  1. Great picture - perhaps it's time I upgraded my 3G to a 3GS iPhone. Lovely watch - Vintage seems to be getting more and more air-time here and I have to admit I'm getting more into them too. Beano
  2. Thanks for the link majcdude - I read bertieng's comment as being hypothetical - There are most likely to be updates to both variants sometime in the future. Bertieng - have you any inside information? I can't see either ET or PT (or any of our dealers) advising us of new versions in the pipeline (as that would most likely reduce sales of the current stock). It would be nice though..... Dealers?? Beano
  3. Precious Time would be the obvious choice (for me). Regards, Beano
  4. As one of the many here who started out not liking the look of the DSSD when it first appeared (and now saving the lunch money to get one). The model gets a hell of a lot of air-time on the forums. Frank - How's your Supreme from PT doing. When we last saw it, you had in pieces on a workbench. Any mods going on? and is it getting much wrist time? All the best, Beano
  5. Confused but Happy

  6. A version 5.2! What happened to v5.1? Now we start again Antomarty - when are you expecting to get yours from ET? Beano
  7. Thanks Frank - like many here, I've been waiting to see PT's model. Thanks for being the guinea pig on this. When you get a chance can you post some wrist and lume shots.... much appreciated. Beano
  8. Thanks Vlydog. Useful source of information.
  9. Walking past a magazine rack today and saw a picture of a Panerai Gmt and the title against the photo was P9000. Looked nice. Sandwich dual plus small date window at 3. (no cyclops mag). Anyone have any more detail. Any guesses if it will ever get to be decent rep? Regards Beano
  10. I'm no genius but had a similar problem with my 111h - When you wind the watch look at the mechanism (assuming you have a display back(?) the smallest cog nearest the winding crown may be slipping. The fix is easy: 1. Remove the case back 2. Using screwdriver tighten the screw on the slipping cog. REMEMBER that the screw is threaded in reverse, so you need to tighten it by turning anti-clockwise 3. Now gently wind the watch to see if the slipping cog holds..... If there is too much resistance when you wind the watch you will need to loosen the cog slightly 4. Replace case back 5. Enjoy your 111 Regards, Beano
  11. Firstly, thanks for pointing out that PT has now got a new model DSSD. As of 10 days ago I was looking at getting his v4 model. I have bought 3 pieces from PT over the last two years and not had any problems. Plus that he's EU based, makes things that much easier as well. Beano
  12. Scratch my earlier request - having just seen antomarty's post, PT now has a 'Supreme' (or is that a V5 ). So a call out to any member's who get their hands on PT's latest to let us know. Thanks, Beano
  13. Having been away from the board for almost a year I'm enjoying catching up on the news and who's buying what watches and what mods are being taken on. What's surprised me is the improvement with the ceramic bezels on the GMT IIc, DSSD etc. When I left, these were not looking great. The watch that I'm learning all about now is the DSSD. A watch that when I saw the first official pictures, I was not impressed, but like many members, I like the larger watches (i.e. PAM 111h got me started on this). My day to day watch is an SSD, which I got from PT - This is a great watch, looks good, feels solid and (very useful) accurate! I would be grateful to hear from any members who have experience of the v4 DSSD from PT. Having experienced the SSD I don't want to go backwards in terms of build quality. Many thanks to all who have gone to the trouble of writing some great reviews. Once I have made the leap and got the DSSD, I will try to come up with an original approach to reviewing/photographing my new purchase. It's good to back , Beano
  14. Success - got the back off the 111h and check the clicker - it seemed ok. However, the small cog (on Bazz's movement picture the one lower left) was loose. Tightened it, check the winding, replaced the back and it's now on my wrist!! Very happy. Thanks again to Bazz and to the RWG - a valued resource. Beano
  15. Thanks guys - I will have a go at that. Nice movemeny by the way!! Beano
  16. Bazz - Yes that would describe it exactly. Is this an 'easy' fix for a replica friendly watchsmith?
  17. I have a Pam 111H (Swiss movement) that for 7months has worked fine. Yesterday when I came to wind it, things felt odd. When I checked the mechanism through the display back, I noticed that the gears appear to be slipping when I try and wind the watch. Does this sound terminal or can it be fixed..... would it be cost effective to repair? Thanks in advance for advice. Beano
