  1. Damn it I just bought the noob version!! Oh well better get this one as well!!
  2. Finally it's here!! Possibly the best rep in my collection by far! It's just flawless in every way and has great wrist presence. Large but not overbearing like my super avenger. The crown turns beautifully and the bezel has a nice responsive click all the the way round. Only gripe is that under the Clasp where the Rolex badge is located. Looks like someone got trigger happy with a dremmel and scratched it but no drama as it will never be seen. Very happy with forking out this amount of cash and toro was goo to deal with. Crappy iphone pics to follow as soon as I'm home.
  3. I have just bought the noob version from Toro. Should be here soon and I will update on the quality when I have it.
  4. Wow!! Absolutely beautiful!!! I'd buy 2 reps of this... 1 for each wrist!! Gorgeous watch.
  5. Very good article thanks for the link. I'm hoping the comparison was an earlier version than the latest noob tho lol. Any ideas on whom is able to carry out the work you mentioned with the greasing and o-ring?
  6. Thanks for the advice guys. Just given green light as it was just dirt on the face I had noticed. I'll post some pics as soon as it's in my hands!
  7. What do you guys think of this
  8. I did consider intime also and may give Ryan a shot next time.
  9. Paid by credit card this afternoon and QC pics just now. Not happy with a few points tho. No timegrapher pic like other dealers and seems to be a tiny hair next to 5 marker. Also no pictures of bracelet and clasp. Just asked for these so will keep posted.
  10. Ok so I'm about to pull the trigger on watch number 5 and it's been a while since I've bought one. I've bought all of them thus far from Trusty but I see Toro also has decent reviews and stocks the noob DSSD. Has anyone had any experience with this watch from toro by any chance? Tried pure time for stock but still no answer unfortunately. Really can't wait to get my hands on this beauty. Think I've only found 1 post about the DSSD from toro so just hoping some others can help. Cheers.
  11. no joy with a different supplier and she still wants that watch!!
  12. thanks for the update. I contacted trusty as my partner loves that Rep. He informed me that the watch maker of that rep was taken by authorities at the beginning of 2013 and hasn't been released and he no longer has stock!! had to find an alternative Christmas present.
  13. icoopernicus - I was also just wondering whether your ladies Tag was a rep? trusty has this watch and was thinking about pulling the trigger. Any help would be much appreciated.
  14. No you don't use pliers to widen the gap. You use pliers to adjust the curvature of the arm portion of the clasp. I found this out adjusting a deployant clasp. I didn't like the curve so I tried to adjust it to fit better and in doing so it would go from closing and not locking, to closing and locking too tight, to not even closing. Where are you located? If in the US pm me your address. I have a working clasp. The fold over part that says Breitling 1884 is a little messed up on the corner but the part that is jacked up on yours works perfect so between the one you have and the one I will send you you should be able to make 1 functioning clasp. Edited by jdkno, 07 November 2013 - 03:15 AM. Than you very much for the offer of the clasp. Luckily for me Andrew came through and sent me a full bracket with clasp to replace my current one!! Clasp on this one closes perfectly but just my luck and without sounding ungrateful the breitling logo stamping on this one simply terrible. Basically on the arm with the large breitling stamp I can only make out breit as the remaining letters are barely stamped in! Not a big deal but things like that bug me. As I now have 2 sets I may try and swap the parts around to make the perfect clasp lol. I'll post some pics once I'm back from my weekend holiday.
  15. Great... I thought as much. Better pay up then. Bit annoying tho especially as I misread the letter and it's actually £29.59!!
  16. Ok so I received my SOSF on the 17th October from trusty in a record time of 6 days so quite suprised to receive a letter of duty charges from Fed Ex totalling £20.59!!! Now I have the watch so I'm quite inclined to not pay these ridiculous charges but I'm not certain of the implications. It's all leaving a bit of a sour taste in my mouth given the cost of the watch with p&p was $423 and the clasp is broke... Now this! Should I just bite the bullet and pay up?? Oh and it's my bday today so thanks fed ex lol.
  17. Guys I think you are completely right and thanks icoopernicus for the image, makes a lot more sense now. I don't have the clasp as of yet but Andrew has agreed to send one. he did mention sending a QC pic first, so i'll be looking out for that end link connected. On a plus as well that means I will have the other part too with the Breitling logo stamped on... currently the one I have is awful as you can see from the pics. Fingers crossed Andrew comes through on his word.
  18. Further to my thread over in the Breitling area I'm in need of some expert advice to remove my clasp. Andrew has agreed to send a new clasp as the current one on my steelfish is shockingly bad to put it mildly. However, i'm a bit stuck as I just cannot seem to remove a simple pin. It looks slightly flat headed on both ends so pushing through seems impossible. Anybody got a clue on how to do this please... I've searched everywhere for the answer but can't find it. Here's the pin i'm talking about. Cheers guys!
  19. Thank you gents for your kind input. I'm slightly annoyed as my girlfriend bought it for my birthday and was hoping to get a good example but as we all know the rep game can be hit and miss at times. I totally agree B3n the bracelet is actually really nice but the clasp is absolutely shocking. the Breitling stamp looks like a 2 yr old carried out the etching and the clasp is so misaligned it's virtually impossible to open and close, I don't think there is any saving it. Update - Andrew has responded with this 'Use a pair of pliars and a small cloth to adjust. It should be ok to work OK' I'm assuming he wants me to use pliars to widen the gap to allow clearance for the nub to click into place? if so that's not going to happen. I will see whether he will source a clasp. If not I have a watch I can't wear!!!
  20. Ok so Trusty has come through in record time, purchased last Friday and received in the UK today... total of 6 days. Very happy with watch, the dial is beautiful and I wont be taking this one off... literally as the clasp is a load of garbage! Ok so the issue is that the clasp is extremely tough to close, I noticed it's about 1 - 2mm short so it doesn't snap into position when closing. When I do force it shut then it's almost impossible to open with your fingers. I've emailed Andrew immediately but no reply yet, was just hoping to get a new clasp but not sure how feasible that will be. Anybody know a quick fix, tried a dab of WD40 but that doesn't help either. attached some pics with a quick wristie all off my phone. On a positive note the Steelfish is by far the nicest rep I now own... even compared to HBB V6 and Super Avenger
