to the buyers that the kitchen and bathroom have 'ceramic' tiles.
-
Pushing 800 bucks now for an asian 7750 watch with a bit of ceramic!
-
I did. I know some members are offering a custom PVD service, but was not able to find anything about stuff direct from dealers
-
Are the pannies, or any of the other reps for that matter, using a real PVD process yet?
-
I'm looking for someone offering PVD coating services, preferably in Europe. This isn't actually watch related, but the places I've contacted only deal in bulk. I'm looking to have some basic metal parts coated.
-
That's somewhat harder than TiN I think, up to about 2500 vickers. Tungsten carbide is around 1500 by comparison. I assume this particular coating can be done in various colours?
-
What coatings can your guy apply? I need the hardest PVD appliable coating possible
-
I'm building a watch based on my pwn design so I am really interested in this. I have the case being constructed using emachineshop and have been considering some sort of PVD applied coating. What coating materials does your guy offer? Titanium nitrite by any chance?
-
PVD is the name of the process, but what will actually be 'deposited' on the watch? I'd like some sort of ultra hard coating to prevent scratches and other wear.

Isn't that a fairly inexpesnive watch anyway? -
Crooked dial markers, logos or other print. Very common defect on reps.
-
I think it's quite obvious what is happening. I think a lot of dealers are moving away from catering to watch enthusiasts because they have high expectations. Why sell a watch to someone here who will not accept production flaws when they can sell to the less knowledgeable for twice the price and send them any old defective junk. QC has always been hit and miss, but dealers (the good ones) did make an effort not to send out any blatantly faulty goods. Not so these days. Too many drop shippers who never see their products, and too many dealers looking to offload defective merchandise on new buyers. With some plain steel reps now going for $1k you would think QC might improve, sadly not. I've said this before - The facotirs that produce rpelicas are not solely used for the production of replicas. Many legitimate brands will be wholly or partly made in these factories. Buyers get flawed merchandise because there is no contract at stake. If these factories are selling all they make regardless of QC, then there is no incentive at all for them to address quality issues.
-
It's a concern from a QC perspective when even the pictures on dealers sites almost always have QC problems. You would think they would at least try and find an atypical example to tempt buyers. I suppose the other option is getting a genuine dial fitted on the watch
